I’ve checked with my service provider to see what they can tell me. As I mentioned before, others are experiencing this and there hasn’t been a satisfactory response yet.
I have checked all my permissions, and my WPMU install is fine. It’s just the buddypress that isn’t working properly.
If you can’t check your logs or turn on error reporting then fixing this will be like finding a needle in a haystack.
Yeah, that is what I mean. If adding things like “embed” or “object” code scares you to death, you can always include something like Anarchy Media Player where you can include the javascript in the buddypress theme header and then it will parse the page for the plugin quickcode and display the media that way. That is a way some are already doing it with things like bbPress where the media plugin doesn’t exist yet.
Andy put a filter on the tags used in wire. It allows common HTML now, but with a plugin can also be used to change the allowed tags to anything you want. I am going to do this on an extremely private install, but thinking about Anarchy as well. Just haven’t had time.

@dug — Try manually creating these pages in the main blog: “Groups” and “Register” and “Members” and “Blogs”. Just title them and publish. No content. See if that helps.

I did check the mu-plugins folder (it’s at 755) and it’s in /wp-content.
Did you check the permissions of the actual mu-plugins folder? Is the /mu-plugins folder in /wp-content?

I did install buddypress and everything is fine, but I can’t post my own language (Thai) in forum.

WPMU 2.7 and BuddyPress 1.0b2 installed without problems on my blog, for Portuguese-Brazilian accent in the old topics were lost, but the forum is much faster now.
What are the improvements made in beta2?
Is there any kind of documentation about the functionality of how BuddyPress works? For the most part I understand the whole concept and functioning of the system, however, Trend said something that got me wondering if I even know how the whole system does work. For instance, what is possible under the wire? youtube videos? Videos?

For the most part the hackers and programmers know what is going on, however some of us are left in the dark a little as to what the difference is between VER 1 to Ver 2 other than being more free of bugs.
When I type my domain, nothing comes up as long as the mu-plugins directory is there. Once I delete it, I can see the WordPress blog (but then I don’t have the buddypress stuff and themes). I don’t know how to check the logs or how to turn on error reporting in Php
Please check your logs, there is no such thing as a blank screen. You can also turn on error reporting in PHP. Once you know what’s wrong, it’s usually simple to diagnose.
I have installed WordPress mu and the install seems to be working fine. Once I add in the files for Buddypress, I get a blank screen. If I change the name of the mu-plugins directory (so that WPMU doesn’t recognize it) I can get see the WPMU site.
I have already changed the permissions (CSS, JS, themes) to 755, so I don’t think that’s the problem
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? There is some sort of bug in Buddypress.

I have installed a fresh WP MU 2.7 and it’s going well. I then installed Buddypress 1.0 b2 that was just released.
The home theme did not work for me. It gave me a few lines and links on a white page.
I had to go back to the last version and install the home theme while keeping all the other new components from 1.0 b2.
1) Is there a problem with the new default home thing?
2) Has anyone else experienced this problem?
3) Would it be OK to mix and match from 1.0 b and 1.0 b2?

Obviously mod_security is stopping this believing it’s an attack.
One thing I do not want to do is turn off mod_security, as when I look through just today’s logs there are thousands of actual attack attempts. I had no idea I was such a target already…
Is there a way to add exception rules to mod_security?
Or is there a better way to do this so I can use wordpressmu with buddypress?

I’ve noticed that the ‘news’ has changed to ‘blog’ in the beta version. How do I changed that ‘blog’ to ‘news’?
