KeymasterI think the percentage of developers who take on work, who read testbp.org, is a bit small. I suggest if there’s someone you’ve got an eye on, send them a message

ParticipantHey Kelly.
I really like your Home layout. Im new to BuddyPress and im looking for the same kind of layout for my home page:
Smooth Slider
Recent Comments/Random Articles
Posts
Which plugins (if used) did you use for Recent Comments & Random Articles?
Im using the default BP theme. Would I have to edit the theme to get that effect if is it possible to integrate with a plugin?
lastly, which theme did you start out with as a template?
You can see my site here http://site.chestermc.org
Many Thanks!

KeymasterWhen the new BP.org site relaunches with the group and forum components enabled, a proper venue for these things can be posted.
Until then, the job board on testbp.org (http://testbp.org/groups/buddypress-job-board/) can be used as a stop-gap.

ParticipantI’m already regretting posting this. I hope it doesn’t run counter to the BuddyPress ethic. Sorry in advance.

KeymasterIf you enable root profiles, you can accomplish that.
Add this to wp-config.php:
define ( 'BP_ENABLE_ROOT_PROFILES', true );For more nifty overrides, read this:

KeymasterI repeat myself:
BuddyPress 1.2.* isn’t built or tested for compatibility with WP 3.0-Alpha yet.
That will come in BuddyPress 1.3.

KeymasterI’ve found the reverted commit I was looking at: https://trac.buddypress.org/changeset/2794
That may help

ModeratorYou have to create a page in the admin and choose the widget page template for that page. If you have latest version you have two page template options.
If wordpress theme repo would allow I would include screen shots and a better how to. They don’t give us the same repo as plugins.

ParticipantI don’t see a Blog option show up with latest trunk of WP 3.0 and latest trunk of BP so did BP disable the blog under current trunk?

ParticipantTweetstream doesn’t work with my forums with this plugin enabled…
I hate to sound like a broken record but I spend more time replying ‘more details please’. I can’t help you if you don’t provide any details, configuration, steps, etc. Unless I break out my magic buddypress dust so i can go ninja style inside your server.
Someone posted up a tweetstream issue a few pages back. Though I don’t know what the resolution is (i don’t use the plugin and can’t since twitter revoked my api access because of it)

ParticipantHey Francis,
I am running wp mu 2.9.2 and buddypress 1.2.3. and had exactly the same problem. Your fix solved the problem in my case. Thank you very much.
I would have posted in the trac, but the https://buddypress.org/register/ link is blank for me, so I cannot register for an account.

ParticipantHi guys – we’re awaiting an update of that plugin. The developer is on the case but we need to be patient on that one.

ParticipantTweetstream doesn’t work with my forums with this plugin enabled…
Are you sure it’s Forum Extras causing the problem?? What are you trying to do that’s not working?
On my BP install, the current version of Tweetstream works when posting updates from the ACtivity page, but NOT from the forums. This issue occurs regardless of whether or not Forum Extras is enabled.

KeymasterAlso, this question ought to have gone to the theme developer.

KeymasterYou didn’t follow the instructions:
April 2, 2010 at 6:35 pm #71471r-a-y
KeymasterCan be changed via language file:
https://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/
Or via core file, but I’m not going to tell you how!
Okay fine, here it is – /bp-core/bp-core-widgets.php

ParticipantThe menu colors are driven by the .css file, located here:
/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/fishbook/_inc/css
* Section “ul#nav li a” (no quotes) controls color of non-active menu tabs
* Section “ul#nav li.selected a” (no quotes) controls color of active/selected menu tabs
color = tab text color
background = tab background color
* Section “#wp-admin-bar .padder” (no quotes) controls top bar of color above header
Now, if I can determine how to get the active header tabs to change for static pages, I’ll be happy. Any ideas?

Regards… Tom
