    Do you still have the issue if you use Twenty Fifteen with no plugins activated (aside from BuddyPress)?

    @shanebp – Thank you this works really well. Weird, bug though. If you use the text search box, this breaks the pagination (without me editing any of your code). I’m guessing it has something to do with the URL parameters?

    ?s=examplesearch&members_search_submit=Search

    This doesn’t break the pagination on the first page, but on page 2 and then when clicking back to page 1. The label displaying the number of members etc. is wrong and also the number of results per page is then wrong as it displays all results.

    Interestingly, is it not possible to pass additional parameters either via members-loop.php? e.g.

    if ( bp_has_members( bp_ajax_querystring( 'members' ).'member_type=expert' ) ) :

    or via your code in bp-custom.php? I’m thinking I’m getting something mixed up when trying to add these additional parameters. It’s because I wanted to make use of the new ‘member_type’ in the latest version of BuddyPress but using a ‘member_type=exampletype’ doesn’t seem to work.

    Theme is BuddyBoss 4.1.5.

    Plugins, I have stripped down to the bare minimum, to keep my site somewhat functional (all are updated to latest version):
    Akismet
    bbPress
    BuddyBoss Media
    BuddyBoss Wall
    BuddyPress
    BubbyPress Captcha
    BuddyPress Security Check
    iframe
    Jetpack
    Jetpack Only For Admins
    Remove Dashboard Access

    I even deactivated most of these to strip it down even more and created a new account. Still having the issue.

    hi @sunday-a-james,
    please don’t double post. I already answered to this here:

    I’ve had this problem for years with BuddyPress updates.

    Each time you update BuddyPress you need to get into the habit of going to Settings > Permalinks and clicking on Save Changes (you don’t need to actually change anything, just click Save Changes)!

    Hope that helps

    While I appreciate your concern on the OP’s topic you should also be aware that most social network admins including the big ones you may be using have access to PM’s as well as IP’s and Internet Service Providers. If your that paranoid about who has access to your data then I suppose the best policy would be not to volunteer it by joining in the first place of course this is just my honest opinion.

    Hey bphelp i think you missread what i was getting at bro 🙂

    Maybe there should be better ways to give users moderator capability’s that doesn’t mean giving them full admin rights

    If you read the quote above from my reply i was talking about vitamincee having to have lots of admins on her site which is what i dont agree with just to do things buddypress related.

    If your that paranoid about who has access to your data then I suppose the best policy would be not to volunteer it by joining in the first place of course this is just my honest opinion.

    I have to agree with you on this, If a user joins your or any other site he or she has to accept the way it is run in my opinion. And i understand the network admin should be able to see everything that is going on throughout the site incase anything needs to be dealt with. I was just trying to tell vitamincee that she should not hand out admin privileges unless she is 100 percent certain of the user she entrusts with these privileges (one bad egg can make you sick). I do think the way to go rather than give people full admin rights its via role editors which is what i use in all my projects, this way you control with fine detail what a user is allowed to do.

    Hello,

    please try to search in topics if a similar question wasn’t ask in the past.
    hide+admin+in+admin

    A possible solution here.

    Imho, it is a debatable issue. Is the software/program designed such as to allow the admin to read PM only if there is a complaint ? Is it explicit in the terms and conditions that admin can read PM in which case some users may not like to register?

    An user should have initial ways of blocking another harassing users like ello.co does rather than admin jumping into read PMs. In some countries it may be illegal or serious breach of privacy issues. Then there are much “grey” areas as to what is “drama” or what is a “legit” complaint.

    Also see this and this.

    Hi @hipp

    Sounds like some accessibility enhancements might be needed to the menu’s markup. I suggest you open a Trac ticket giving the core developers as much info about the problem as you can.

    You can use your same login details on Trac.

    @mentions works for me using the latest WP/BP, twenty-fifteen theme, Private Community For BP plugin, and BuddyPress Identicons plugin. Very basic setup for myself so you will need to provide more info on your setup so others can help. 🙂

    And just when you think things are about to get worse…they get better. On a lark I went in and re-saved the Permalinks configuration on my site, and the Sitemaps appeared again. It looks like it is working.

