January 5, 2011 at 2:52 am #101938ParticipantI saw the exact same scenario as Anointed described in the first 2 messages of this thread. I tried to perform some experiments with fresh installs and believe I may have linked at least one of my issues to an interaction between BuddyPress and Multi-DB.

ParticipantI’m not exactly sure how they implemented it here, but I think they used the Group API: https://codex.buddypress.org/developer-docs/group-extension-api/ Even if they didn’t, you could use it to do basically the same thing.

ParticipantNetwork activate it. That’s all you do. Then it runs on the MAIN site.
If you want the Buddypress home base to be on a different site, you need to add a line in the wp-confgi.php file to tell it to do so.
define ( ‘BP_ROOT_BLOG’, $blog_id );
And replace $blog_id with the actual IDd number of the site you want it to run on.

MemberSo the site is coming along pretty well. The menu has been fixed though I think I want to use different colors for the subnav. Id like to add the who is online and follow widgets to the enhanced members widget which will clean up the sidebar a bit. I am also still working on the buddypress look and feel. With having a few buddypress plugins the menu bar gets so convoluted so I decided to strech the bar the width of the main content which to me looks to have cleaned things up. I have also installed WoWRoster which I do plan on converting into a wp/buddypress plugin when I have time between work and playing wow. The roster is installed here http://veneratios.com/roster/

Stable tag: 1.1which you appear to have as well, wonder if it has to do with the loader.php or at least having a file with that name or similar I used upm-loader.php to initialize and call the main file slightly unnecessarily as I remember thinking as could quite easily have worked from the main file and run the BP init check

You made a mistake when naming the folder or when calling the css/js files. When you install the plugin it tried to load the CSS and JS in the following path:
/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-activity-bar
While the actual path is
/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-activity-stream-bar
Changing the folder name causes a php error

Memberme. I think its confusing that when you are viewing the activity stream you see a name. if you want to do an @ in a reply, you have to go to the person’s profile to find their @name and then back to where you were to leave the reply/comment. Anyway ideas to work a way around this without a huge mess? Like maybe a little script/code so a tool tip pops up with the @name?

It’s been fixed in the trunk: https://trac.buddypress.org/changeset/3651 If you’re having the problem on 1.2.7, you should be able to fix it by making the following changes:
– In bp-xprofile/bp-xprofile-filters.php, change line 81 to
`$field_value = bp_format_time( $field_value, true, false );`
– In bp-core/bp-core-templatetags.php, change line 815 to
`function bp_format_time( $time, $just_date = false, $localize_time = true ) {`
and replace line 820 with the following lines:
`$root_blog_offset = false;
if ( $localize_time )
$root_blog_offset = get_blog_option( BP_ROOT_BLOG, ‘gmt_offset’ ); `Thanks to Brandon for the fix.
