Topic: Native Mobile App
Hey everyone,
Long time wordpress and woocommerce user but have yet to try buddypress. Either way for what I’m trying to do before I decide what platform and route to take (hoping buddypress is capable as I am a avid supporter of all wordpress).
So trying to make a native phone app. But on the phone of course it will need the ability to use the code we already have to take photos (we already have that part working. How can we take the site and actually make it into a native app.

I’m using WordPress 4.2.2 with BuddyPress 2.2.3.1. and the issue occurs even with the default themes.
The problem is when a user registers on my website he gets activated immediately, without going through the regular email activation process.
When I try to register a test user, I see the notice to check my email for the activation code. The email is sent with an activation code and when I click on the link it says “Invalid Key” (of course the user is already activated so I think this is normal).
I checked the database at the “sign-ups” table and I noticed that a user registers at say 22:10:10 and gets “automatically” activated one or two seconds later.
What could possibly be causing this? I deactivated all other plugins besides BuddyPress and this still happens.

I cannot change profile photo on my buddypress. I click Change Profile Photo
Choose File
Browse to an image (image is smaller than the upload limit in php.ini)
image name appears
click Upload Image
nothing happens, does not show me the cropping image screens, does not allow changing avatar.
This used to work and I cannot figure out what changed. I deactivated all plugins and still the same issue. I reactivated the EWWW plugin, since deactivating it did not fix my issue. I tried with 2015 theme to see if it could be buddyboss theme, but I have the same issue using 2015 theme.Mainly the header and footer links/text and the ‘tutorials’ dropdown. The bit where it says “Over a number of videos I will take you through the basics of setting up a solid WordPress theme with…” is big enough I think so perhaps make everything that size.

Installing Buddypress on a existing WordPress site with a large number of users I’ve found that on activating the Site Tracking component I get the white screen of death. The front end of the site still works, mostly, but it’s completely killed the back end. Fortunately I’m doing this on a test site, with BP 2.2.3.1 & WP 4.2.2, and have tried with no other plugins installed and the 2015 theme. This is a single site, not multisite.
I’ve traced this back to the bp_blogs_record_existing_blogs function, specifically
$users = get_users( array(
‘blog_id’ => $blog_id
) );OK, so it can’t cope with the number of users and I guess a more powerful server with higher memory and script execution times etc. might be able to cope, but I don’t have that at the moment and I’m looking for a work around. Is there a hook or filter I can remove that’ll let me replace bp_blogs_record_existing_blogs with my own function that could go through the users in chunks, maybe using wp_cron? It’s called from within bp_core_activation_notice which is called from the bp_admin_init hook so maybe that’s the one to replace?
If anyone has come up against this problem before and has a solution please let me know.

I am relatively new to wordpress and buddypress. I am currently developing a website using the Divi theme and I am trying to develop the buddypress side of my page with buddypress version 2.2.3.1. I was wondering if there was an easier way to edit the group and profile templates for buddypress besides editing the php files directly or if the design work for buddypress needs to all be hand coded.
Is there anyway with less coding which can allow me to edit the templates? I’ve been searching for plugin for weeks and still haven’t found anything, the conclusion I’ve come to is that you have to be a developer to edit the profile templates. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
If the only way to edit the template files is directly in the php files, what are the file paths of the profile template and the group template?
