ParticipantI want to enable or activate my Share Button (i.e. integrated by buddyshare, in activity tab) when admin approve the post. I have already installed Buddypress Moderation plugin, now it must have to modify somewhere for this. I need assistance.
Reply Soon and thanks in advance…November 15, 2012 at 9:05 am #145041In reply to: [Resolved] body_class filter for buddypress pages
Pepperbase
ParticipantHi,
Well it is a pagelines (a theme) plugin. Here is the plugin code: https://gist.github.com/4077479
Naturally, I posted this question on their forum. They answered that it is probably a buddypress problem, because they are using a wordpress filter. The plugin does add body classes (for browsers and devices) on all other pages (non buddypress pages).
Why should this not be working on buddypress pages? Yes. I have little knowledge of buddypress, that is why I am here.

ParticipantPretty much so. Add activity, groups, forums, registration.

ParticipantI was thinking exactly the opposite. Thanks for clarifying the differences between both the plugins.
I want to have different domains with different sites/groups/activities/forums etc but I want to share the users among all the different networks i.e. once a user signs up, then he/she should be able to login and use any of the BP network site in the entire network.So I basically need https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-multi-network/
I just checked the plugin page and it says: Segregate your BP networks in a multi-network WP install.
Requires BuddyPress 1.5 or greater.This plugin segregates BuddyPress social networks in a multi network WordPress install so that each WP network has a different social network. The user base is still shared across the WP install.
Multiple WP networks can be created with either:
WP Multi Network
Networks+
Q: Does this mean I need to install “WP Multi Network” along with “BP-Multi-Network” plugin?
If yes, which one first and which one 2nd to install?November 15, 2012 at 12:23 am #145024In reply to: [Resolved] removing ”create an account” link
@mercime
Participant@loec By default, you don’t get notification of replies from this group forum unless you have been @ mentioned.
== removing ”create an account” link ==
On your original topic post, simplest way is to just delete it from your theme file/s.== I want participants to complete a survey and click a link to the registration page. ==
There is no plugin that I know of that can do this at this time. You’d either have to code it yourself or hire a developer to do so.The manual way is to create a form which includes an email address field and when the answers are acceptable, you’d email the registration page URL to the applicant which could be good for 5 days. That registration URL/slug can be changed after 5 days.

ParticipantWhere are you hosted? Windows or Unix/Linux server? What theme are you using? What plugins are activated? Have you gone through basic troubleshooting like deactivating other plugins except BP and changing to BP default theme?
November 14, 2012 at 7:38 pm #145014In reply to: BuddyPress pages widght and sidebar problems
@mercime
Participant== They are at /gonzo next to normal sidebar and header ==
If so, then something’s wrong with the BP folders/templates transferred to your Gonzo theme folder and that’s why these BP templates are not picking up header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php you uploaded to your theme folder in server.
One solution is to get a fresh set of templates. Delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your gonzo theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.

ParticipantWell, for whatever reason, setting a password for the registration page didn’t work. I set a password for the registration page, but clicking “create an account” on the welcome page takes you straight to the registration page – no password requirement pops up.
So this question is still open.
Also, for some reason I am not getting notification of replies from this forum.

Participant== i just want to fix the forum index problem thats all… ==
The forum index along with the other BP components are affected by the two BP compatibility files we created for this theme. Did you upload the two files to server wp-content/themes/gonzo, same level where you’d still find the sidebar.php and header.php files?

ParticipantWhy have you done it a first time then? If you are awaiting a response to a personal email then that is a matter between you and the other party, just because they have a presence here is not reason to be hassling them for a response.
If the matter is plugin related and the plugin is in the WP repo then you should address the issue to the plugins forum there, if a BP plugin then there will be a plugin group here, so address the issue outlined properly on a thread in that group.
Either way attempting to prompt a member to respond to an email is not acceptable forum posting – anywhere.
So yes this thread will be closed. I suggest you ask the question in an open thread that the author or any other member could perhaps help with.

ParticipantActually, you can disable commenting of forum posts and blog posts in activity stream. Just go to wp-admin Settings > BuddyPress > Settings – Activity Settings – Blog & Forum Comments –> uncheck Allow activity stream commenting on blog and forum posts

Participant@themightymo Yes, post feature requests aka enhancements there. Know that feature requests with patches already attached are welcome. Providing patches to fix bugs in trac will get you the warmest welcome

Before posting, you should do a search first to see if someone has already posted same enhancement there. Do also check out https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/roadmap

Participant== I am running on a sub-directory Multisite installation ==
Just to clarify – do you mean you installed WP in domain root and your network is subdirectory structure or that you installed WP in a physical subdirectory and went multisite?
Where are you hosted? Unix or Windows server?
Did you install your WP manually i.e., via FTP and wp-admin/install.php or did you use webhost script to install WP e.g. fantastico, softalicious,etc.? If you installed via webhost script, please delete installation and start from scratch.

Participant@mercime – Thanks for the info. I was also wondering that about the WP.org forums.

Is this (https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/) the right place to put a buddypress.org feature request? It seems awkward, since I am not requesting a new feature be added to BP core. I have never submitted a BP ticket, so I want to make sure I start off on the right foot.

Participant== What it doesn’t show is whether or not someone replied to my reply. ==
I know what you mean, ala WPorg forums. We don’t have that notification nor custom view at this time for the group forums. I use https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-group-email-subscrioption/ for own sites.
Not sure whether a feature enhancement for the aforementioned will be entertained at this time because come BP 1.7, group forums will be migrated/merged with sitewide forums. If you feel strongly about it, you can open trac ticket for this.

ParticipantAlright.
Removed the two lines from wp-config.php – a couple of things happened:
1) My website is now displaying as I would imagine a default install would.
2) My “Forums” subdir network no longer has settings for Buddypress (anywhere – including “Dashboard” submenu and “Settings” submenu); instead…
3) My “Forums” subdir now has the yellow bar at the top of the wp-admin, with “BuddyPress was successfully activated! Please run the installation wizard.”Clicking that link gives me the message “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”.

ParticipantIf I remove those two lines from the wp-config.php, then I would have been unable to successfully run through the setup. I will test removing it now and get back to you.
