As I stated in previous posts…..
when I click the link, I am sometimes taken to a page where im asked to enter a activation key. But there is no activation key in the email. Just a link.
Clicking the link doesn’t add the activation code in the input field does it? Where is the email with the activation code that needs to be entered in to input

Here’s what happens.
I get an email. It contains an activation link. If I click that link, sometimes im taken to a page that asks for an activation key to be entered in to an field. But I never received an activation key.
@Andrea_r so youre saying there are two emails? One with the link and another with the key?
If thats the case, Why does one email come through with the link and the other doesnt?

Switch your theme to the default one included with buddypress and then try those tasks again.
nearest I can think of is a theme switcher widget (yes, they exist all over the plugin repo) and t won’t be labelled buddypress-specific.
this will get you close. you’ll have to test because you might get wonky results. And tell the client he’s not gonna get all he wants. ;)P
Im working for new plugin (framework) for building web services ,this allows expose functionality of wordpress, buddypress or any other functions to other web sites and desktop applications. It is similar to the APIs provided by sites like Flickr and Twitter

@4ella is right. After BuddyPress 1.3 will be released, I will update my BP Groups Extras.
I have the same needs , to add new fields to the groups, @slaffik has developed Groups Extras which gives you new fields but problem is that you have to create the form for every single group again and again , so you will spend a lot of time with creating the form where you can add unlimited fields (this is nice) , I asked him to create only one or more forms in admin dashboard and to add this form to groups creation single page (group description page) , he has said that he will release new version with BP 1.3 . In the meantime when the upgraded plugin will be released I would welcome to add some new fields to the group creation below Title and Description as you have suggested.
I couldn’t get this theme to work with the latest trunk version of BP from a few days ago. I stuck the theme in the both /wp-content/themes/ and in /plugins/buddypress/themes/, and everything, but WP would never pick it up. 
I found a workaround by making all new members automatically member of a “member directory” group. That way they can see all other members. Unfortunately there’s no search attached which means when you have a lot of members it will be very difficult if not impossible to find somebody. There is a search under “invite to the group” but it’s not working.
so you’d want users to have to a authenticate twice? What is the reasoning behind this? I don’t see why that would be beneficial

I’m sorry, but we tested on several themes. It has nothing to do with the theme; forget I ever mentioned the theme at all.
I’m starting to understand why the search is not working. Apparently only the administrator has access to the members directory (?) Anyone should have access to that, otherwise a profile search doesn’t work I’m afraid.
So I suspect that’s an authority problem.
So no plugins to be able to invite people other than the not working one which says when trying to install that it has not been tested yet for my version of WP?
People can’t invite eachother, because they can’t search eachother and therefore are clueless who else is on the network, furthermore group search isn’t working either, so they’re clueless as well which groups they might be interested in because there’s no list of them.
You really never had anyone who found these problems a limitation?

This is also specific to BuddyPress… I have an updates status bar at the bottom of my website that scrolls through the recent updates to the website (posts, pb activity, comments, etc) and all the links work from that bar (if there is a new posts, you can clik, and it takes you to the post’s page)… except for BuddyPress links, you click to view the recent update and it, once again, redirects you to the homepage.
@Boone, I agree, you would be able to change twitter accounts after login. Current twit connects do not allow changing accounts.
The issue for users is this scenario; what if every twitter app made you login then re auth just to send tweets? I want to kill the double auth. There is no forcing of Twitter login. If you use WP login then going to your Twitter tab it would ask you to add Twitter. So you either add it at reg. or later or not at all.
I am having the same problem with it currently. It says no post exists when I follow the link. I think the framework for it is good though so I will play with it a bit and see what I can do.
I feel you man, paying work comes first. Hopefully this internet business will be up and running though so I can work from home!
Say, you wouldn’t have any thoughts on how to facilitate multiple registration forms that are compatible with buddypress but use S2members membership levels to decide which registration form to go to? Just a shot in the dark lol.
Yes, I am using the latest version of WordPress, the latest version of Buddypress, and latest version of Suffusion theme. There was no problem a while ago, but now the avatar does not upload on the first page even though it shows successful avatar upload

I’d rather not be forced to use my Twitter login for WP authentication. It’s nice when it’s an option, but to force it might raise privacy concerns, among other things. I would prefer to have the option at registration: use a Twitter login for authentication and get my Twitter account synced automatically, or create a standalone WP login, which can later be linked to my Twitter account if I so wish. (This has the added bonus of allowing me to associate with a different Twitter account at a later date if I want to change.)

Do you have forums, groups, and activity turned on at Dashboard >BuddyPress > Component Setup?
I don’t get any cropping issues so my first thoughts would be you say you have a version of the default theme from an older BuddyPress install. Can you try the newer version that came with 1.2.9 please? Also do you have any issues with other media uploading say through the media uploader?
What @mercime means is that several of your questions are dependent on the theme you’ve purchased, ‘executive’. WPMU.org is not the official WordPress site, but is a private company that sells themes and plugins. It’s not possible for people on this free forum to provide support for a theme that is sold privately; you should go to wpmu.org for that.
General BuddyPress questions are welcome here, though. For instance,

BuddyPress does not add a members directory to your Dashboard. You can find a members list at Dashboard > Users (or Dashboard >Network Admin > Users on Multisite)
