ParticipantHi Chouf1,
Thank you for your helping me. I deleted all my pages, emptied my trash, and started clean by uninstalling BP and trying to reinstall. But i still get the same problem…

ParticipantThe probleme occurs because you haven’t the good page for the forum. You certainly have some trashed pages, especially forums menu leads to /sample-page/ Also members leads to members-2 because there is a page nammed member in the trash….
In few words, this is not a regular install.Pages who are in the trash are not delayed permanently. You need to clear the trash to do so.
First delete permanently all the pages related to BP and delete the trash. Then go back to the page settings of BP and recreate them from there, accordingly to your BP components.

ParticipantDoes anyone have a solution for this? I am facing the same problem. Some new users are not receiving the activation email. It is not going to their spam folders. I estimate about every 5th user does not get the email. I can tell who doesn’t receive the email because their Forum Role is blank. Is there a way to generate and re-send the activation email, or manually activate these users? Thank you.

ParticipantHi @chouf1,
Certainly it isn’t default behaviour.
But If the basis Group Forums is bbpress it can be done.
The more so in the database the name of forums are recorded.
Maybe someone could suggest a code which could have list forums?January 20, 2013 at 6:41 pm #151227In reply to: [Resolved] Administration layout disappeared

ParticipantIt’s a mars-venus virus attack, very malicious and incredibly fresh bloodthirsty specially developped to attack YOUR site 👿
You’re now fatally infected and already banned for health reasons from all forums on earth and his near neibourghood.

Perhaps you simply forgot to save your admin layout changes ?
It’s a wordpress question. I’m affraid you’re at the wrong place here. 😀January 20, 2013 at 6:08 pm #151221In reply to: Add list of Group Forums in Group Forum template

Participanthi @lrv,
Now at the Group Forum page listed only topics from all Groups
for sure it’s default behaviour !
But below each topic title, aside author’s name, you have also the group forum name.
And if this is not enought, you also have the built-in Group widget who list all the existing public groups. And if they have forums, it’s also (indirectly) a forum list. And this widget is showing on all pages not only on the group forum template.January 20, 2013 at 4:24 pm #151215wantfreethinking
ParticipantThat worked just like you said for the forums, which is great. Can I just add that code to another line to make it work the same way for making posts on the group pages? That way the text box for making posts is always there and you automatically join the group when you make a post.

Participant@mercime Thanks for the mention! Just wanted to drop a note in here that the BP-WP Profile Reviews plugin you mentioned has been updated. Many issues were handled in this release. I do keep an eye on the forums and a great way to get a hold of me is email. Thanks again!

ParticipantOK, I’m sure that BuddyPress has a big issue! When you have a group and allowed the group forum, so everything runs well, until the group forums to disable and then enable it.
Appears this error (see below) and group forum topic “falls” into the sitewide forum as private. When clicked on it, takes you back to a group forum topic with the same error!! BuddyPress is mad and my project is stopped and I’m screwed. I am sorry, I have a lot of work the last few days, and all work is useless.

ParticipantSo with 1.7, does that mean buddypress will be down to sitewide forums and bbpress plugin instead of three choices?

@mercime
Participant@diondeville You’re welcome 🙂
@tarkham can’t quite get what you mean.
>> bbPress slug = sitewide forums = discussions right? So example.com/discussions
>> So if you kept the slug of group forums = forums, then example.com/forums
Why would you redirect the URL of either to another?January 19, 2013 at 7:06 pm #151144Mathieu Viet

Participant@limitx3m The BP group forums will be merged into the bbPress sitewide forums in upcoming BP 1.7. Please hold off conversion to group forums at this time.

ParticipantThis is not a question suitable for BP forum really, I suggest you scan the WP plugin repo and ask the question on the WP forums where you will likely get better feedback.

ParticipantI made a several installations and tests and I am convinced it is the fault of BuddyPress! Please read:
- First, I created as admin new Group1 and created a new topic.
- Then I created a new User.
- I logged in to BuddyPress as Admin and I invite the User to friendship.
- I logged in as User and received friendship.
- I logged in as Admin and I invited the User to the Group1 and as User accepted the invitation.
- Admin created three different group forum topic in the Group1.
- As a User I saw them all, everything is great!
- Then I created as User a new group Group2.
- I created new group forum Topic. – And now beware! –
- I logged in as Admin and I saw a group forum on all topics. Three topics of my Group1, and one topic of the second Group2, which was created by the User and before I became a member. Everything is great!
- But then I logged in as User and in the group forum have not seen any topic!!! Wat is wrong? Bad day? No, may be BuddyPress fault!
- So I signed up as Admin, and now I’ve seen topics only my Group1!
- Then I went into the WordPress administration and what I see: In bbPress Forum administration (sidewide forums) is my Group1 that I created as Admin! This is absolutely crazy and a big problem!!!
- Then I did again test of disabling group forums of Group1 in group adminitrsation.
- Then I enabled the group forums and clicked on the forums link as I described above. I got exactly the same error as described above and haven’t nothing functional group forum topics.
It makes me unhappy because I do not know how to properly install BuddyPress Group Forums and SiteWide Forums. And I do not know if the latest version of the components are compatible together.
There are many guides to install everything to be smooth, but the instructions are different than BuddyPress documentation or Salutation template. For example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0jSsra_n0c or http://youtu.be/M8mh3f6Vzbo

Participant@mercime Maybe I am totally lost here, but I am guessing my blogs directory page is my main install page? I am running multisite and need my users to be able to create a blog after they register because my registration process is done through a different forum software.
I installed wordpress multisite into domain.com/blogs. I then installed buddypress and activated it. So, is my blog directory page domain.com/blogs? If so, I still do not see a button.
Thanks for the help.
