BuddyPress is a popular social media platform that is often used by businesses and organizations. When setting up a BuddyPress site, it is important to select the right caching solution to ensure the best performance for users. The best cache for BuddyPress is the object cache, which stores data such as user profiles, group activities, and other data from the database. This type of cache is able to quickly access and serve data to users, resulting in a faster of Leer más and smoother user experience. Additionally, object caches can help reduce the load on the database, which can be beneficial for sites with a large number of users. There are several object cache implementations available, such as Redis, Memcached, and APCu, so it is important to research which one is best suited for your particular BuddyPress installation.

    Hi all,

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to integrate BuddyPress in a multilingual website? In my case, English/French.

We use Polylang for our site, but it doesn’t seem to be picking up the BuddyPress text/strings for translation. So when I switch the language on the website, the profile links are translated like “Howdy, {name}”, “Edit Profile”, “Log out”, etc… but when I click on any of these links, I’m only brought to the English pages.

I think the issue is that Polylang requires you to create an English and French version of the page, but the BuddyPress pages that get created by default when you activate the plugin aren’t editable. How are these page contents loaded? Are they iframes?

In any case, has anyone used this plugin in a multilingual site? If so, how are you doing it? What language plugin are you using?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

As the Administrator, is there a way for me to make all member profiles invisible, and Members can make their profiles visible to other Members if they choose to? I’m using BuddyPress with MemberPress, all the latest versions.

    Thank you
    Jess

Nope, tried on WordPress, was asked to ask the question here, but nobody responds. Elementor is of no help either. I deactivated Buddypress and add-ons/other plugin altogether and switched to Ultimate Member for my site; no issues there. Waste of money though.

Did you get resolution to this? I also have found a conflict with Elementor and Buddypress that Elementor confirmed but refuses to fix. They are saying it’s a third party problem and not theirs and told me to contact BuddyPress but no one at BP will respond to my ticket. I’m beginning to think this is intentional to force people to purchase from a competitor.

    WordPress version 6.1.1
    BuddyPress version 11.1.0.
    theme : Kleo

I have a question about displaying items (field) of members in a group.
I have a group directory where all my groups are displayed and all the single group page are created.
On a single group page, all the members in the group are displayed too.
On this specific page, for one member is displayed his avatar, his nice name and his activity.
I would to display another field like profession for example.
Is it possible ? By programming or plugin.
    Thank you for your answer.

I am currently using Buddyboss (extension of buddypress) to create a directory of users. It allows me to add a search bar. The problem is the search bar only pulls up members if you insert the entire name, i.e. “David Buddypress” would work but “David” won’t bring up anything. To note I am using Memberpress with the Memberpress + Buddypress Integration and the Buddyboss platform.

Is there a way to add more functionality to the search? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you for the update on BuddyPress 11.1.0! It’s great to hear that there have been some bug fixes in this maintenance release. WordPress users who have been experiencing issues should definitely consider updating as soon as possible to take advantage of these improvements. It’s always great to see open source software being maintained and improved upon by dedicated contributors, so kudos to the team behind this release!

I have deleted the default pages they were moved to the trash folder. However, I have also deleted them from the trash folder and now I’m unable to find a way to restore them.

I have tried looking for solutions online, but so far I haven’t been able to find anything that helps. I was wondering if anyone here could guide me on how to restore deleted pages in BuddyPress that were also deleted from the trash folder.

    Hi,
It seems like the disappearance of the post title from the action field in BuddyPress activity after the update to version 11 is a bug. You can report this issue to the BuddyPress development team or check if they have already addressed this issue in a subsequent update. In the meantime, you may want to consider downgrading to version 10.6 if you need to see the post titles in the action field.
    Regards,
    Bricied

In BuddyPress 10 (tested with 10.6), when a new blog post is published, the BuddyPress action field of a BuddyPress activity looks like this: <User> wrote a new post, <post title>. After the update to 11 (tested with 11.1), the post title disappeared from all old activities. When I downgrade to 10.6, the post titles reappear. The action field can be accessed through WordPress wp-admin in the Activity tab when you edit an activity entry.

Is this a feature or a bug?

Editing a post template is a straightforward process that can be achieved by logging into your account and selecting the template you wish to edit. Once you have selected the template of brand, you will be able to make changes to the layout, format, and content of the post. You can also add images, videos, and other media to your post template to make it more engaging. After making the desired changes, you can save the post template and it will be available to view on your site.

To edit a BuddyPress theme file, you will need to access the theme files on your WordPress installation. You can do this by logging into your WordPress admin dashboard, navigating to the Appearance > Themes page, and clicking the editor link of vehicle wrap pricing calculator for the theme you want to edit. This will open the theme files in the text editor, where you can make the changes you need. After making the changes, make sure to save the file, and then check to see how it looks on the front end of your site.

    Hello guys

I’m using BuddyPress on my multisite install. I would like to set it up so that the members that are displayed in the ‘Members’ section in the specific subsite are only members of that site, not all users/members from all sites in the multisite installation. How do I do that, please?

Using WP 6.1.1. and BP 11.1.0

    Thanks,
    Mikkel

Hey, suddenly the Featured image-function doesn’t work. When I add a new post and want to add the featured image and the media library-frame shows it selects an empty image. If I choose another image nothings happens. If I upload a new image it uploads correct and but it doesn’t appear in the Featured Image.

If I deactive BuddyPress it works 100% again and when I activate it the same problem appears again.
    Theme: Soledad

I think it happened when I updated WordPressa few weeks ago. Ofc I tried to reinstall Buddypress, reinstall WordPress etc.

    Any idea? Thanks!
Oh, and I can upload files to the media library. It’s only the featured image-function…

I’m having issues too. I contacted Elementor for support. They confirmed the conflict between Buddypress and Elementor but refused to fix it saying it was an third party (Buddypress) problem and not theirs. (I already submitted a ticket to BP but haven’t had a response yet.)

And just like you – it doesn’t matter which theme I use because my Elementor built Buddypress login/registration template/page still won’t work as long as Buddypress is enabled. I can’t even open the template to edit it as long as Buddypress is enabled.

I’m following your ticket here to see it will help bring attention to BP devs to fix this problem.

Still unable to open my Elementor built Buddypress login/registration form when Buddypress is enabled. I disabled everything else on my site except Buddypress and ELementor (disabled Elementor Pro) and even changed themes and still cannot get the edit template to open and the login/registration will not work when both Elementor and Buddypress are enabled. I’ve already contacted Elementor and they refuse to fix this because they say it’s a Buddypress problem and not an Elementor problem.

I even downloaded a previous version of Buddypress thinking maybe it was due to the recent update of 11.1.0 but I’m still unable to get it to work with Buddypress version 10.6.0.

I’d really appreciate a response from someone – ANYONE – to let me know if you’re even reading this. Last time I submitted a ticket was 6 months ago and I never got a response from BP. Does anyone work on this at all?

Hello everyone, I am seeing this error while doing an update in my local machine.

Warning: Trying to access array offset on value of type bool in C:[path]\wp-content\plugins\buddypress\bp-core\bp-core-avatars.php on line 1672

Any suggestions? I did an update of the plugin as well but didn’t seem to fix the problem.

    Thank you for your assistance.
