    Do you have any ‘privacy’ plugins or something like a redirect_to_forum() function in your bp-custom.php file such as in https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/too-many-redirects-in-chrome-404-in-ff-when-trying-to-accees-group-ater-update/ ?

    If so try disabling it / them as they may need updating / replacing *

    By default, you cannot limit users per forum or group. This would have to be accomplished by a plugin; there might be a plugin that exists out there that does this, but nothing comes to mind at the moment.

    OK. Now, I see another forum topic that says:

    @mercime said 1 day, 19 hours ago:
    The plugins have always been hosted at the WP Plugin Repository. You can find a list of plugins tagged BuddyPress @ https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=buddypress

    No problem, but I suggest it could be a good idea to do a URL redirection when the users clics to “Plugins”.menu. Regards,

    @guitaragora Based on the structure of your theme, you need to change 16 template files within the 6 BP folders transferred to your wallbase theme folder in server during the compatibility process.

    If you’ve previously changed any of the BP template files in your wallbase theme folder in server, replace all of them for a clean slate by deleting the 6 BP folders – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility.

    Download the 6 clean BP folders to your computer hard drive.

    A. At the top of each of those 16 template files I linked to above, replace
    `

    `

    with the following:
    `

    <div class="post" id="post-“>

    `

    Then, in each of 16 files, you’d like to change the BP Templates’ page title’s header tag from `

    ` or `

    ..

    ` to `

    // Titles Of Respective BP Page Templates //

    ` and move this page title to above `

    `

    Save files.

    Yes, I have assigned a page to forums, and the bb-config.php file was on the site root directory and not in a folder
    What is next as the forum page is still blank?

    What version of Buddypress are you running? Since 1.6 the “Buddybar” has been replaced in exchange for the WordPress Admin Bar. When you initially upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6 it asks you which bar you want. Here’s a forum post on how to get it back that might be helpful.

    Just to re-iterate what @karmatosed is asking: you need to assign a wordpress page to the forums: http://screencast.com/t/ssfUP6jqLRWl

    If that’s done, and you have FTP access to your site, you could check to see if the bb-config.php file has been created: it should be sitting at the root of your site (not inside a folder like wp-content). There is a link in this forum post to the bb-config file if you need to manually add it:

    line 42 `require( bp_get_option( ‘bb-config-location’ ) );`

    I hope you have back up of your server files and DB before upgrading. Check if you still have bb-config.php (created when you installed Group forums) at the root of your WP installation which is in the same level where you’d find your wp-config.php.

    @sceko merge group forum with sitewide forum BP 1.7 or so.

    I went to install Forum for Groups. I ticked Use Existing Installation but instead of going to the next screen titled new bb installation, it stayed on the same screen with the only option of Uninstalling Group Forums.

    It does not give the screen where you put the location of the bb-config.php file.
    Can you help?

    Trac can have a relatively narrow discussion. Forums have a larger audience and greater participation.

    Besides I can;t log into trac for some reason.

    Point noted Hugo.

    – You’re right about having to share to read the solution but wrong about the price to sign up. The content is only available after sharing but the site is free to join.

    – I figured out the bp-labs code change myself and the solution IS NOT copied from anyone. Before finding the solution, I browsed through all the forums here but they couldn’t help me so I posted the solution I found for myself.

    @umagokhale

    CAn you not spam the forum with multiple posts to the same page on your site. It is noted that:

    – The content is not available unless you either join your site at a price or share the link to the page on ones social networks

    – The content is not yours but taken from elsewhere but without due attribution (please feel free to correct that if not true)

    I’m removing the posts as they appear to simply be an attempt at SEO gaming using this support forum.

    If you have a problem with that decision please feel free to contact one of the core developers.

    So lets now leave this to a discussion on Trac? Really not sure why you are trying to achieve by running this forum thread and the detailed trac tickets noted above, it’s not going to necessarily tip things in favour of your opinion.
