Am I getting through. I have a bug issue I am trying to resolve.
Noticed my users are not uploading avatars… checked on my admin profile and there is no ‘add /edit avatar’ there… there is edit cover photo…
checked in the html / view source.. it’s not there.tried changing to 2019 theme – no differnce.
checked settings – buddypress – have checkbox for allow users to upload avatar..
disabled a few plugins.. still nothing.
checked support forums here.. updated php to 7.4.
still not working.
WP – 5.5.1
BP 6.3.0
Salient theme via themeforest – although fails with 2019 theme
url: chatyolo.comhave caches and cdns.. but did purging..
site health check does show Warning The optional module, imagick, is not installed, or has been disabled.
but.. cover photos is working.. so assuming it’s something else at this point.
I did notice other issues similar with avatar in forums via recent posts – not seeing solutions.
help appreciated please,
Steve
Topic: Privacy Policy
Hi,
I use this plugin for a forum. On my registration form I have the privacy policy with a box that you have to tick in order to register. The link to the privacy policy is also included, but it opens in the same window. Is there an easy way to make sure that when you click on privacy policy, the page opens in a new window?[This is a repost as my first post seems to be corrupted, cannot be edited and doesn’t display on the site]
Hello, I am seeing an issue where the BuddyPress plugin seems to be breaking the forum “Subscribe” / “Unsubscribe” links on bbPress. Strangely, it works if JS is enabled (and therefore XHR is used), but does nothing if JS is disabled and the embedded link[1] is used. It just reloads the same page without actually changing the subscribed / unsubscribed state with no errors.
Notes:
- I have tested this with all other plugins disabled.
- Disabling the BuddyPress plugin causes both to work correctly.
- Tried enabling / disabling all combinations of Buddypress bp-components with no effect.
I upgraded both plugins and PHP to the latest versions:
PHP: 7.4.10 Wordpress: 5.5.1 Theme: Divi 4.6.5 (tried others like twentytwenty 1.5) bbPress: 2.6.5 BuddyPress: 6.3.0
Questions:
- Are there any known issues I should look into?
- Any suggestions where to look for debugging? I have WP_DEBUG enabled, but nothing useful in logs. I have tried using Query Monitor plugin, but its a bit unclear where to start looking.
NOTE: I am new to WordPress and its plugin architecture, but have extensive HTML/CSS/JS/bash shell experience and am comfortable in PHP.
Thanks in advance!
Jonathan
[1] Embedded subscribe link which fails:
/forum/FORUMNAME/?action=bbp_subscribe&object_id=361&object_type=post&_wpnonce=XXXXXXXScenario: BB Press + BuddyPress (well, Buddyboss, technically) Site has multiple forum topics.
I have a “Political” forum. Since most of the topics are divisive, I want to exclude all topics in the “Politics” from going to the BuddyPress activity feed.
All of the Forums will still work the same way, I just don’t want the topics in that forum, or the responses to the topics to be shown in the Activity Feed.
Is there a snippet I can add that will exclude those topics?
Hello BuddyPress community,
I am working on customizing Buddypress and would like to modify some structures.I followed some tips on this forum, for example, to change the structure of the members page:
I copied this file: bp-templates/bp-nouveau/buddypress/members/members-loop.php
in my theme folder: my-child-theme/buddypress/members/members-loop.phpSo I modified the file in a few lines to try, but any changes are not applied.
Am I wrong?
BuddyPress plugin 6.3.0
Wordpress 5.5.1
Template Hello by Elementor (child)Entries on the forum are disappearing. In other words, I could see those entries a few days ago (when logged in as a user called “John”), but today I cannot see those entries any more (I am logged in as the same user “John”)
However, I can still see those entries under the activity menu (from the backend i.e. when logged in as “Admin”)
Any idea why this is happening?
How to stop this from happening?
Thank you.
Required info:
WordPress version : 5.5.1
BuddyPress version: 6.3.0
Site: https://www.escanada.org/My WP version is 5.4.2
My BuddyPress version is 6.3.0I’m currently trying to figure out how I can get @-mentions in blog post comments to integrate with the buddypress activity and notifications systems. The most recent comments of #4046 claims notifications should be sent for @-mentions in blog posts at the very least, but I can’t seem to get it to work. Other threads asking this question point to this ticket claiming it’s an unimplemented feature, so between what the forums say and what the ticket comments say I can’t tell if that’s actually how it’s supposed to work or not.
So my question is, is sending notifications for @-mentions in blog posts supported in BuddyPress? And if so, is this feature currently working?
Hello,
For what we want on our website its necesarry to have only private groups created by the users. I did a lot of reading about this but all forum post and information is over 8 years old regarding this matter.
We need this because people will discuss personal en private information in the groups. To make it as simple as possible we look for a way to make the group creation like its only possible to create a private group.
(it would be awesome if admin can create public or hidden groups)
So, what do we have to do to remove the creation settings for hidden and public groups for our visitors/members? and ofcourse that it keeps working!
Its not only removing the code form a file we think but also the setting that the private group is marked to get installed.
Sorry for any bad english
Regards
Jap
