With bp-multi-network membership is shared across networks, the members directory in each network will list all active members, yet each member has a separate profile within each network.
bp xprofile fields are network specific. If a member joins via one network that members registration xprofile fields are specific to just that network.
So say for example you had networks based on location, New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver, etc etc
At the moment there appears to be no way of showing, in the members directory of each network, from which network each member originated. (other than on a particular network the particular members that originated in that particular network)
For example John Doe (from New York network) can be shown in the New York as originating from there, but his origins can’t be shown (with xprofile fields) say in the Los Angeles Members Directory unless he actually fills out the profile fields in the Los Angeles network.
As a way round this I have attempted the following and I need some help to complete it (if it is possible).
Inserted a field in the registration form using @johnjamesjacoby suggestion (though old) from http://buddypress.org/community/groups/creating-extending/forum/topic/how-to-add-custom-usermeta-to-registration/?topic_page=1&num=15
After registering a few users I then tried the following on different networks
where 80 (and other integers) was the userid of new members and “thenetwork” was the registration field added via @johnjamesjacoby ‘s code.`<?php $user_info = get_userdata(80);
echo $user_info->thenetwork;
?>`It returned the correct data for all userids.
BUT when I added the code below to the members-loop.php
`thenetwork; ?>`
it returned the members id for each member but NOT the data from $user_info->the network.
Can this be done ? If so how ? Is there a simpler way ?
I am trying to add the buddypress profile edit screen to sub blog admin menu. I have create a menu item called my profile.
If I use the loop found in the mytheme/members/single/profile/edit.php file I could recreate the edit page within a sub blog but how do I feed that loop with the current members data?
Is this simple? Maybe there’s a way I could change the permalinks of Buddypress’ avatar links to something that would end with their name like this: “mydomain.com/wp-content/1/Username”
I’ve already been messing around with the code & it seems that there is a “wp_hash” function I should play with. Is there a better way? If not, then could someone help shed some light

This is a fresh install of the latest wordpress 3.4.1 and latest buddypress 1.5.6

Never had this problem before
Running WordPress MS 3.4.1 and BuddyPress 1.5.6 with a child theme of BuddyBoss, when users access their profile pages they can edit their information and hit save. This is written to the database but doesn’t show on the edit profile page or on the public profile page (the public profile page is totally empty of profile content).
I’ve tried disabling all plugins, reinstalling BuddyPress, loading the members/single folder from the default BuddyPress theme, activating the default BuddyPress theme and am even experiencing the exact same problem on another site on another domain. The only thing that I think it could be (because I haven’t changed it) is my table prefix which is not set to wp_ or bp_ but rather a random sequence of letters and numbers. Obviously this is configured in wp-config accordingly and the rest of the site works just fine, it is simply public profile content that doesn’t display.
Googling this error makes it look like a bug in BuddyPress that has existed for some time. What causes it and how can it be fixed? Will it be fixed in future upgrades?

I’ve installed Buddypress 1.5.6 running on a WordPress 3.4.0 (not MU).
Further installed Plugins:
-s2Member Pro
-BuddyPress Private Community
-BuddyPress Profile Privacy
-BuddyPress Album
-EventManagerThis should be all plugins which have influence on BuddyPress.
My Problem now is everything works fine except the private messages. I can send them to my friends but when i try to answer them following Error-Message occurs: “Es trat ein Fehler auf beim Senden der Antwort. Bitte versuchen Sie es noch einmal.” Translated: “An error occured while sending the answer – please try again later.”
When i write a new message to the user it works perfectly but answering the private message just won’t work. I think there is a problem with the automatic recipient identification but i failed to find the error. Searching the web i found no similar problem so i hope you guys can help.
