    @leonardoarias
    Hi Leo…ran across this while searching for a solution to just posting comments in general. I’ve been having problems posting to the BP forums and know one has responded to my previous posts with a solution that works…

    Your blog isn’t set to ‘Discourage search engines from indexing this site’ in the backend under Settings—>Reading is it?

    No forum stuff will be posted to the stream in that case.

    This is not a bump, but additional information.

    So It looks like in addition to my single forum topic admin links all 404-ing, the post counter (which is supposed to show the number of posts for each topic) is always at zero, no matter how many posts there are in a topic (hmm, peculiar).

    I checked out the wp_bb_topics table in my database and certainly those numbers are there (number of posts, of various numbers – obviously there should always be 1 if there is a topic).

    So what gives, why isn’t my buddypress set up reading from the topic table in the database, I am guessing this might be the reason why it goes to edit these topics, but they can’t find them (even though they are there)?

    Hi @mercime , @chouf1 , @djpaul ,

    Thanks again for your help, just made a WordPress repo request. So the plugin will soon be available there.

    If you find any other bug meanwhile, please let me know 😉

    I’ve been experiencing the same issues since I started this process over 2 weeks ago. I can create groups, forums and post replies… however, within the group and/or forum or even after going in using the “Activity” link on my sidebar to access the “Activity Stream Directory” page, I CAN NOT do the following:

    OK, here’s what I can offer in the way of isolating the problem.

    I wanted to see if it was my server or any changes I made to the theme. It was not!

    I went ahead and did a completely fresh restall of everything. When i got wordpress multisite with buddypress working again, I did not have a problem with editing the topics.

    Then I brought in my custom theme files: Again nothing was off, everything worked as it should in editing topics.

    It was only when I brought in my database of existing users and content did I get the 404!

    So it is something wrong in the database.

    What in buddypress would cause topics to 404 based on something off in the database?

    @rayela I downloaded and installed the Easy Invitation Codes plugin for BuddyPress here: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/baw-invitation-codes/developers/ (Under the “Other Versions” section) and to avoid the false update (which updates to the WordPress version) I changed the version number, found in the baw-invitation-codes/bp-eic.php, from version 1.0 to 1.0.4

    It’s actually easier than you think to find that file and edit the version number. Simply go to Plugins > Installed Plugins, find “BP Easy Invitation Codes” in the plugin list and click “Edit”. It’ll take you right to the file you need. It looks like this:

    /*
    Plugin Name: BP Easy Invitation Codes
    Plugin URI: http://mediatricks.com
    Description: BP Visitors have to enter an invitation code to register on your site. The easy way!
    Version: 1.0
    Author: Mediatricks
    Author URI: http://mediatricks.com
    License: GPLv2
    */

    Just add a .4 to the end of the version number and remember to check the Developer section of the plugin for updates, instead of updating automatically. Hopefully they’ll separate the two plugins soon so that we can update automatically. I’ve mentioned it in the support forum.

    Once you’re set up, all you have to do is create an invitation code, which can be whatever you want, and email it to your friends. Check out the screenshots section for the plugin: https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/baw-invitation-codes/screenshots/ It’ll give you a better idea of how it works.

    Yeah! buddypress <3 do this!

    Restrict Acess – OK
    Closed Forum – OK
    Calendar – OK

    But, I can´t find any plugin to user sell and pay for products.

    I have WooCommerce, but only admin can sell to users.

    To upgrade WooCommerce, you must buy http://themekraft.com/shop/woocommerce-for-buddypress/

    My buddypress http://www.somdefabrica.com.br/site

    It´s a Music Community.

    You will use the buddypress to ?

    I’m having this same issue. Is there any way to solve this without going into myphpadmin? This has a solution:

    http://wpmu.org/daily-tip-fix-for-buddypress-group-forums-error-when-creating-a-new-topic/

    but I don’t know how to do it. Is there any front end way of fixing it? I tried the clicking unclicking thing but it didn’t work.

    i’m back !

    This time i think version 1.0-beta2 of the plugin can work on these configs without bugs !

    • BuddyPress 1.6.3 with group forums & sitewide forums powered by bbPress 1.2
    • BuddyPress 1.6.3 with group forums powered by bbPress 1.2 & site wide forums by bbPress 2.2.3
    • BuddyPress 1.7 with group forums & site wide forums powered by bbPress 2.2.3
    • bbPress 2.2.3 alone

    To test this new beta, make sure the root folder name of the plugin keep the same name.

    @mercime i added an image to show you where the select boxes are in bbPress 2.2.3 to my reply on github.

    Have you tested to change the support status from the backend admin of the topics (bbPress 2.2.3) ?

    the link to 1.0-beta2 of buddy bbPress Topic Support

    @chouf1 , this now should work like a charm 😉

    Just for the record. I could not find the issue and re-built the site… One of those occasions when a DB backup does not help. Thanks for those who tried helping me out.

    Hello @mercime and @chouf1

    The only config i haven’t tested was this one 🙁 I thought as in backend it is not recommanded to do so, then..

    So i’ll check this asap to see what’s going wrong when bbPress 1.2 is running for group forums and at the same time bbPress 2.2.3 is runnig sitewide forums.

    For what @chouf1 describes, it’s because the js is not enqueued as bbPress 2.2.3 is activated. So i need to strip a condition and check what’s happening on the different configs..

    For what @mercime describes in point B on github, i have no idea at the moment, but will find 😉

    Thanks a lot for your testing. I’ll be back soon with a new beta 😉

    @imath posted issues in github. basically same as chouf1 above with the group forum when bbPress is activated and on bbPress sitewide forums. Getting there 🙂

    @imath,

    wow, works like a charm !
    Tested it on the devsite (wp 3.5 & BP 1.6.3) with group forums and single bbPress forum.

    Unable to change the status on group forum post when bbPress plugin is activated.

    Does this mean that the plugin can actually only be used on one configuration: group forums OR bbPress forum ?

    Aside, a little js conflict with BP GTM System 1.9.6. 😀 (as expected….)

    When GTM is activated, i’m unable to change the status on the frontend of the site wide forum. Only possible from within admin.

    Is that the problem, that’s keeping the forums from showing at /forums? that’s it, hahah I can’t believe that’s it.

    Hrrm, Though when I click it now, after disabling that, I do not get a list of forums still… ???

    @jase-cook If you don’t need group forums and plan only to have sitewide forums, then go to admin Settings > BuddyPress > Components and uncheck “Discussion Forums” https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/configure-buddypress-components/#settings-buddypress-components

    As for the sitewide forums, the default slug is forums. If you want to keep that, then leave as is. If you want to change it to something else e.g. “Discussions”, change the forum slug in Settings > Forums, then create a new Page named Discussions. Add bbPress shortcode like [bbp-forum-index] or choose from https://codex.bbpress.org/shortcodes/
