ParticipantAppreciated.
I am unable to make use of this. I included this in my Child Theme’s functions.php with no effect.
I created a bp-custom.php file and got the following:
`Fatal error: Cannot redeclare be_oembed_transparency() (previously declared in /misc/25/000/100/476/0/user/web/nagualgrove.com/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-group-css/bp-group-css.php:206) in /misc/25/000/100/476/0/user/web/nagualgrove.com/wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php on line 24`
Which doesn’t make sense because line 24 consists of:
`}`
I’m useless when it comes to PHP. CSS frustrates me enough, I’m only just learning that. So forgive my ignorance.

ParticipantHi,
If i understand well, i only need to add the code below (where 3 is the secondary blog ID) in wp-config.php, right?
`define ( ‘BP_ROOT_BLOG’, 3 );`
But where exactly? Does it make any difference if i place it one line or the other? Where should i put it? Before and after which line?
By the way, i guess i will, but could someone please confirm i can have a different and independent buddypress install for each of the blogs in the wordpress multisite network?

raphadko
Participantok this might sound weird.. but.. the JPEG saved actually had transparent background, take a look at this: http://www.arkade.com.br/wp-content/uploads/group-avatars/16/c57713e3bfea3eec42c644783894570c-bpfull.jpg
So, the thing is, it used to keep the bg transparent, even converting to a jped file. Now it converts to a black bg.. any thoughts on that?

Participantnever noticed, but i have the same bug on my site 1.6.3 Ms / WP 3.5
I just tried with a profile avatar. The background goes black on the image to crop and is transparent on the preview image. As soon as saved, it goes black and to jpg !
Unknown bug for me !January 24, 2013 at 10:00 pm #151672Faramarz
ParticipantI think I found a work around, thanks to @jigesh.
I added define( ‘BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG’, true ); to my wp-config and that lets me run the installation wizard.
Now let’s stop editing! Happy blogging. 😉

I’m sorry,i wrote it incorrectly. Avatar displays in resolution 100×100, but “buddypress” while addition changes its resolution in 35×35 in miniatures and because of that the picture displays very unintelligiblyJanuary 24, 2013 at 7:13 pm #151656In reply to: [Resolved] How to change 'Avatar' to 'Photo'

ParticipantHallo @talha8877
Excuse me, my English is not so good, unfortunately.
I used the plugin Cartpauj PM Plugin from Mingle, as I have found as yet no viable solution to the buttons (message etc) of the BuddyPress insertion into posts / Articels.
So now I turn off the message part of BuddyPress and linking all the Cartpauj PM, which works wonderfully, except out of BuddyPress. There does not work.
Of Cartpauj in single.php just the link:
<a href = "/ news / pmaction newmessage = & to = “> Send
. put But as I said, the link works in BuddyPress indeed, but does not with the member users, which I will write. Since I’m still looking for a solution. Evtentuell with: bp user id, funktioiert might not.
So who has a solution to integrate Cartpauj PM in buddybress, bring it on.
That´s it
Thank you

Participanthi @ngoegan,
on what type of host are you ? Shared, VPS ? How many memory_limit do you have on your server ?
On cheap host, using WP+BP is already to much. If you add 1 or 2 plugins and a cache plugin, it comes to quickly to disaster….But also you can’t ask for help if you don’t play with the common rules. You are using latest WP & BP and a outdated plugin. Don’t be surprised that it doesn’t work ! Or very wobbly…
Private BuddyPress
Requires: 3.0, BuddyPress 1.2 or higher
Compatible up to: 3.1, BuddyPress 1.3Deactivate it and you will certainly see a difference.
You also use WP Super Cache. Don’t forget to clear the cache and to deactivate this plugin while testing BP.January 24, 2013 at 5:09 pm #151642In reply to: sub-directory

ParticipantH’mm sorry, I have some problems with the forum Software 🙁
If I write an text with php inside it says:`ERROR: Your reply cannot be created at this time.`
I added it into buddypress because I added a few subpages and other bp-stuff into the buddypress-member directory
Does this answers your question?January 24, 2013 at 4:35 pm #151640Faramarz
Participant@modemlooper I installed BP (not activated yet) but the article is kinda vague for my next step. The article on step (1) says: https://codex.buddypress.org/user/install-buddypress-on-a-secondary-blog/
In order to run Buddypress on a secondary blog, you should create a second blog and modify BuddyPress’ internal settings to set your new blog as the BP root blog.
Next, define the ‘root’ blog you would like BuddyPress to reside at by adding the code snippet below to wp-config.php
I created my bp-custom under wp-content/plugins/ but should I add this “define ( ‘BP_ROOT_BLOG’, $blog_id );” in my wp-config.php or in bp-custom.php? or both?
Please help.

ParticipantI got this site after my predecessor, so I wasn’t involved in the decision process.
Who cares !
Latest stable BP is version 1.6.3 and yes combining slightly different things is not the best practice.
Recommandation is to use it on WP 3.5
Read here in the sidebar:
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress/BP 1.5.2 required at least WP 3.3 (déc. 2011)
changelog https://codex.wordpress.org/Version_3.3
changelog https://codex.wordpress.org/Version_3.4
changelog https://codex.wordpress.org/Version_3.5Also what theme do you use and have you deactivated all plugins while debugging ?
Passwword management is done by WPAnyway, you need to fix WP registering first on twenty10, than together with BP on the bp-default theme

ParticipantHello,
Can someone help me adjust that css which resized my pictures?
If you look here: http://thecashlab.com/forum/
I have now added a ‘forums’ section and I am getting the funny image size thing again – but only for the forums index (not the topic index that @mercime fixed last time).
Thanks,

bruceleebee
ParticipantHey @mercime,
They definitely get the activation email. I have it setup with an SMTP email service (mandrill) and have tested it to make sure it avoids spam filters. So it gets sent, and it lands in the inbox – and they are activating their email – but then they don’t login again or they request a password change or something. It’s not all users, but enough to try and make a fix.
I think it’s like this…
They sign up for an account – do some other stuff – come back and see an activation email so they click on it… but now they have forgotten then details they used when signing up. Or they sign up – log in – but then come back a day or two later and have forgotten their details.
If a welcome email was sent with their user details (like most sites do) they would have it stored somewhere they can access it again and again whenever they forget.
Do you know how I can set this up? plugin or otherwise?

ParticipantWhat does it mean to be BuddyPress compatible anyway? Why is it that the best plugins, SocialAuth-WordPress, WordPress Social Login, AddThis Social Sign In aren’t ‘BuddyPress optimized’?
I’m having a developer implement one of these for our site, and I’d be glad to share what we needed to do to ensure that we have a registration form with a few required fields, and existing users can use this service as well.
