    @dubbinz,

    put a copy of /bp-default/groups/single/forums/edit.php file into your child theme

    (/your-child-theme/groups/single/forums/edit.php)

    and remove line 53 & 54 (respectively label and input HTML) from this copy.

    @dubbinz what’s your BP version? Are you using the internal bbPress BP forums for groups or the bbPress plugin’s group forums?

    Actually that price is not unreasonable and your requirement would take more than some simple code. You need to keep in mind most people including moderators do not get paid to help you and they graciously give what extra time they have to the forum. I am grateful for what these guys do. I don’t mean to be rude but you need to do a little of the legwork yourself and don’t expect others will do it for you everytime you have an issue. Take some initiative and start figuring out what you desire to accomplish!

    and regarding Boone Gorges statment….?

    @wilsoncortezribeiro
    Boone is a BP Lead Dev so of course he’s right 🙂 The link I gave above are the options you have for your existing BP’s internal bbPress Group Forums.

    Thanks mercime

    I was really interested on what moebis posted there even for testing purposes but i could not find out where exactly to hack that code, You know?

    For now I´ll stay with the default buddypress forum instead plus that very nice plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-group-hierarchy/   and another one to attach some images on forum´s topics. i guess they´ll do trick 😉

    <code>Multiple forums per BuddyPress Group is started in bbPress, but likely won’t be finished for several months.</code>

    And that said let´s wait for the leadres.

    Once more thank you

    Ps. I´ve heard from Boone Gorges ( http://www.youtube.com/embed/PTNdMn8rGlg ) that native buddypress forums will not get updated anymore but i don´t think it  will be just cutted  off from bp 1.7.xx  and further. What you think?

    Maybe review your site settings: dashboard > Settings > Discussions > uncheck “Visibility for search engines”

    You need to style that, layouts as such are for the end user to build, the old-ish bp-default had one particular layout that best suited all requirements, if you wanted something different you needed to create that as a theme.

    The grid layout style therefore needs to be built, the markup is there and can be styled, there is even a guide to doing this now, by iirc wpmu on pollyplumbers blog.

    Spam isn’t something that’s going to be tackled by the core to any great extent WP relies on plugins to combat this- look for a thread on this forum asking for testers for a new spam plugin that is looking very promising.

    @wilsoncortezribeiro I don’t know what you expect from us when the Project Lead of both BuddyPress and bbPress already mentioned

    Multiple forums per BuddyPress Group is started in bbPress, but likely won’t be finished for several months.

    What moebis posted there was hacking bbPress core file which is not recommended at all. Of course that wouldn’t stop coders who know what they’re doing and would be able to create a fix when bbPress is upgraded. Still, it’s not kosher to hack core files at all.

    Is it possible to assign Groups to Forums?

    @clendanielc
    You only need one WP/BP installation. It’s more of allowing Groups to create Group Forums https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ Forum visibility will be based on your Group’s Privacy Settings

    After a quick look it’s clear this theme is fairly complex and integrates a number of plugins BP being one, so in theory this is a BP compatible theme; for issue therefore with this you really need to direct them to the authors on their support forum:

    @charlietech,

    MU aka MS is a WP setting and has no effect on the BP template.

    You have to search on this forum, this question was frenquently answered and resolved.

    @saukgp,

    this is what i suspected. 😉
    Go to your theme support and see if a solution is provided on that forum.
    You can also go throught the theme code and try to find the issue, maybe a missing tag probably or you can use another theme.
    I wouldn’t recommand you the template pack to do that, because BP 1.7 is a few days/weeks away and would normally fit with most existing themes.
    If this is your first BP install and if you’re building already a site, consider of upgrading now to BP 1.7RC2

    @ajchimera,

    For sure ! Copy/pasting from this forum is a mess.

    You have to change the quotes to straight quotes. That’s all.

    I agree with @bphelp – child themes are the best option. I’ve been using child themes to make changes to main themes but I’m not yet able to understand how to achieve this with BuddyPress. I have read @hnla ‘s document but the instructions are not clear (at least to me).

    I think the issue is lack of a header file but that’s not mentioned in the guide. The pages load but without ANY styles. The registration page has a header but not activity. Activity page begins with div id=”buddypress” and has no footer either. I’m sure this is easy to fix but I want to use the recommended method.

    Is there a document that clearly states the files required in the child theme? I have copied ALL the files from the legacy folder but @hnla ‘s document appears to state that only the files that require editing need copying (so long as the directory structure is maintained)

    Sorry for not “getting” this – I’ve tried doing the research but it’s never clear whether the instructions relate to 1.7 or the “quite” different previous versions.

    A list of the contents of the child-theme folder are listed below:

    activity (taken from ../bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/)
    blogs (taken from ../bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/)
    css (taken from ../bp-templates/bp-legacy)
    forums (taken from ../bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/)
    functions.php (contains a couple of functions – created by me and not bp related)
    groups (taken from ../bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/)
    members (taken from ../bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/)
    registration (taken from ../bp-themes/bp-default)
    rtl.css (empty of rules)
    shortcodes_bp.php (couple of shortcodes – created by me and not bp related)
    style.css (child theme required file)