    So a word to the wise, if you ever update BuddyPress and use WordPress SEO, be sure to check whether your sitemap is still working, whether the BuddyPress page titles are working, etc. If not, try and save your Permalink configuration (under Dashboard->Settings->Permalinks).

    I just noticed this same problem with missing sitemaps on my site when upgrading to BuddyPress 2.2.1.

    It seems related to the problem with botched BuddyPress page titles I discussed in this post: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/buddypress-2-2-1-incompatible-with-yoast-seo-botched-page-titles/

    There must be a major new incompatibility between BuddyPress 2.2.x and Yoast WordPress SEO (plugin version 1.7.3.1) that REALLY needs to get fixed.

    Disabling WordPress SEO is not the solution to this problem. I will have to roll back my BuddyPress installation, which is a big pain the *ss. Not happy.

    Sorry … I guess I should have mentioned that I’m using WordPress v.4.1.1 and BuddyPress v.2.2.1
    The site URL is: http://mylifeismymuseum.eu/mlimm/activity/ and that I have tested with several different themes.

    So asking again … I’ve found that, if a site member clicks the ‘Log In’ button without first entering their username and password, the page redirects to the default WordPress login page (/wp-login.php)

    How (and where) might I modify the code so that, instead, it simply fails or, better, displays a an error message to remind the user to fill in their login credentials?

    @rosyteddy thanks for the idea. I’ve got my hands full at the moment but try opening a topic on the BuddyPress Ideas forum. There may be a developer looking to take up the challenge

    I just read the codex on this and it is conflicting….at least for me.
    here is what confuses me:

    When a user posts to the discussion forum of a public group, the user automatically becomes a member of the group.

    But we are not allowed to post, that is the message Buddypress shows when going to a public groups forum, instead we get

    Oh bother! No topics were found here!

    followed by

    You cannot create new topics.

    So how do we automatically join this group by posting?

    My guess is that there was some confusion when Buddypress wrote that part of the codex and now it sounds like all members can post on the forums of a public group and will automatically join that group.

    I have skipped that code for now since I do not know how to solve that specific double list problem.

    Until then I have added a profile nav link to the archive page for viewed author which also works, but I would prefer to see posts on the actual profile.

    I will try to integrate somehow a part of the archive into the buddypress members plugin.php later tonight.

    In plugins\buddypress\bp-activity\bp-activity-template.php

    $thisvar =  apply_filters_ref_array( 'bp_get_activity_content_body', array( $activities_template->activity->content, &$activities_template->activity ) );
    		 $thisvar  = str_replace("more", "", "$thisvar");
    		 return $thisvar;

    This vanishes “more” but I am unable to vanish “–” using str_replace

    @henrywright @danbp I think I already voted for this 🙂

    @henrywright
    if you are accepting plugin *ideas* I will suggest a small thing. But first my apologies for using this thread. Feel free to delete.
    Here goes:
    Please see https://wordpress.org/plugins/ls-buddypress-activity-plus-tabs-extension/
    This does it for the Groups only, can you please use the code to do it for the member profile page, that is, an Images tab on the member profile. Thanks.

    Good day, I have the same problem, please tell me whether it will be removed in the next releases of BP or to the author of WP-Yoast plugin to SEO? Maybe you would be better to discuss this issue, as I am not a programmer and I don’t know PHP, I cannot explain to them that you need to fix in the code. Respectfully Andrew

    Okay, so… I’ve got a page that was called page-full.php that worked for me with bbpress, and it works if I change it to buddypress.php.

    However, I really only want this for the user profile, not the other pages, so if someone knows what the user profile’s .php page is called, then that would solve my issue. Because I would like sidebars on some of the BuddyPress pages, just not all of them.

    Is there a way to make it so that there are multiple options for full-width and some with sidebar?

    For instance, I’d love to have a sidebar on members, activity, etc. But on the actual user profiles themselves, I’d like to remove the sidebar.

    And oi! There sure are a lot of files for templates. I’m having trouble finding the one that would be used for User Profiles. 😐

    Everything I’ve read says I should be looking for buddypress.php, but I don’t seem to have that file and none of the files I’ve looked in seem to have get_sidebar(). Hm.

    hi @alice-kaye,

    this needs you to create a child theme first. So you can remove or add some conditionnals for get_sidebar() Most of theme’s come with a sidebar.php file, see in the theme doc how to handle this.
