Within your BuddyBoss custom theme, navigate to the templates related to the BuddyPress activity feed. You’ll likely find relevant files in the buddyboss-child-theme/buddypress/activity directory.

Look for the file responsible for rendering the activity feed and its items. You’ll want to customize this file to include a “Reply” button for each discussion.

    2. Customizing the Activity Feed:

    a. Locate the template file (e.g., activity/entry.php or similar) where the activity feed items are displayed.

    b. Identify the section responsible for displaying BuddyPress activities related to discussions or forum posts.

    c. Within this section, add a “Reply” button for each discussion using HTML and BuddyPress functions. Use the BuddyPress functions to generate a reply form or link.

i have some problem about pagination , the url link already change like
    /members/superadmincommunity/forums/topics/page/2/

and that applies to all Forums such as Topic Created, Replies Created, Engagments, and favorites

but the data still same not change at all .

I hope there is a way to solve this problem, If you set the settings on BBpress for unlimited data showing, the user will scroll unlimitedly

    Hi,

Pagination in buddypress fora (private group forum) is not working anymore. Only de first page is shown, whatever pagenumber one clicks on.

    e.g
    forum /groepen/icsi/forum/page/2/ shows page /groepen/icsi/forum/
    topic /groepen/icsi/forum/topic/icsi-2023/page/3/ shows /groepen/icsi/forum/topic/icsi-2023/

This renders these fora unusable if sorted on datetime ascending.

There are no errors or warnings in the php logfile.

Deactivating all plugins (except bbpress, buddypress) does not make any difference. Changing theme does not make any difference.

Pagination under BBpress fora works fine.

So it seems that buddypress does not react on the last part of the url’s (e.g. /page/3/ )

    Temporary workaround :

Up the amount of topics and replies per page under bbpress settings so that pagination does not show up.

    @anisf18,

Could you provide a bit more information on what you’re seeing? I’ve also been having a problem, apparently with the timezone, between BuddyPress and bbPress. But the problem I’m seeing is definitely not new with BP 12.

FYI, I’m just another BP user. Here a description of my issue:

    bbPress / BuddyPress notification interaction?

I had a user report that the previous functionality of “forum freshness” is not longer working either. Would that be something already known or worthy of it’s own topic here?

    here was their post:

Have there been any updates that removed the Topic Freshness functionality from the forum? I was able to reliably find all new posts in a fairly easy manner with this but now am getting an Oops! That page can’t be found. error message when attempting to access the bookmarked link and no longer see this as an option at the very bottom of any forum page in the Forum Tools section.

    🙁

Here’s the link that no longer functions for me – http://steelcitylug.com/forum/view/topics-freshness/

Certainly! If you’re looking to optimize member profiles on a BuddyPress-powered website for search engines (SEO), you might want to consider the following response:

    Hello there,

Optimizing member profiles on BuddyPress for SEO is a crucial step to enhance visibility on search engines. Here are some tips to ensure your member profiles are search engine friendly:

    Complete and Relevant Profile Information:
Encourage members to fill out their profiles thoroughly. Include key information, such as a brief bio, interests, and any relevant links. Search engines often prioritize pages with comprehensive content.

    SEO-Friendly Usernames and Display Names:
Suggest to members that they choose usernames and display names that are relevant to their identity or interests. This can contribute to better search engine visibility.

    Enable SEO-friendly Permalinks:
Check your BuddyPress settings and ensure that your permalinks are set up in a way that includes relevant keywords. This helps search engines understand the content of the profile pages.

    Utilize BuddyPress Custom Fields:
BuddyPress allows you to add custom fields to member profiles. Use these fields to gather additional information that might be relevant for search engine optimization. This could include skills, locations, or any other pertinent details.

    Encourage User-Generated Content:
User-generated content, such as forum posts or activity updates, can contribute to the overall SEO of the website. Encourage members to engage with the community and share valuable content.

Implement OpenGraph and Twitter Card Tags:
Add OpenGraph and Twitter Card meta tags to member profile pages. This enhances how the profile appears when shared on social media platforms, indirectly impacting SEO.

    Mobile Optimization:
Ensure that member profiles are optimized for mobile devices. Google considers mobile-friendliness as a ranking factor, and a responsive design is crucial for SEO.

    Regularly Update BuddyPress:
Keep your BuddyPress installation up-to-date. Updates often include improvements and bug fixes that can indirectly impact SEO.

Remember, SEO is an ongoing process, and monitoring analytics can provide insights into what is working and what can be improved.

Also, If I click the Mark as Favorite button in the site-wide activity feed entry for the topic creation, It shows up as marked as a favorite in the member’s activity feed (which I’d expect). But I’d also assume that ‘favoriting’ the activity entry implies that I’d like the actual forum topic set as a favorite as well.

    Hi,

In /members/[my username]/forums/favorites, and in /members/[my username]/forums/subscriptions, in the column before the “Voices” column there is a missing graphic for the favorite/un-favorite and subscribe/unsubscribe little buttons to click. I just see a box with an ‘x’ in it.

Hello. When I click on the name of another user in our Forum, it currently redirects us to an account restricted page and not their profile. I have been checking BP settings but I do not see any setting to unrestrict it at the moment,

I am new to WP in general but I do think that viewing other profiles should be possible. Not sure if there is a setting somewhere that will allow this function. As mentioned, the users are clickable right now but when I do click it, it redirects me to a restricted access page.

