Participant@paulhastings0 – are you suggesting we should copy good code snippets from these forums across to a 3rd party site that will sell themes? That’s sounds like a lot of freely acquired content and SEO for what’s ostensibly a commercial business.
I’m generally happy to submit and publish code to help people on these forums (and for them to use how they see fit, commercial or otherwise). It will occasionally be abused, and there are spam sites that will trawl and re-publish as their own work, and we can’t prevent that.
However, if I thought it was being republished blatantly with little added value, as you suggest, as an offering from another business, I would be much more reluctant to publish it in the first place.

Global search on BuddyPress is still in its infancy, there are issues.
But I dont have any global search issues on any other pages other than my Members Page?
They also linked me to this:
Would that help, or is there something else at the root of the problem here?

MemberThanks. I had found that same post yesterday and already applied it. Works great!
I like it because I get the benefit of “post on wall” type usability, and I still get the email notifications, which I think is an important feature. I now simply wish to have “ @username” tagging (mentions) to continue to work as always, yet I want to tweak the look of the site so user’s who don’t want to try to understand it don’t feel like they have to.

Also, regarding my #2 point above: The user who is doing the posting never has to type an “ @user” and cannot delete it from the posting form, because it gets added behind the scenes after he or she posts. Nice! Like I said, now I just need to tweak the site design to make the “mention this user” button go away, and perhaps rename the “mentions” filter menu choice.

KeymasterThis should preferably be posted in the oEmbed BP forum:
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/oembed-for-buddypress/forumBut anyway… yup it should be possible.
Would have to write a custom activity fetch routine to do this. Might add this for oEmbed for BP 0.7 (that’s right, I’m talking about 0.7 before 0.6 is officially released!).
Re: thumbnails – I’m working on support for that for v0.6. Not all providers will return thumbnails. YouTube will work though.

KeymasterOkay, so I’ll probably create a plugin for this in the coming week or two. Please remind me if I don’t get to this!
@dougjoseph – Your ideas have been discussed before.

Member@Jalien – not sure just how I missed your request before. If you need to use SCORM (and not everyone does/should), we released a plug-in a month or so ago that does just that. It allows you to use our SCORM Cloud product directly in WordPress and it’s BuddyPress compatible. You can see an example of it in BuddyPress on my testing blog – http://susanvillaslewis.com/scormtesting/ – although you have to be registered user to see the courses. Jimboba
ParticipantHello @hnla and @mercime. Thanks for your attention.
However I think you’ll see from previous posts that I have changed the Permalinks settings from the default (to Month and name) successfuly.
I have checked the URL settings and both the WordPress address (URL) and Site address (URL) are the same (‘blog’ subdirectory of root).
I have activated the default theme (successfully in the admin) but once installed all links from admin or the blog result in the error described. So I’m no further forward at the moment. I have also deleted and reinstalled BuddyPress. No difference.
Happy to leave the ‘broken’ blog in place so you can look to see if I’m missing something: http://www.warchest.co.uk/blog/
Thanks in advance
