ParticipantThanks @ubernaut for keeping us updated. Most of my feeds are working now with the exception of one. It sounds like generally there’s alot of buggyness across wordpress with regards to feeds and with similar mime type error messages showing not only in Buddypress

ParticipantI have since found two related, seemingly un-maintained projects:
https://github.com/tigransloyan/buddypress-bootstrap (last update one year ago)
https://github.com/dimensionmedia/buddystrap (last update six months ago, bp 1.6.1)I should have specified that I am using the latest versions of WordPress (3.5.1) and BuddyPress (1.7.2)

ParticipantI would like to merge my members Profile with the author “profile” geotheme is imposing us. I would like to remake the whole members page and setting too.
@delarnmini customizations for a premium theme is beyond the scope of the assistance we provide at BuddyPress forums. Contact theme developers for assistance or you could hire a developer to assist you at http://jobs.wordpress.net or at https://buddypress.org/support/forum/plugin-forums/bp-jobs-board/May 31, 2013 at 1:52 am #165096In reply to: Buddypress alignment and mismatch issues

Participant@compassseeker BuddyPress pages work automagically with nearly all WordPress themes. I hope you did not install and run the BP Template Pack plugin as it’s no longer needed in BP 1.7 above.

ParticipantI just went through deactivating all the plugins again except for ones like Jet Pack, BBpress, and WordPress SEO by yoast. No go. Will unupdate buddypress and try with earlier versions today and post back.

ParticipantI’m not sure if this is the problem but I have had issues similar to this in the past. It’s to do with the phone/cameras orientation and it’s EXIF data. This won’t fix the images for users who have already uploaded avatars but all subsequent image uploads should be sorted.

Let me know if that helps

ParticipantI want to mention, that I no longer needed this code once I set my time in wordpress using UTC instead of the city. It fixed the issue right up.
So I went to wp-admin -> settings -> general ->Timezone
and used UTC time instead of the city.

Participant@haies
You can add the below code to your themes functions.php or bp-custom.php
You can change “profile” in the below code to whatever page you need if profile is not the page you want the user to be redirected too.function custom_login_redirect_to($user_login, $user) { bp_core_redirect( get_option('siteurl') . "/profile/" ); } add_action('wp_login', 'custom_login_redirect_to', 10, 2);There is also a plugin that you could try but it hasn’t been updated in over a year:

There’s also a plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/xcloner-backup-and-restore/Can’t see how deactivating BP Login Redirect plugin could affect those customizations. Did you follow instructions on how to customize labels at https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/customizing/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/ ?

ParticipantI was wrong to use bp template pack?
@prn86 As of BP 1.7, BuddyPress is compatible with almost all WordPress themes without installing BP Template Pack plugin. Did you check your BP pages first, e.g. Members and Groups, before installing BP Template Pack plugin? If not, deactivate BP Template Pack plugin then delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your gameleon theme folder in server during the Appearance > BP Compatibility process.

ParticipantWhich is not terrible of and by itself (these are BP-compatible plugins for WP). But I agree, there needs to be a way to separate out “Plugins for BuddyPress” (things that actually extend the functionality of BuddyPress) from “WordPress plugins that work with BuddyPress”
i’m pretty sure that’s what the plugin modemlooper made does:

ParticipantI’m having same problem, driving me absolutely nutty and hardly a thin gout there about how to fix it. I’m quite desperate for a solution. My feeds from my buddypress install work on other sites outside of buddypress, sometimes
it seems to change all the time
Additionally sometimes when adding the feed url wordpress adds in /activity/ into the feed url without asking 🙂 feeds that work one minute don’t the next

Participant60% of the plugins listed here https://buddypress.org/extend/plugins are not really BuddyPress plugins

ParticipantI’m certainly not an expert but this sounds like server side issues.
I came here hoping to find the answer to my install not sending activation emails. I get other wordpress emails but BP activation emails seem not to be working at all.Regarding the error establishing DB connection, I was getting that on an underpowered server and had to set up a swap file to help the server cope.

Participant@mercime I deactivated the BuddyPress plugin and it worked fine with the WordPress default registration page (the one that looks like the login page). I’m looking for the whole process to detect if it’s looking for some cookie or something that the system is handing the client when logging in… Any ideas?
