    I just got two replies back from a PM thread that were blank:

    Jeff Sayre sent you a new message:

    Subject:

    ""

    To view the message: http://buddypress.org/developers/burtadsit/messages/view/

    No msg number at the end either. Nonce prob? Here only? Anybody else see this on their sites? I think these originated from a multiple cc’er type PM thread.

    I got one from you too just now jjj. Was it on that thread that you just responded?

    yes John, for the Italian localization.

    have the folder svn.buddypress.org/i18n/it_IT/1.0 … 1.1 and so on (for example)

    and the same for other localization teams… I hope to be clear :P

    Well, this is pretty specific to your issue: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=1096

    I’m closing this thread as it has nothing to do with BuddyPress support. If you’re interested in offering your services to Pcmike, you have his email address in the OP.

    @Pcmike-

    Please realize that you’re asking to convert your single-user WP blog into a WPMU + BuddyPress site. Make sure that the person you use understands this important point.

    Works here too. I had troubling setting it up originally, but that’s because I hadn’t read the readme.txt carefully to do what @Jfcarter above has just said.

    @Sinan,

    I’m using it with WPMU 2.7.1/BuddyPress 1.0. Here’s where I have the plugin files located:

    wp-captcha.php and wp-captcha.tff – in wp-content

    wpmu-signup-captcha.php – in wp-content/mu-plugins

    Works beautifully for me.

    Thank you Burt! It looks like I can add any widget-enabled theme and the home page will change to it, then I can add the widgets for BP (i.e., Blogs, Members, Groups etc.). I also want to change the BP theme for users so it closely matches the look and feel of the overall site. I’ll figure that out.

    Thanks so much,

    Thomas

    Lo.

    > Why is it when I add a page to my WordPress site, it doesn’t show up in my BuddyPress navigation?

    Because that’s just the way the default home theme is written. The items listed on that menu aren’t ‘Pages’ in the WordPress sense, anyway, so it makes little sense for the default, out-the-box BuddyPress theme to do that.

    The bit of code you’d need to change (or to add in your custom/duplicate theme) is in header.php. Where you see:

    <ul id="nav">

    Add this underneath:

    <?php wp_list_pages('title_li=<h2>Pages</h2>' ); ?>

    Documentation for that function is at https://codex.wordpress.org/wp_list_pages

    Hi I have two questions, and I know there are a couple of related discussions on the forum, but I am looking for a definitive answer.

    Why is it when I add a page to my WordPress site, it doesn’t show up in my BuddyPress navigation? Is there any way that I can get it so that the buddypress navigation is updated with the pages that I add in WordPress. This seems like a strange behavior considering every other WordPress theme is designed to update the main nav with new pages when they are added in wordpress.

    Also when I go to add a widget to a sidebar when that widget is already used by another sidebar, WordPress does not give you the option to add it again. How do you include the widget on two sidebars at the same time.

    I don’t like doing a lot of coding and messing with files so if anybody has any simple coding solutions or tweaks to these issues, I would be very greatful. Thanks.

    Hello,

    I searched the forums for a solution but alas, couldn\\\’t find one.

    I am having an issue with the pagination of the activity stream of a users profile. You can see an example on this link: http://one95studios.com/yab/members/memyselfeye/

    You will see there that I have it set to display 10 items per page with a maximum of 20 results. You will also see that no matter what page link you click on that the same results appear in the stream.

    Here is my code:

    <div class=\\\”info-group\\\”>

    <h4><?php echo bp_word_or_name( __( \\\”My Trail\\\”, \\\’buddypress\\\’ ), __( \\\”%s\\\’s Trail\\\”, \\\’buddypress\\\’ ), true, false ) ?></h4></p>

    <p> <?php if ( bp_has_activities( \\\’type=personal&per_page=10&max=20\\\’ ) ) : ?></p>

