March 19, 2013 at 7:39 am #156754In reply to: how to hide admin activity on Buddypress activity?
@mercime
Participant@ubernaut the code provided by sbrajesh is only for Super Admin (multisite) or Site Admin (single WP) not for members who create a subsite. You’d need change is_site_admin to is_super_admin even when you use it in single WP install. is_site_admin had been deprecated some time after I posted sbrajesh’s code
I don’t recall trac ticket for this enhancement. Up to you to make a request in trac 🙂

ParticipantThanks, I have your plugin installed and activated. It is only blocking the “Members” page and not the “Activity” and “Groups” pages when logged out. Is there something else I need to modify in the PHP file to block those?
Thanks!

Participant@ skibler I can’t replicate the issue. Try deleting the code used above and downloading the plugin zip here:
https://github.com/bphelp/private_community_for_bp
install like a plugin. Then change the line 27 in private-community-for-bp.php to where you wanna redirect too.March 18, 2013 at 8:50 pm #156728bp-help
Participant@chouf1 No need in being nasty about it. I just thought you didn’t mind helping me since you had helped me before. I’m sorry! Anyway thanks for the other help you given it is appreciated.

Participanti have already helped you here for the same question: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/how-to-add-images-to-a-custom-toolbar/#post-156520
Let me tell you that you don’t ask for help now, but search somebody doing that plugin at your place. 👿
Go to the job board and hire a dev, if you don’t know go further with all the elements you already received. I’m not at your personal service !

ParticipantThanks bphelp, I used the code and have success except for in IE 8 the “Groups” and “Members” tabs are not working correctly – they are defaulting to the page I have set up for the redirect.
This is only happening in IE. I have tested in Chrome, Firefox and Safari with success.
Please help!

ModeratorYou can’t just install and not take action to limit server requests. You need to cache as much as possible and use a CDN. Also check logs you can have bots hitting site and you can block those.
Find out what is hitting ajax file and block it.

@mercime
Participant@amrvignesh based on the response and resolved status of this topic, the instructions worked out well for the OP for the theme version as of Nov. 16, 2012. If the theme has been updated/revised since then, that could be the reason why it’s not working for you. Site URI?

ParticipantHave either of you actually directed these questions/issues to the appropriate places?
https://github.com/Courseware/buddypress-courseware/issues
or the WP forum for the plugin.
I would also be seeking to get an understanding of whether this plugin is to be supported going forward as there seems to be some differings views I’ve seen and knowing one of the authors they are extremely busy with other projects.
Be very careful about building sites based on third party plugins, you have to have a fair idea they will be supported or learn the necessary skills to keep them running.
