ModeratorHi,
There’s probably a JavaScript issue blocking the UI.
Can you check what’s in your browser’s Console ? Are you sure it’s the default theme ?For your info, the Nouveau template pack is not showing the number of users into these bubbles but the number of new activities of the load newest feature.

KeymasterWe can only help if we can replicate the problem locally.
So far, I’ve been unable to duplicate this, which is why I ask you to switch your theme. If you don’t want to switch your theme, try changing your template pack to BP Legacy under “Settings > BuddyPress > Options” and see if your member settings page works again.

in forum How-to & Troubleshootingaaronpods
ParticipantI have a basic site that I’m using to develop a plugin on, but this issue is happening with only the BuddyPress plugin and the default theme. The /activity page shows zero members and will not a user to post there, whereas if they go to /members it shows 2 members and on /members/[username]/activity/ it allows a user to post something. Screenshots below.
My question, how can I get members to show up on the /activity page and allow them to post from there?

KeymasterWhat theme are you using? Have you tried changing your theme to a WordPress default theme to see if that fixes your problem?

Participantgood evening everyone
I have a pb on my website and it blocks me because users have created their account
Indeed I am setting up a dating site:
– wordpress 4.9.6,
-theme: sweet
website link: http://hiv-rencontre.com
The plugin used for confirmation of email addresses is buddypress 3.1.0
The pb is that this user has created an account he does not receive the confirmation email, and his account can not be active
I have already looked in a lot of forums and even that buddypress website without finding any solution to my problem.
I already used WP Mail SMTP, it sends the test messages.
The contact messages form7 and the password reset ones leave well, but for registration confirmation mails, the email is not sent
I uninstalled buddypress and I tried natively with wordpress it goes without problem so I do not know if the problem is with buddypress, because I even had to uninstall all the plugins but until the nothing.
Thank you for helping me because it’s really urgent,

ModeratorI reckon try to build on that, otherwise you can create your own page based on the master templates in `plugins/buddypress.bp-templates/bp-legacy (or bp-nouveau)/buddypress/activity etc.
There’s a few template files that built the activity page, activity loop, index etc, you could make copies of these and load them from your theme, the alternative is to simply overload these template files in order to get the activity page working more like you want it.

ParticipantSolved it! Changed the BuddyPress Templates to Legacy. Obviously Nouveau doesn’t work with the BuddyApp theme. Must have missed that in the documentation. Thanks again for your help.

Participant@venutius not that I know of! I’ve also just realised that there isn’t an ‘add friend’ button on the Members Directory page.
I’m using the BuddyApp theme because it fits in with the design for my website, but I’m going to switch to another theme to see if that makes a difference.
I have a lot of plugins doing all different things, but the issues are both the same when I deactivate everything… it’s very strange.

ModeratorSome of this is how BuddyPress works out of the box, when you hit a button, that will cause a page load and you will go to the top of the screen. However it looks like something it triggering two page loads, so you click a button, the page loads and while you are scrolling down the page loads again. That’s not how BuddyPress works.
This second part all depends on how your bp pages have been set up. The first thing I would try would be to change your theme to a default theme such as 2017 and see if it still loads the page twice after you click a profile button.

ParticipantHello –
I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. My client is using the Avada (https://avada.theme-fusion.com/) theme. BuddyPress and BBPress seem to work together when using the Twenty themes.

ModeratorChild theme overloads are only for template files.
Modifying core files is not a good idea – but in this case it is the only option.
And the next release will include the patch – so your changes are just a temporary kludge.June 4, 2018 at 8:55 pm #274055jessiemele
ParticipantI had the same problem and was following the fix too, but I made a copy of that file in my child theme under my-theme-name/buddypress/bp-members/screens/register.php. I didn’t want to change it in the original plugin file, but it’s not working. Is modifying the original plugin file ok? I’m not sure why my copied version in my child theme isn’t working??

ParticipantThis issue occurs for me as well! I’ve been frantically running around, troubleshooting by going through the plugins to see if it’s a compatibility issue.
I’ll switch to the default buddypress theme to see if there’s an issue with Nouveau, but I haven’t found a solution yet.June 4, 2018 at 5:55 am #274013In reply to: Buddypress registration page password field

ParticipantYou can modify template files
buddypress/bp-templates/bp-nouveau/buddypress/members/register.php
and override them inside child theme. You can also go with without coding approach using Gravity form + GF User Registration addon

ParticipantHey friends,
not sure if that’s interesting to anyone here, but I found out what the problem caused and a quick fix. In the file ‘social-articles-load.php’ the following lines cause the problem:
top nav $name = sprintf( __("Articles", "social-articles").'<span class="sa-global-counter">%s</span>', ''); sub nav 'name' => sprintf( __("Published", "social-articles").'<span>%s</span>', $publishCount), ... 'name' => sprintf( __("Under Review", "social-articles").'<span>%s</span>', $pendingCount), ... 'name' => sprintf( __("Draft", "social-articles").'<span>%s</span>', $draftCount),The quick fix I’m using is to delete
.'<span class=”sa-global-counter”>%s</span>’, ” in the top nav line and
.'<span>%s</span>’ in each sub nav line.Still, one issue remains, that the counters are not visible. Maybe someone has an idea what could be the reason, as in the legacy theme they are visible. Thanks and I hope this little fix helps you guys.
Cheers

ModeratorHave you tried deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default theme such as 2017 to rules out conflicts?
Venutius
ModeratorIt’s because you have overloaded the template file in
themes/kleo.buddypress/members/single/home.phpit’s trying to load an obsolete function `bp_is_user_forums() on line 102. If you did not create this file you need to speak to your theme support to fix it, otherwise the solution is to remove that function basically, it’s usually in an if function.stevenseagal

ParticipantI stand corrected. It did change something.
The plugins ‘Theme My Login’ and ‘Force Login’ will no longer work with my site, since making this change. They both cause 404 errors now, as well.June 2, 2018 at 1:22 pm #273961In reply to: show loading animation

Participant@iamdev it will be your theme specific customization and for sidebar position, it can not be added within activity loop, you can keep it before or after it.
