KeymasterInstalling WordPress in a directory with the same name as one of BuddyPress’ components will break things; it’s a known issue.

ParticipantWhat is the complete error warning? You might be looking at ajax.php when the problem is the phrase before that and the victim is ajax.php. See https://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_do_I_solve_the_Headers_already_sent_warning_problem.3F

I see. I just tried to create a demo account but for some reason buddypress has threw a wrench into things. Before, people where able to just click the register link and choose a username and login which would then direct people to a paypal page before they could access the site.
Now, for some unknown reason, there is no way to access the site at all! You go to register, it comes up with the a buddypress from instead of the wordpress login page. Once you fill it out, it sends an email to you with an activation link. Once you do that, it takes you to the site but it is just as restricted as if you where a non-member and it doesn’t seem like there is any way to actually become a member like there way before. I’ll take some screen shots and post links.

KeymasterProblem occurs exactly when the author credit in the readme doesn’t match a wordpress.org user account name. I’ll let Boone police his own groups, but if any plugin author has this problem, I’m happy to fix.

ParticipantMaking a theme compatible with BP isn’t I’m afraid a one click process and there are some manual steps that must be undertaken and that do require a little coding knowledge – although not much.
These two pages in the BP codex will help you, the second probably the best one to read through fisrt.
https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/wordpress-to-buddypress-theme/
https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/bp-template-pack-walkthrough-level-easy-2/If you haven’t already performed the extra manual steps outlined in these pages you will need to have a go and if you get stuck post back with where you’ve got to and someone will help out.

Participanta good thing to do is renaming the plugin folder to “plugins_off”. This disables all the plugins.. so you can see if the problem is located in a plugin. Logging needs to be set up: https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Configure_Error_Log
Also try to follow this guide if want to start over. This is a pretty solid method:

Virtuali
ParticipantI don’t think that would be possible, but, there is always a plugin for everything.
To achieve what you are talking about, it would require ajax to load 3 pages without re-loading the page? Yeah, the wordpress logout requires the standard
wp-login.php?action=logoutaction, to dump that into an ajax js would be pretty difficult. You can see what I am talking about, if you go to your site, and click the “Log Out”, the
wp-login.php?action=logoutwill appear, than redirect to the homepage. But it would be still worth checking around!

P.S, if there is a plugin that does this, I would expect it to conflict with alot of other plugins.

Participant@sayhitoarvind This is not a BuddyPress issue. It’s more like the WordPress Anyfont plugin is messing up your multisite installation. Similar to a multisite/anyfont issue I saw in WP.org forums https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-anyfont-issue-after-enabling-multi-site-in-wordpress-304?replies=2
Do resolve the Anyfont plugin issue with the plugin developer and also any multisite installation issues at https://wordpress.org/support/forum/multisite before installing BuddyPress. You need to have a stable and sound WP installation before installing BuddyPress, otherwise it’s going to be a rocky road.

KeymasterDoes your web browser report any JavaScript conflicts?
March 26, 2011 at 9:52 am #108785Nahum
ParticipantI use WP Super-Cache and WP Minify just fine. I would use W3TC but I use multisite functions like switch_to_blog alot – i mean alot – and they just aren’t supported by the plugin and it won’t be until WP3.2 that switch_to_blog is compatible. Once it is I will go back to W3TC, – – maybe — ever since I’ve been waiting for it to work I’ve been getting Super-cache/WPminify and a few other tricks to get my sites almost as fast or just as fast as I had them with W3TC. I’m currently testing out FV Gravatar plugin for gravatars https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/fv-gravatar-cache and I’m going to do CDN next since WPSupercache does have a CDN feature. Overall, I think Super-cache has been more Multisite friendly and more user friendly as well.
