Participantoh i figured she was just talking about as an update. That code you have there is pretty cool @modemlooper would that work with any oEmbed or just youtube? you know me and code but it looks like it would work with any oEmbed. Also is that something which would be placed inside bp-custom? BTW i like your site design.

ParticipantBen, do you mean I can’t embed the video on the page, and that I can only put a link to YouTube (and therefore send the visitor away from my site)?

ModeratorYou can show the bp profile fields loop and then write a custom save. Not too difficult but a little work.

Participanthave you correctly installed BP ?
Read here: https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installation-wizard/If you use only the BP’s profile component, somewhere it’s like using a hammer to kill flies. 🙂

ParticipantThanks I checked for that line of code in green highlight and it is present, so am using the latest version. It seems that some things are missing from my non-standard template then? I have the BuddyPress Template Pack and everything seems otherwise ok. I have no idea how to troubleshoot and fix this. Any ideas?

ParticipantThanks for your reply! I guess it’s yet *another* thing that’s not working using the non standard theme. I had thought as much, just wanted someone to confirm. Very frustrating 🙁

ParticipantI found it!! I didn’t expect it to be so hidden away: you have to log in as the user, go to the profile tab, click edit, then hidden between the page title “Editing ‘Base’ Profile Group” and the fields for the base group is a button for the additional group. Click on that and the new fields appear. Phew!

ParticipantThe issue was fixed in BP 1.6 https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4362 Could you check your wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-xprofile/bp-xprofile-classes.php to check if your BP was upgraded properly?

ParticipantThanks for your reply. I’m using the latest versions of WP and BP but my theme is not standard and I’m using the template plugin. Is there a way I can fix my template?

Participant@scoobydoobydoo I’ve seen this issue before with old BP version and another one with a theme which has not been updated for some time. What are your WP/BP versions? Are you using BP Default theme?

ParticipantThe WP standard fields are not used, this is default usage with BP activated.
But you can create your own custom fields on the profile.

ParticipantI am using the NING to BP importer from WPMUDEV. The good news is that the plugin will create new Meta fields for anything in my CSV that does not already exist. If it does exist, it will (supposedly) match.
You are stating that the name of the last activity field is “bp_last_activity”. Should I try the header:
bp_last_activity
bp last activity
or something else?January 11, 2013 at 4:44 pm #150314In reply to: [Resolved] Reorder member profile fields?

Moderatorif you drag a field onto another field group tab you can move fields to other sections.
