Participant@mercime isn’t that what I wrote a few posts up
although my version was more concise
However since that was written there were other changes made to BP styles so I had to revise that to simply ‘bp-default-main’ as resets ‘spit’ were moved into main, so removing or de-registering reset.css ‘spit’ is no longer needed in this respect.

Participant@hnla this worked for me in child theme
`add_action( ‘wp_print_styles’, ‘our_deregister_bp_dtheme_styles’, 100 );
function our_deregister_bp_dtheme_styles() {
wp_deregister_style( ‘bp-default-reset’ );
wp_deregister_style( ‘bp-default-main’ );
}`June 22, 2011 at 5:33 pm #115061In reply to: integrating buddypress into a custom wordpress theme

Hugo Ashmore
ParticipantTry opening /members/single/home.php and to the element `
` add a class ``That should now allow you to add specific styles to any page within a set of member account/profile screens
`.member-account .padder {margin-right: 0;}`
N.B. this is for bp-default theme and you should really effect these changes in a child theme otherwise the changes will be lost on upgrade to BP

MemberI found that my theme was missing blogs-loop.php in my wp-content/themes//blogs folder
I was able to find any missing files to make the themes work by looking in this plugin/package: https://buddypress.org/media/bp-template-pack.zip

MemberFixed my own issue: so in my theme I found that I was missing the file blogs-loop.php under wp-content/themes/reviewit/blogs. This may help someone else if they have a custom theme: https://buddypress.org/media/bp-template-pack.zip
I basically compared file contents between the two.

MemberSame here … just ran into this tonight. All sites/blogs are set to public (verified). Now it does work with the default theme and not my custom (ReviewIt) theme which is made to work with buddypress. It’s just that in this case it’s not showing this one feature (Blogs Directory): http://stangnation.com/blogs

MemberHello – I had just reinstalled a fresh copy of BP today and got the groups and forums working. However with my WPMU install I found that in my custom theme my blogs directory is not being rendered. It’s blank: http://stangnation.com/blogs
Can you kindly tell me where to find or add in my theme any code needed to make it show?

ParticipantWhat theme are you using?
Does the crash come with an error message and if so what.
What plugins are you using….It might possibly help to have other information as suggested here:

Nahum
Participantdo you have a buddypress ready theme? BP will not work automatically for all themes. You’ll need a Buddypress ready theme and/or use the BP Template Pack plugin. https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-template-pack/

r-a-y
KeymasterBlog posts use regular WP templates: single.php for blog posts; page.php for WP pages.
User profile comprises a number of templates, but the main structure of it can be found under /bp-default/members/single/home.php. Copy this file to your theme retaining the folder structure and modify it to your heart’s content.

MemberI’m sorry for not being specific. The user profile page is missing the main main content col which contains the written content on the main page, as well as the side bars and footer so it’s getting the header from the theme but not taking any thing else except background image from the style sheet.
`User profile is yourtheme/members/single`
I assume you mean buddypress theme? I’ve played around in the single folder going through each file, deleting it’s contents , reloading the profile page to see any effect before restoring the file’s contents but, have been unable to find any pinchlin file to theme the profile page with. Am I missing some thing?My theme is heavily based upon twentyten which doesn’t use such a file to my knowledge. Is the post file some thing I could create my self? If so where, in my wp theme folder?
Thank you for your time Virtuali very, very much.

ParticipantRight now when I click on a Blog post title, it takes me to a version the the main page which is formatted to the main page for the slide show, which I’d like to change
Well that has to do with the theme you built, maybe some incorrect php.The user profile page right now is completely blank with only the background image of the site and the header image but does have the standard user profile content on it.
Ok, well than what is missing?
What are the files for User profile and Blog posts which can be edited to give them a custom look and feel as index.php dose in the theme folder?
User profile is yourtheme/members/single
The post page depends on your theme, some themes have a post.php file, but I don’t know if you have created something similar to that however in your theme that you built.

page bt instead it shows an error saying u do not have sufficient to access this page !if u guyz have any hacks plz tell me with details
thnx in advance
also grt thnx to @hnla & @brajesh for trying to solve my problem good work guyz…..this help means a lot to me !June 20, 2011 at 2:23 pm #114891Boone Gorges
KeymasterBrajesh is right; it’s probably a Javascript problem. I’d suggest checking out Suffusion’s custom BP template pack. Otherwise, as a stopgap, you might try changing line 23 of wp-content/plugins/bp-template-pack.php from
`wp_enqueue_script( ‘bp-js’, BP_PLUGIN_URL . ‘/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/global.js’, array( ‘jquery’ ) );`
to
`if ( !is_admin() ) wp_enqueue_script( ‘bp-js’, BP_PLUGIN_URL . ‘/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/global.js’, array( ‘jquery’ ) );`so that BP’s scripts are only loaded on non-Dashboard pages.

Participant@hnla, completely agree about the trouble shooting steps. Since the code is spread in all the places(bp-custom.php/plugins/themes functions.php). It is really difficult sometime to find the culprit. Appreciate the steps you guys suggest and follow for the purpose. Let us have some feedback from Naved to find the error

Participant@sbrajesh tbh when I read “into their home page” I imagined the OP might actually be using your plugin for re-direct but the post is unclear and needs clarification. It’s vital to try and get across to people how to perform basic troubleshooting so that they can come prepared in advance with the kind of detail that’s needed to help out.
First rule of thumb is to disable plugins and return to default theme if the issue goes away then you know it’s either a custom theme or plugin issue then when the actual item has been identified questions can be addressed directly to the author or of course brought here.

Participant== I tried every BP theme that I have and no matter what it still displays the same. … I disabled any plugin having to do with the comments. ==
Then try to deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress, not only the ones having to do with the comments, and change to bp-default theme.
== I would like to have to when people click the reply button, the reply form pops up in a lightbox. ==
No plugin available at this time for that kind of pop up.
