InactiveTry my plugin here: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-friendpress/ see this is what your after. After installation, and activation go to dashboard/settings/ bp friendpress and change the setting to current user / friends activity. Just be aware it also make buddypress specific pages private so only members can view them. make sure to read the readme.txt regarding group forums or sitewide forums and make changes appropriately. If you do not want the buddypress specific pages private you can go in the bp-friendpress.php file and comment out the part that says “The walled garden.” Hope this helps!

ParticipantI use it on my homepage as a widget with some CSS adjustment, so i presume it’s not template dependant. But i haven’t tested it in the sidebar position. Would say YES.
@mercime
Participant@blg002 based on the link you gave, you should be looking at wp-plugins/bbpress/bbp-themes/ for the forums with tables or in wp-plugins/bbpress/bbp-theme-compat/ with table-less forums for the single-topic template files
For further assistance, https://bbpress.org/forums/

@mercime
Participant@mumbaipav Based on the HTML structure of your theme, you will be only need to create two new files, header-buddypress.php and sidebar-buddypress.php to make the BP templates compatible with your theme.
If you’ve revised any of the BP template files transferred to your snapwire theme folder in server during the BP Compatibility process, please delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your snapwire theme folder in server – /activity, /blogs, /forums, /members, /groups, /register – then re-run Appearance > BP Compatibility again to make sure that you have clean template files.
A. COPY your theme’s header.php and Save As > header-buddypress.php
Open up header-buddypress.php and at the BOTTOM of the file, below other code contained within, add this:
`<div id="post-” >`Save file.

ParticipantHi @chouf1
Yes, I have read it. Why do you think I posted in the “BuddyPress Usernames Only” group page? Because I know it is this plugin. I’m asking for another alternative instead of plugin as use the function.php.

ParticipantYo, i understand your frustration, but debuging by the “common way” is the first thing to do.
If your install worked before upgrading and no more after, it’s logical to think that there is somewhere a conflict or a missing piece of code.
Custom themes and plugins are mostly the culprit. JS sliders, plugs with text editors are also common sources of problems. There is no universal answer. Each site is different, each problem too.
I recently get a blank page because of a missing > in one of my template loop !
I updated to 1.6.1 and all my pages disapeared and i had to recreate them one by one.
After 4 years of BP usage, it’s just an incident. But i understand, especially it it’s the first time you run such a trouble, how this can be annoying, for sure !
On this topic, you claim all “it’s no more working.” but no one said what he did, what theme he use and what type of install he manage. All these details are missing in this topic. And so far i know, nobody here is a soothsayer. I’m not.
Other common forum user behavior: no or less feedback when a solution is found. So coming here and saying “it’s not the problem” after an answer, is not fair. If it’s not the problem, why do you ask for help ? And if it’s the problem, why don’t you explain it ?
Pages are gone is not the probleme description, it’s the problem RESULT description.
A clearly explained problem brings to a clearly solution.
I don’t know what happens for you. I only try to help you with common questions intented to guide your debug search.Let me suggest you that if you want to know what 1.6.1 did, go to the trac and compare the version changes. It’s very easy to find this information on the Trac. But you have to read the code.
If “it’s not the problem” with common guidance as read above, may i suggest you to activate the debug mode in wp-config file. Perhaps some warnings or server information will help you further.
Sorry it’s also a common help answer.
And as i’m french, sorry for my poor english.August 24, 2012 at 6:24 am #140108In reply to: Can not add a new topic to group forum

ParticipantI had the same problem with bbPress forum topics and replies not appearing in the activity stream.
I found a solution on the bbPress support website.
In the administration area, in Settings > Privacy Settings > Site Visibility, I previously had this set as “Ask search engines not to index this site.”. After I changed this setting to “Allow search engines to index this site.”, the activity stream started working. I read a few people having the same problem, and it was rectified by changing this setting.

Participant@travel-junkie It’s a myth yeah, but it’s not a myth that at each page load, the page is recontructed with all the plugins, filters, filters of filters, and all the rest. The amount count or better said the server settings of many details such as php memory, max_exec etc
You’re right, good coding practice is the primar condition, but who knows that when installing a plugin ? A quality plugin coded under the 4.x area isn’t really quality satisfying today. Awfull plugins writen with the feet, but doing the job (even if penibly) are(where) legion.
Most of the plugin’s user are not php guru’s to see what changed, what is good or not in the code.
Even pro developper’s are not all qualified to be quality dev’s. Go, go, go, allways faster und hektische arbeit zum schluss. You’ll probably know that.
And what is “quality” in the wpsphere ? 5 minutes install, download a theme, a plugin by one click and bum, done ? In the best case, user will shout “it work’s !”

It’s not quality, it’s just an easy craftwork.
Aber sonst alles klar. Tchuss
EDIT: a funny conclusion to this just posted here few minutes ago in this tread:

that mentionned this (very explicit in my mind)

What plug-ins are you running? Especially what cache plug-in(s)?

MemberRE: https://buddypress.org/showcase/
I clicked around the first 5 showcase sites (excluding the german one), and they all run faster than our BP install. Guess there’s hope for BP after all.
Wonder what makes those sites run so fast? If it’s a cache plug-in, would love to know which one they use. We use “Hyper Cache” and it’s not cutting it for us.

ParticipantThe current version of SeoPress conflicts with group forums, you can’t edit or delete topics and shows wrong count for each forum topics list, So its unusable in my case.
Totally agree with regular posting and all that stuff. The problem is on a regular wordpress blog, you need to adjust seo settings otherwise you will be producing duplicated content and getting penalties from google on your rank.
Depending on the theme you use meta titles and meta description change, You may want to control that too to adjust it to your site specifics. As far as I know target keywords is the primary criteria search engines use to map sites and build their listings to output in search queries, why shouldn’t one exploit that to be found by the keywords he wants to and not by some random keywords that he never knows what they are?
Totaly agree with G+ circles and add Facebook, Twitter, and the rest of social networks.
When you have a site you must have a strategy for capture visitors, You have plenty that influence how your site is build. Search engines, social networks, advrtisement, you name it.Returning to my inicial question, What’s the best way to handle SEO optimization with BP?
