ParticipantHi Ray,
which sidebar.php file you are talking about ?
1)…themes / default / sidebar.php
or
2)….plugins / buddypress / bp-themes / bp-deault / sidebar.php
or
3)…..wp-content / themes / home / sidebar.php
Also, where do I change the text “To start connecting please log in first…….” ?
Many thanks !

MemberBuddyPress is running fine in http://www.venture4change.com/community, but I see what you mean….perhaps there are two installations? It’s possible…I used the host’s lousy wordpress installer, which was likely simplescripts.
What’s your recommendation?

ParticipantI would love a very simple version of this future plugin which just gives you the option to report a post to the mod or admin.
Would a stripped down version or a version where you can just activate this feature be possible?
Also does anyone know if their is a bad language filter for BP? A customisable one where you can place your own banned words would be great too.

ParticipantHow beta is 2.0? If it’s like WP 3 (i.e. mostly baked, a few rough edges) then sure. If it’s ‘Only Devs!’ I’ll hold up

And thank you!

Participantmaybe I should start a new thread for this…
How do I remove something that I don’t want to be inherited, I’m assuming I need to remove it from the imported css?

Participantthe avatar issue seems to come form an incorrect value for the upload_path option in wp_options for the main blog. Make sure it is set to: wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files
Once I updated the option manually in the database, everything worked fine. Also if you have an old .htaccess file from WPMU, it needs to change to use the new ms-files.php in the rewrite rules:
RewriteRule ^files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$1 [L]
@Andy Peatling
I’m using WP3.0 beta-1 and BP 1.3-bleeding and things seem to work OK for the most part except the Blogs area is a bit shaky. I don’t get the My Blogs admin bar menu item.
So the recommendation is to use BP 1.2.3? Hm, how do I downgrade? Can I just disable BP, reinstall 1.2.3 and then reactivate it?

KeymasterWait for BP 1.2.4 for compatibility with WP 3. You could run SVN 2.0 branch, but YMMV.

ParticipantWe desperately need movement on this project now! Today Ning announced they are moving to force all networks to either pay up or leave! I help run a very content rich network for arcade collectors, and BuddyPress is a strong contender for our next platform. However, it would be disastrous to walk away from all of the helpful content our users have contributed via hundreds of Forum discussions, hundreds of niche game specific and area specific groups, and even the blog posts!
P.S. I joined the Group for this project, but I have been unable to the discussion area. Please direct me to it if I missed it.

Which is something I really want to learn how to do if it’s even possible. I think Buddypress will really need this feature.

ParticipantOk, that works. At least something changed this time! The wheels are spinning again. Thanks!
April 15, 2010 at 6:34 pm #73681r-a-y
KeymasterTry this in your style.css:
/* Inherit the default theme styles */
@import url( ../../plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/css/default.css );
/* Inherit the default theme adminbar styles */
@import url( ../../plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/css/adminbar.css );
#header {background:#121212 !important;}Make sure you refresh your page so you can view the new changes.

ParticipantI thought of that too, while I was waiting for a response I tried this, and it still didn’t work.
Firebug is still showing this as the #header from my style.css
#header {
-moz-background-clip: border;
-moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;
height: 88px;
min-width: 960px;
padding-top: 25px;
}
and this from default.css
#header {
position: relative;
color: #ffffff;
background: transparent url( ../images/default_header.jpg) repeat scroll 0 0;
-moz-border-radius-bottomleft: 6px;
-moz-border-radius-bottomright: 6px;
-moz-background-origin: padding;
-moz-background-inline-policy: continuous; crossed off
-moz-background-clip: border;
height: 100px; crossed off
padding-top: 25px; crossed off
}
