There’s a plugin available that stops the registration emails and auto-activates accounts available at BuddyDev.com but it’s a premium plugin (site membership = $30/3 months).

Problem:

Set s2Member -> Multisite(config) -> Multisite Registration ( Main Site Configuration ) -> Yes allow open registration

Well, I must agree with some guys here, that it really should register users out of the box.

Solution confirmed:
Mail From plugin allows to send the email to the user.

The next small issue is that gmail catches that email as spam…

Hi, donno if I can be of any help, however have you changed the permlink setup from the default AND updated your .htaccess file accordingly ?`

I have little knowledge of BP so this might not be your issue at all, but it’s worth checking..

@JBo796 WP/BP versions? Have you changed theme to bp-default, deactivated all plugins except BuddyPress, cleared cache, create a test user account and then check if BP log in works?

Plugins extend BP and provide much of the functionality required such as this. Always have a hunt through the plugins list.

This one should suit purpose:

I am having a similar issue with the buddypress login. It will redirect users to the home page after logging in, but will not actually log them in. They are also not receiving an email to activate their account. Any suggestions?

Having the same logout issue as well. Mine seems to be specific to the homepage only – strange…?

To remove the notifications subnav item, add the following snippet to your functions.php file:

both are the newest versions available. WP is 3.0.5 and BP is 1.2.7 (latest addition i could find). through the course of my troubleshooting I have indeed removed all plugins just BP enabled. theme is “Simple WP Community Theme 1.6”, however I have also tried with just the standalone BP theme included, BuddyPress Default 1.2.7. I have also completely removed BP and completed a fresh install twice – still the same problem.
