Apologies if my reported problem is the same as this one: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=3306 . They seem related.
bpContents is a content aggregation and organization tool for BuddyPress.
Based on WordPress custom taxonomies. Any type of content can be tagged. Members, Groups and Blogs are the currently defined content types. Theme template tags and widgets are included.

Yes, it is on track for v1.1. See here: https://buddypress.org/about/roadmap/
I have filed this ticket in trac to report this bug.
Forgot to mention, error is occurring in header, not in logs as OP indicated….. in case you didn’t see screenshot above…
Occurs in Safari and Firefox … tried disabling all plugins and mu-plugins to no avail. It’s a somewhat new error, so trying to think of what could have possibly changed in install as of late besides plugin updates….don’t think the issue occurred in 2.7. …. not sure where to go from here…..
Any feedback or ideas appreciated, getting ready to launch and it’s kind of a bummer to have new users see this as they sign up.

I have done everything people appear to be saying, but still don’t get the translation (a very simple change from Avatar to Photo. I made the .po and .mo (using PoEdit) and uploaded them to the server
buddypress-Alumni.po and .mo are in the /bp-languages folder and the bp_custom.php is the /plugs/buddypress folder, with this code
<?php
define( ‘BPLANG’, ‘Alumni’ );
if ( file_exists( BP_PLUGIN_DIR . ‘/bp-languages/buddypress-‘ . BPLANG . ‘.mo’ ) ) {
load_textdomain( ‘buddypress’, BP_PLUGIN_DIR . ‘/bp-languages/buddypress-‘ . BPLANG . ‘.mo’ );
}
?>
Last step seems to be reloading Buddypress (although I’m not sure how to do this).
Any clue what I should be doing differently to get this to work?
Thanks
This may be more of a WordPress thing, but… I’ve been trying to get bp-events, my BuddyPress Events plugin, listed on the WordPress plugins repository…
I’ve been fooling around with Tortoise SVN, and I can’t make heads of tails of it… I can’t seem to get the darn thing to upload my plugin. I can’t get it to down or upload anything… in short: I’m lost.
Is there an easier way to get started, does anyone know of a good tutorial? I’ll have to do it from my Windows machine, since my server doesn’t have SVN or command line access.
Thanks for your help
i told my problem as a ticket. can you check and help me please?

I’m creating a slew of pages for our Buddypress installation that are all FAQ’s for the different functions. I highly recommend this to really understand the workings of Buddypress.
One of the draft questions I created was can a group admin change the access level to a different setting? Say it was private. Can they change it to public? Public to hidden? Hidden to private? And so on …
Another idea just hit me – a community depository of FAQ’s that admins can copy and paste into their pages or where they like. I am glad to get the ball rolling. Is there a way to share this with others?
Thanks,
Brian
hi Jeff Sayre, I did the hole thing…. but I still can’t change the password.
I copied the db and data to a new working domain for messing around.
I switched to the default home and member theme. Turned off all plugins and deleted all mu plugins.
Any idea? the rest of mu and buddypress is doing his job correct…..
THE CAUSE FOUND!!!
I found the cause of this issue. So obvious. Everyone who’s having this issue please follow this instruction!!
DON’T REINSTALL THE WORDPRESS OR BUDDYPRESS. You should just follow the steps below.
1. go to siteurl/wp-admin
2. go to setting -> permalinks
3. Change common settings EXCEPT DEFAULT. If you set it as default, the issue occurs.
If this doesn’t work, please reply.
Thank you all!

If you are just on a test site with no data that needs saving, then do a fresh install of everything–this means WPMU and also creating a new MySQL DB.
If not, then as this is WPMU issue and not BuddyPress, the proper place for this support request is on the WPMU forums.
I reckon as much as 25% of my users are using ie 6
Well, based on the most recent browser statistics, you have an unusual group of users!
It is very difficult to optimize a theme design for IE6. Are you using a custom theme? If so, look at the header.php file that comes with the default BP theme and make sure that you’ve included the calls to the ie6.css files.
Also, here’s a thread that about IE6 issues that may help out: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=2262#post-14161
I said this in another thread about IE support:
Getting themes of any platform (not just WordPress) to work in all versions of IE can be frustrating and tricky at best, impossible at worst. I would focus on optimizing your users’ IE experience on IE8 and IE7. Some designers are not even supporting IE6 anymore. I wouldn’t even worry about IE5.5 Of course, this is only my opinion.
I’ve been setting up BuddyPress so that people users can add their information in the profile fields. I’ve added about 5 groups of information, and this works fine. But if I add another group, the group name appears below the others (it needs to wrap around), but it isn’t linked and so it doesn’t work. Is there a limit to the number of groups you can have when setting up profile fields?

Hi, I did see this mentioned elsewhere but with no answers.
In IE 6.0 & the buddypress theme, the friendship buttons on the friends page display way far to the right, so far they can’t be seen.
In fact when I signed up to bptest.org i almost gave up because I was using IE 6.0 and I just couldn’t see how I could accept any friendship requests.
I reckon as much as 25% of my users are using ie 6 so if anyone can advise I would be really grateful, its beyond my css ability I’m afraid.
I’m using I’m using WPMU 2.7.1 BP 1.0.1 and BBPress 1.0-alpha-6 and BP default theme
@honewatson, Is this a new plugin you are making, if so would a holy grail for new users?
You are confusing buddypress, which uses /blog/ to refer to the blog page. install it elsewhere, say “wpmu”, and try again
I built WordPress MU 2.7.1 + BuddyPress 1.0.1 on shared hosting .
my url http://intw.org/blog/
The problem is ….. ‘home’ link to empty and nothing….
Anything wrong when I install ?! How can I fix it ?!
Thank you all~~
Thank you all. I solved this problem. I don’t know what’s the cause though.
I just reinstalled whole WordPress MU & BuddyPress. But I didn’t erased the MySQL DB. So I could use whole data base again normally.
If someone is struggling with this issue, Just reinstall them. It’s easiest way I think.
Yes, rpx just jumps the standard registration process for buddypress which is required. The ideal is to direct rpx users fill the required forms in the profile…
Does your plugin offer such function?
Socialpreneur, do you have any stats on your openid sign ups?
Just to clarify, you would like to require that certain form entries be completed when accounts are registered?
