Participant@apeatling Really really would like to have the link to “Threads you’ve started or commented in” as in the old forums index layout. It’s extremely hard at the moment (doubly so without being able to favorite forums threads) to keep track of discussions you’ve started or participated in.

Participant@gezan – I agree 100% – the plugin page looks very solid. The other is a bit ‘meh’.

Participant@foxly Wow, that’s awesome news!! Congrats and thanks for answering my question
Can’t wait for the next version!April 28, 2010 at 1:00 am #75586Leah
ParticipantI’m not so sure about the redesign.
The overal feeling is that it’s unfocused in terms of ui elements, colors and typography.
To be more hands on, compare this mockup and screenshot:Mockup. You get the picture in no time. Clean, solid.
twitpic.com/1b0joiScreenshot. To many disparate elements, low contrast, a bit blurry impression.
i41.tinypic.com/30towic.pngI’m certainly not an ui expert, but my intention is constructive criticism.

Moderator@thekmen I do not want this in core or any other media plugin. Who wants to be stuck with same capabilities?

ParticipantThere are a couple “persistent notification” issues ongoing, though at least one of them has a fix committed now: https://trac.buddypress.org/changeset/2921
helpme1, if you’re able to edit your code, that may help with at least one of the issues you have?

ParticipantThe “blogs” menu options only shows up if you have member blogs when using MU.
Blogs are not posts.

ParticipantThanks Paul. That works perfect.
Lots of good information there. Is there a place where it lists all of those objects that can be called like this? I found this function page: https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/functions/ but BP_Groups_Group() wasn’t on that and doesn’t specify any variables that can be passed in.

Participantwow that’s really nice thanks! However, my problem is that I don’t see the “blogs” option in the menu, like the one they have here: https://s.w.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-quickpress/screenshot-1.jpg?r=234544

KeymasterYep, you’ve got it exactly right – in /wp-admin/post-new.php.
If you want to let your users post from within the front-end, take a look at https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-quickpress/. It hasn’t been updated in a long while so if it doesn’t work, hopefully someone else is aware of an alternate.

Paul Wong-Gibbs
KeymasterHi Matthew, that sounds like a strange problem. When you click Create Groups, and you get the blank screen, this usually refers to a PHP error. Take a look at your webserver log for any messages around this time and let us know what it says

KeymasterI’ve done this sort of thing for several clients, so I suppose I could share how I’ve done it: http://buddypress.pastebin.com/ZMqNQh33
Put this into a custom plugin or in to /wp-content/bp-custom.php. Please note the above was copied, pasted, and hacked around before posting above so code might not be as good as it could be.

Participant@apeatling – I like that “Latest Post” View on Support Forums is back! I would suggest some small refinements related to UX. It happend very often that i get sidetracked by the User/Group-Avatars and the “Post Meta-Infos” when scanning through the “Latest Post” – Index. I mada a small mockup where i removed the Avatars (i really like them, but found it alot
easier to scan the index without avatars) and moved the meta-infos to the group-column. You can find the mockup here -> http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/4174/bildschirmfoto20100427u.png (The old view is visible on the bottom of the image)April 27, 2010 at 9:36 pm #75554Jens Wedin
Participant@boonebgorges Great plugin, using right now on http://www.chwisgi.com
Now you can set how many max you want to send to. Could it be instead for example three fields and on the last there is a plus (+) button. If the user clicks it adds another field where you can add another mail. Will make it more flexible in my mind. What do you think?April 27, 2010 at 9:32 pm #75553In reply to: Buddypress on WordPress vs WordPress MU
Andrea Rennick
ParticipantYes, I meant what techguy said.
If the original OP{ was using extra plugins for BuddyPress that gathered and used information across the site/network/whatever, then *those* items may not work properly if he downgrades to single WP.Because you know someone’s gonna have a BP install with every extra BP plugin out there installed, will downgrade from MU to WP, then come back here screaming that stuff broke.
I could also point to another thread where a user is wonder where the “recent siteiwde posts” widget is, but he’s running single WP not MU, so that’s why it doesn’t show up.(tangent: some mu functions did get renamed in 3.0 but the current functions still exist. They are listed as deprecated though, so at some point plugins authors will need to catch up.
There’s also the fuzzy meaning of the word “features”. ;P )
And yes, waiting until 3.0 will make downgrading SO much easier…

ParticipantUse FTP and Rename the plugin buddypress-links to something else.
Your site will be back.
@MrMaz will be in a better position to answer the error, but It is most probably related to the loading order of components.April 27, 2010 at 9:22 pm #75550In reply to: Activity Stream
