Hi,

I have set a new size of the buddypress avatars with:
define ( ‘BP_AVATAR_FULL_WIDTH’, 250 );
define ( ‘BP_AVATAR_FULL_HEIGHT’, 250 );

I would regenerate all the avatars of my site to avoid need to upload all again. There is a way to do this?

Hi @style960

Email notifications are fired off instantly (unless queued by your mail server). Web notifications (as you’ve noticed) need a page refresh by default. Ajax would need to be put into place in order for them to become ‘live’. You can request this feature over at Trac but there’s no guarantee the functionality will make it into core.

I’m facing the same problem. Just installed WP on Virtualbox with Vagrant (VVV WordPress), created WPMU and then added the BuddyPress Multi Network plugin. All plain and clean, latest versions, no other whistles and bells.
Admin is marked as spammer, but status is green (active, not red(spammer)).

The bar you speak of is created by the theme used here on buddypress.org. If you’re using your own theme, then a bar such as that may or may not appear (depending on your theme). The good news is buddypress.org is now open sourced, so feel free to look at the code to see how it has been done.

Hello moderators.

I am using WP 4, Buddypress 2.1.1, and a buddypress specialized theme.

and I noticed a problem with the activity post excerpts.
Instead of a link and a read more text-
it displays […]. There is no link there and no read more text.

I found a few threads – very outdated

Thank you for answering.

About register, here on the BuddyPress site, written bar appears at the top:
“Anonymous” and when move the mouse over the option to appear:
Register, login, etc.

But, on my site not appear like this model above, why?
I want my site have this same model, please, how do I appear that way step by step?

Another question, please, you can make this option I described above, all appear on my login icon from my own bar theme of the my site ?

BuddyPress Like might not be what you want but I thought I’d point it out. You can customise the ‘like’ text via the WordPress admin area.

I’d like have an inbox for just unread messages. I suspect this would have my answer

Except the code appears to have been stripped out.

Any suggestions on how to create a new inbox type page just for unread messages?

Having a loop for unread messages followed by the loop for read messages is also acceptable but usability for that is impacted since hitting back after reading a message wouldn’t have that most recently read message under the “read” section.

Hey @professornate! Thanks for posting in the forums!

The issue you are seeing here is a result of some BuddyPress assets not loading. The site is throwing a Javascript error and that is preventing the page from loading.

First thing to try here is to deactivate and reactivate the BuddyPress plugin. If the issue persists, try changing your theme to one of the default WordPress themes (say, twentytwelve). I’m virtually certain that one of those steps will fix the issue. Let me know if it doesn’t.

If the issue is fixed by switching the theme to twentytwelve, try switching it back to your current theme. If the issue comes back, then there is something up with the theme and you should try re-installing it.

I tested the plugin “BuddyPress Component Stats”, it seems very good, but for “Blogs”, “Forum” and “Group”, it not shows data.
Why?

The second plugin is very old and I think that not works with buddyPress 2.x

Looking to see if some one can help me. I am not sure buddypress is even the right thing to use, but I feel it is close. Developing a mall website and they want the user to be able to register, subscribe to specific stores(post-type). Then the user will be notified of any new specials(post-type relation) via email of the stores they subscribed to. The user will also need a dashboard where they can unsubscribe from stores too.

I have buddypress running on a single site install and would like members to be able to write blog posts to my blog page. I would want them to be able to write posts and then for me to be able to approve them. It doesn’t matter to me if they are able to do this form the front end or the WP dashboard.

However, I do have multiple other post types. If I simply upgrade all of my members to the author level they will see all other post types which I do not want. Preferably if they need to use the wordpress backend to write the post all they would see is their user profile and posts and only be able to add a new one.

What is the best course of action here. I have seen some plugins that allow users to write post on the front end but those didn’t seem to work for me. Would it make more sense to just try and configure a user role plugin to allow my members author access to only the “posts” post type. If that is even possible…
