re: forum layout: in the last few steps of the BP compatibility process, make sure that you checked enabling bp.css
I suggest you post this issue at theme dev’s forums at http://themekraft.com/groups/custom-community/forum where the theme devs @svenl77 and @konradS will be able to assist you. Do add which version of BP and Costum Community Theme you using as well when you post there.

The beta 3 should be ok to run on a live site. Always back up though before installing beta BuddyPress. You will get native drop downs and many other fixes/enhancements

I’ve also discovered that timezone settings are wrong in a lot of the blogs. I have told the blogs admins to set them properly, and now I will wait and see if that solves this mystery (might be that BuddyPress checks time in a certain way to decide to show stuff in the activity stream or not).

In WordPress 3.2.1 as a Network admin you should find it at the left menu second item from the top ‘BuddyPress’.
I found the answer. They are using the latest beta version. It has the drop down menus.
Try some of the WP Facebook connects. I know simple FB connect works and a few others do as well.

I have BuddyPress activated in Network Admin, and its clearly working on the Site when I load it, but I can’t see any settings for BuddyPress. They aren’t in Site Admin, nor Network admin.
What am I doing wrong?

I’m brand new to BuddyPress and looking for a couple pieces of functionality I’m hoping might be available in a plugin. On our site, we would like users to be able to:
• Use their Facebook login to create their profile and log in
• Log in if they don’t have/want to use FB
• Manage subscriptions to various MailChimp lists
• Save or bookmark various types of content:
o Posts
o Pages
o Photos
o Various custom content types
I’ve found plugins for MailChimp. I have not found plugins for FB Connect and bookmarking that will work. The plugins I’ve seen for FB Connect are all related to commenting. The bookmarking plugins are all social (Delicious, Digg, etc.) and we just want someone to be able to save different pages of our site to their profile. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Here’s a (probably stupid) question for you.
I used the “BuddyPress Theme Compatibility” plugin to make the default WordPress theme “Twenty Eleven” work with Buddypress.
It works okay, but the search form (/?s=query) is still only searching WordPress items (pages, posts) and not areas such as groups, forums, members etc.
Ho do I change this?

One more thing with this theme. http://testbp.org/discussion/ has drop down menus. Is it using a plugin for that? I read from some forum that drop down is soon integrated into BuddyPress default theme, but it was 9 months ago. Isn’t it still integrated?
@enderandrew, I’ve just installed 1.5 Beta 3, and tried to recreate the issue I had with the checkboxes mentioned in my earlier post. This is issue appears to have been solved.
@enderandrew, I do not have your issue on 1.2.9 nor 1.5 Beta 2. The only issue I have is that the checkboxes options field that I add to XProfile, do not show up in BP 1.5 Beta 2 (only the first checkbox option does), while all options display in BP 1.2.9.
