http://www.wglasserinternational.org/Discussion/forum/registeredusers/registeredrt/
All the forum pages are protected and you need a username and pw to access. I created the login info specifically to access this page.

ParticipantHi,
First of all, sharing site username and password on forum is not recommended. Second, if you can locate me to the page where height issue comes.

ParticipantFor new users you can use the code mentioned here https://forums.wpsharks.com/t/pro-form-buddypress-make-display-name-default-to-username-or-make-it-custom-profile-field/2113
For existing users you can give this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-real-names/
a try.Thanks

PS: What plugin does BuddyPress.org use for the support forum?

ParticipantHave you tried asking at the plugin support forum?
August 25, 2018 at 9:31 pm #275904guilhermefr
ParticipantThank you for your reply @prashantvatsh!
I’ve installed the plugin from the link you provided and it worked as intended.
I then used this code snippet here so that group members automatically subscribe to group forum as they join the group.
I also had to install this plugin here to manage group members e-mail subscriptions. I set the default to “no e-mail messages” for all groups, so if the group members want also to be informed through e-mail about forum messages, they can configure that as they want.

ParticipantThis is for forum subscribers https://github.com/buddydev/bbp-bp-notify-new-topic
But if you know how to edit the code then it will do the trick for you.
Thanks
August 22, 2018 at 4:07 pm #275839Topic: Combine Read and Unread Notifications?
in forum How-to & Troubleshootingwallacelin
ParticipantHello, I’m using Buddypress 3.1.0, bbPress 2.5.14, and the Boss theme 2.4.6 to create an online network/forums website. The website is 7ctest2.site and the wordpress version is 4.9.8.
Is it possible to merge the Read and Unread notifications into one page on /members/user/notifications/ ?
How would I go about implementing this?
I’m new to both Buddypress and bbPress and was handed down this website to complete. Any help or idea would be helpful. Thank you!

ParticipantI did not see this before, but these two errors were inline with page elements rather than in the header.
It looks like the last one is still doing something with bp-legacy even though I have it set to nouveau. I have tried switching between legacy and nouveau again, and get the same error.

KeymasterSounds like you should use a forum like bbPress (bbpress.org) instead of a profile-centric option like BuddyPress.

//Change order of Buddypress tabs function my_change_profile_tab_order() { global $bp; $bp->bp_nav['activity']['position'] = 10; $bp->bp_nav['profile']['position'] = 20; $bp->bp_nav['courses']['position'] = 30; $bp->bp_nav['forums']['position'] = 40; $bp->bp_nav['groups']['position'] = 50; $bp->bp_nav['friends']['position'] = 60; $bp->bp_nav['notifications']['position'] = 70; $bp->bp_nav['messages']['position'] = 80; } add_action( 'bp_setup_nav', 'my_change_profile_tab_order', 999 );July 28, 2018 at 1:03 pm #275470In reply to: Reply Threading not working

Moderatorthe line
esc_html__( ‘%1$s started the topic %2$s in the forum %3$s’, ‘bbpress’ )presents the phrse “started the topic in the forum” to WP translation as part of the bbpress translation component. This means that you can create you own translation (alternative text) for the bbpress string using poedit and maybe WPT Custom MO File in order to get your system to use your translation for your site.See https://codex.buddypress.org/translations/ and https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/customizing/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/ obviously these pages are for BuddyPress, not bbPress but it’s the same principle.

KeymasterBuddyPress does not do anything to the login page.
You are using a 3rd-party plugin to manipulate the login page. Please use the support forum for that plugin for help.

r-a-y
KeymasterWhat I’m asking is, is a user suppose to get a separate email with the activation code that they copy paste into?
When a user completes registration, the user should get an activation email which looks like this:
Thanks for registering! To complete the activation of your account, go to the following link: example.com/activate/XXX/XXXis the activation key. When the user clicks on this link, the activation page should show a form with the activation key already populated. The user has to submit the form to activate their account. For those with custom themes, that activation key might not be automatically populated into the form. This has caused a few support forum threads like this one to pop up.
The fix for custom themes is noted here:
If you are not using a custom BuddyPress theme, then you can also try changing your theme to a WordPress default one to see if your problem still exists.
