ParticipantIf you could at least find your bp-default theme file, which is in the buddypress plugin folder > bp-themes > bp-default. There you go to “_inc > css > default.css”. This is buddypress’s standard styling file, here you can edit anything you need.
Anchor (hyperlink) styling can be found on line 503.
Have fun.

KeymasterWhat, exactly, isn’t consistent or doesn’t work? Were you able to pinpoint? I updated it from that source for BP 1.5 (I think), and minimised it without edits.

Member@djpaul, from the BP website: “Private groups are also visible in group directories. The group name and group description remain available for all to see. However, the contents of the group are accessible only to members….” This is not how it works in 1.5.1 – it must be a bug?
@wiking thank you for the workaround, but I would like a more bullet proof solution as I am using BP for professional purposes…

MemberHi Ray. No more info needed. They’re just 2 single WordPress installs.
By the way, I’ve checked that in Buddypress.org there is a similar problem. I’ve received an email after a user has followed me with the following link to change the notifications settings:
https://buddypress.org/community/members/papaenapuros/settings/notifications/i’ve logged out and clicked the link. Then, after entering my logging data, I’ve been redirected to:
https://buddypress.org/?redirect_to=https://buddypress.org/community/members/papaenapuros/settings/notificationsAs you can see, the URL is not working. This is the same problem.

MemberI have deactivated all the plugins, but the problem persists.
It is only when I delete the bp-custom.php file that the bp admin goes back to the network admin panel.
But this means there is no bp on the sub-sites.My bp-custom.php is placed under /wp-contents/plugins/bp-custom.php and only has the following code:
<?php
define ( ‘BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG’, true );
?>Is there another way of network activating Buddypress, other than with bp-custom.php?
Maybe functions.php in the theme, or wp-config?November 24, 2011 at 10:39 pm #124976pcwriter
ParticipantYou can simply replace the WordPress search form code in your theme template with the following (it will give you the standard BP search form for Members, Groups, Blogs, Forums, Posts). Plus, the “Search anything…” default text will disappear when the user clicks in it.
`<form action="” method=”post” id=”search-form”>
<input type="text" id="search-terms" name="search-terms" value="” onfocus=”if (this.value == ” ) { this.value = ”; }” onblur=”if (this.value == ”) { this.value = ”;}” /> in<input type="submit" name="search-submit" id="search-submit" value="” />

MemberMy apologies, yes it used to be call WPMU they have now made it part of the main WordPress install and call it Multisite.
So yes I have an install of WordPress with Multisite activated. I have not seen anything that says the latest version of Buddypress is not compatible with WordPress Multisite.
UPDATE
I have tried a fresh install of WordPress with Buddypress installed. I now have the following happening…The settings page still stays the same on a save but if you refresh the page your changes are now visible (This was not happening before). So it seems that the save is now happening it just still shows you the old data first after you press the save button. This seems to make it confusing as you think the save did not complete.
Further to this, if you use the default buddypress theme the save works first time everytime correctly. The above only seems to happen if I am using a different theme with the buddypress template pack to make the theme compatible.
So does this mean there is a bug in the template pack? If so any suggestions on how I can make the form display your newly saved data right after the save.
Thanks

KeymasterIn the WP admin dashboard, try navigating to “BuddyPress > Forums”.
Under “Forums for Groups”, try clicking on “Install Group Forums”. If you don’t see that, click on “Uninstall group forums”, then you should see the Install Group Forums button, click on that button.
Next, under “BuddyPress > Components”, make sure that “Discussion Forums” is checked.

If that doesn’t work, it could be a database problem. Try logging into phpMyAdmin and repairing your tables.
Also make sure that the following tables exist and have data populated in them:
* wp_bb_forums
* wp_bb_meta
* wp_bb_posts
* wp_bb_terms
* wp_bb_term_relationships
* wp_bb_term_taxonomy
* wp_bb_topicsNovember 24, 2011 at 7:34 pm #124969In reply to: Ho to customize bp_get_loggedin_user_nav?

ParticipantHello mercime, thank you for your assistence..
No, I didn’t make any upgrade in this month.. nor installed a new plugin.. My forums worked good before..
But I have some changes because my site was hacked, and this affected the Buddypress default theme: all my index.php files receive a malicious code.
I cleaned all files, changed my passwords, etc… When I saw the problem with the forums (today) I reinstalled all Buddypress files.. but the forum doesn’t work.
I used Installation Wizard when installed Buddypress.. Any idea?

Participant== The thing that comes to my mind is that I have installed both sites to a subdomain eg. name.mydomain.com ==
BP has no problem being installed in physical subdomains or in secondary blogs of multisite installations with subdomain structure as far as I know.I noted in your 2nd post that you were trying to make your WP theme compatible with BuddyPress. If you’re using the bp-default theme, you should deactivate the BP Template Pack plugin. What showed up in your error logs?

Participant== I’m using BP 1.5.1, I didn’t have problem until days ago ==
Did you just upgrade and/or install a new theme or plugin recently?
Did you go through the Installation Wizard?
Have you gone to dashboard menu BuddyPress > Forums > Forums for Groups – and clicked on Use Existing Installation?November 24, 2011 at 4:41 pm #124956In reply to: [resolved] Thanks for the help Mercime and Xevo!
@mercime
ParticipantThe problem IS the parent theme Detox. With all the warnings and deprecated notices generated, if that theme was submitted to the WordPress Theme Repository, it would not be approved with all those errors. That theme is listed with issues on this page https://codex.buddypress.org/releases/1-5-theme-compatibility/
You have to fix the theme, or drop it and get a WordPress Theme. Then install BP Template Pack plugin. Go through the BP compatibility process and if you need help with that, post here.
