Topic: USer Blog Theme and Admin
Hi everyone,
I have successfully installed BuddyPress.1.2.5.2 in WordPress 3.0.1..
Seems having no problem in installation but some concerns need to be addressed.
I have my blog installed and registered user can create blog. My Problem is when managing their blog, they can access to network settings. How can i restrict access or disable some admin function in wordpress to registered users.
Lets say there is one person who signed up in my BuddyPress site and create a blog. He wants to manage his blog, so he directed to wordpress to post article in his blog. In admin page, he can still edit the Super Admin which is only for me(website administrator).. so i want to disable that function for any registered user. How do you do that?
Also I want that every blog created must have same theme for my BuddyPress. Just like in this site (BuddyPress.org)
Thanks
If I create a Blog on a WordPress multi site, there is an option under settings privacy, Site Visible:
I would like to block search engines, but allow normal Visitors.
If I check this, the blog is still listen in The blog directory.
I feel like this is a BUG! Also the other option extra says, that it will be shown in archives and search engines.
I think the directory View should follow this option. Otherwise it doesn’t make sense.Should I write a ticket for this?

I have been having trouble with the buddypress forums. Basicly, everything on the wordpress side of things works, and everything else BP wise works too. However, when I post a topic, the topic get’s posted, but the post doesn’t. So it says that there are 0 posts in the topic.
I am running wordpress 3.0.1 (not on multisite mode) and buddypress 1.2.5.2 in a root install. I have made one code change: before this I was getting an error because of mysql_get_server_info on wp-db.com, so I changed line 1589 (or somewhere around there from `return preg_replace( ‘/[^0-9.].*/’, ”, mysql_get_server_info( $this->dbh ));` to `return preg_replace( ‘/[^0-9.].*/’, ”, mysql_query(“select version() as $this->dbh”) );`, and that error stopped.
This is not because of any plugins or themes that I have installed: I have tried deactivating all of them to no result. I can not find any solution in any other topics.
And the problem is because of buddypress, not bbpress. I tried installing bbpress separately and integrating it with buddypress, and the same problem occurred when I posted on the buddypress end, but it didn’t when I posted on the bbpress side.
I am reposting this topic that I made earlier: http://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/what-the-heck-is-wrong-with-my-forums/, because I was not getting a responce for a week, despite my attempts to bump the topic. Hopefully this topic will be more successful. Please respond.
Just realised I have some WordPress tags & some BuddyPress groups with the same titles.
When a user clicks on those WP tags, the BP group page turns up.
Is there any easy way to differentiate between WP tags & BP generated pages?I currently use the style “Fishbook” in my WordPress/Buddypress Installation. On the “Home”-Page I only see the newest articles. I want to see only some Welcome Text and an image for the community. The Articles should be available through a link in a menue called “News”. How can I realize that?
I installed WordPress together with Buddypress and wanted to keep the community private only for registered members. So I installed the Private Community Plugin. It works fine, but I want that users can register to the community and watch the contact form.
The FAQ of the plugin shows how to allow these URLs, but I did not get it to work. I do not know where I should enter the code in the file “mm-buddypress-private-community.php”. Can someone help me?