I have multiple non-Admin test accounts at my site that I use to test user experience. I’ve tried the passwords that should work to log in, to no avail. When I try to reset the password from multiple angles (using the password reset on the site, and from the initial signup email), I’m not receiving a password reset email. (not in spam folder either, and it’s been multiple hours since the first reset attempt)

In addition, when I try to log in from the site’s forum login button, it says “Method Not Allowed”.

I have Buddypress 12.0.0 and just installed the BP Classic plugin which didn’t solve either issue.

@erotmil this is a public forum, do not share access to your site. I never ask to log in to a user site, and I’ll never log in to edit a user site. I just deleted the access you shared in your previous reply.

Your custom page is out of BuddyPress scope. The only thing that has changed since 11.4.0 that could possibly interfere imho is the fact BuddyPress used to put its JavaScript and Styles everywhere on your site, including this page. You can try to use the gist the way I commented it to have these JavaScript and Styles back.

Morning, sorry I couldn’t find the start a new topic button in the main forum.

I have a problem where If I send out invitations for people to join my buddypress site – the invitation email goes straight to people’s spam folders

Is there a way to fix that?

Hey! Newbie here and my idea is to create clean forum, but as I see there is forum and groups. Do i need groups for anything, if I only want forum section? And if the groups are not needed, how I disable it and remove all groups related things? I tryed to deactivate it from settings->BuddyPress-> Deactivating this “User Groups
Groups allow your users to organize themselves into specific public, private or hidden sections with separate activity streams and member listings.” but after doing this my homepage freezes on pc..

I am just thinking that these groups things could be too much as I want simple and clean + easy to use forum.

I also see settings boxes for a couple additional plugins- monsterinsights and wpfusion.

To allow any logged-in user to post in your bbPress forum within a specific BuddyPress group, go to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Forums > [Your Forum], and adjust the forum’s settings. Look for permissions or access settings and set them to “Logged In Users” rather than restricting it to group members only.

More precisely, another detail: when using the v11 when the links are badly formed on another member profile forum page you can always manually type /replies/page/2/ in the adress bar of your browser and it will display the proper content.

On beta4 you can’t do that: even /page/2/ or /page/3/ etc will redirect to the same page (on my local page it redirects to page 1 of that user profile forum tab).

(I just typed a response and it does not show. Moderated because of links or bug on my part?)

Shorter version: pagination on your own profile work, but on other people profiles don’t.

    @imath
if you visit your own profile on this very website you’ll notice that the pagination links link to buddypress .org/page/2/ instead of /members/imath/forums/replies/page/2/

After conducting local test it appears to be a problem on the v.11 too… is it a known issue? Is there a way we can help fix this?

I have some feedback for the beta4: I stumbled upon this issue on my big site config but in troubleshooting mode with only default WP theme 2024 + BuddyPress (Heritage template but Nouveau has same problem) + bbpress I have this issue: in the /members/forums/ tabs of a member page, when I click on the different pages they do not display different content, only first page’s one.

Could this be a problem with BuddyPress or is this only bbpress?

@africanfoods Let’s discuss about it in another topic, this one is dedicated to testing BuddyPress 12.0 and BP Classic. Just imagine how you would feel if someone would interrupt a discussion you’re having about a topic with something that is not directly related to it.

Please open a new topic, describe your configuration in it: WordPress version, BuddyPress version, PHP version, name of your theme, name of the active BP Template Pack, list of active plugin names as well as active BP Components, whether there is a bp-custom.php file into your plugins directory or any other file into a mu-plugins directory, etc. We’ve sticked this topic to the forum to help you and others have a reply to their troubles, follow these steps, then ask for support. I can’t help you with so few information.

(damn the spam on this forum seems constant, that’s frustrating)

    I’m using BBpress.
In fact the website I’m working on used BBpress and i’m trying to integrate that and Buddypress (that I enabled mainly to add private message to the website).

bbpress has the advantage to contain templates that work directly when you enable both plugin.

I’m trying to pull all the information from both bbpress profile and buddypress profile to an existing custom theme profile page but that’s the challenging part.

I’m trying to integrate BuddyPress into a theme I’m working with. This theme already has a profile page and I’m trying to include BuddyPress content inside it, mainly forums infos and privates messages functionalities.

I’m using bp-nouveau template parts and the inclusion seems to work as some html is passed on but no content. One of the reasons I think is because the page does not load buddypress scripts.

in short: How can I make the plugin to display private messages on a custom profile page?

    Hello Everyone.
For the past week, I’ve been working on my website. The problem is that Buddypress doesn’t send activation mail but when I trigger forgot password email for the same account it sends it. And no one can’t activate their account.

The default WordPress register page is able to send activation mail but when I activate BuddyPress it doesn’t work. I have tried all the plugins and have been going through all these forums for the last two days but all in vain.

I have reinstalled it thrice and now as stated in the requirements I have done a manual WordPress install. I am on shared hosting and using my website mail server to send emails.

    My site: techcaro

    WordPress Version: 6.3
    Buddypress version: 11.3.2

Please help me solve this issue.