    <p> <div class=\\\”pag-count\\\” id=\\\”activity-count\\\”>

    <?php bp_activity_pagination_count() ?>

    </div></p>

    <p> <div class=\\\”pagination-links\\\” id=\\\”activity-pag\\\”>

    <?php bp_activity_pagination_links() ?>

    </div></p>

    <p> <div id=\\\”activity-rss\\\”>

    <p>\\\” title=\\\”<?php _e( \\\’RSS Feed\\\’, \\\’buddypress\\\’ ) ?>\\\”><?php _e( \\\’RSS Feed\\\’, \\\’buddypress\\\’ ) ?></p>

    </div></p>

    <p> <ul id=\\\”activity-list\\\”>

    <?php while ( bp_activities() ) : bp_the_activity(); ?>

    <li class=\\\”<?php bp_activity_css_class() ?>\\\”>

    <?php bp_activity_content() ?></p>

    <p> <?php endwhile; ?></p>

    <p> <?php else: ?></p>

    <p> <div id=\\\”message\\\” class=\\\”info\\\”>

    <p><?php echo bp_word_or_name( __( \\\”You haven\\\’t done anything yet.\\\”, \\\’buddypress\\\’ ), __( \\\”%s hasn\\\’t done anything yet.\\\”, \\\’buddypress\\\’ ), true, false ) ?></p>

    </div></p>

    <p> <?php endif;?>

    </div>

    I just did a fresh install of wpmu and buddypress. Now when I log into the admin area, I get the buddypress admin, not the wp admin, so I can’t find anywhere to enable registration. What am I doing wrong?

    I need to remove the avatars completely … do not want these at all. How do I do that? The BuddyPress settings does not have an option to disable this altogether (not that I can see). Is this something that requires a change to a hard-coded element?

    Anyone got running this plugin on sign-up page with 2.7.1?

    in comments it works, but i can’t see it on register page and i have no idea how to make it work there.

    Hi Jeff,

    Thanks for all your help so far. I was indeed talking about the BuddyPress widget. I’ll have a go at that and see what results I get :) thank you. All I really need to do is add some CSS classes and a container box but what I put in functions.php (obviously) gets ignored.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

    I have had the same problem for the last few days, using wpmu2.7.1, bp1.0, bb1a6, bbpress integration plugin and buddypress-enable.

    The steps that seem to have solved the problem:

    1. Delete all cookies.

    2. Go to bbpress, register a new user. Log into bbpress as keymaster and give define that new users as admin.

    3. Create a new forum in bbpress (any new forum).

    4. Log into wpmu, go to forums setup and use the new user you just created.

    5. Delete all cookies.

    5. Log in, try starting a new group in wpmu.

    I’m trying to pinpoint which of these steps did the trick to reuse it beyond my test installation.

    Let me know whether it works for you as well, and if you figure out what the reason is.

    Good luck

    I have a bicycle blog http://clydesdalefitness.com and I’d like to make it a BuddyPress site…

    Are there developers who I can hire at a reasonable fee to switch from wp 2.7 which I have now to all buddy press?

    direct email is pcmike AT me DOT com

    #44865

    Remember also, that the navigation in header.php has NOTHING to do with WordPress pages. They are hard coded to the BuddyPress predetermined hi-jacked URLs.

    Hey, just wanted to ask fellow buddypress webmasters on how they use their main blog.

    Some options I have thought of are as a site news, site tips etc. I plan to have these blogs anyway (site tips might be static pages) and I was wondering if any would work best as the main blog or as regular subdomain blogs (I use the subdomain option on my install).

    Any other interesting ways to use the main blog?

    The bp home theme is entirely optional. You can use your preferred wp theme for all the usual things and integrate whatever selected features what you want into the theme. Or none at all. The member theme is still available through the top admin bar.

    See this in the codex: https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/using-the-buddypress-themes/

    I have my site hosted and have installed WP MU and BP. It’s http://www.thedigitalcomic.com

    I want to have a main site and integrate BuddyPress but not have BP be the whole site like it is now. I was told by the hosting company (who has installed more than 2000 MU/BP sites) that my install is the way to do it. I want a regular WP blog for the homepage and links to BP. Is this possible since BP has a home page of it’s own?

    I see where I can create a Blog (Blog vs. Blogs link) but I want it to be the home page.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Thomas

    bp has to be installed in a folder called /wp-content/plugins/buddypress. Try uploading the plugin again. Activate sitewide.
