KeymasterI had a BuddyPress 1.1.x era plugin that added FOAF to user and group profiles. I was trying to learn FOAF & SIOC & RDFa at the time so I have probably accidentally used some of the wrong taxonomies. It did help out on Google page rank pretty well.
So, with those provisos, here’s the link to my old SVN for the code. I haven’t looked at it in over a year so YMMV:

Participant@thelandman I just wanted to let you know that @sbrajesh has been working on chat plugin of his own. Perhaps the 2 of you could combine efforts? He has a beta who’s source code is now GPL.

Participant@LPH2005 It’s the iframe inserted in header.php – after the body tag and before the div#header – in your 404.php

ParticipantSomething appears amiss with your urls, for example: http://www.ibonvivant.com/http:/www.ibonvivant.com/home
Try deactivating all of your plugins except for BuddyPress and see if it works.

ParticipantWill do, @djpaul. This was one of the factors for contacting you about potential work in the future. It’s a huge research interest of mine and something I’d love to be able to do at the moment in BuddyPress as a way to further prove its worth as a LMS.
September 27, 2010 at 2:49 am #93497In reply to: Multi-Site and BP
@mercime
Participant1) Check that single WP is working then enable Multisite.
2) Do the WP config checks recommended in Codex article.
3) Install and activate BuddyPress. Check functionality of BP components.
4) Then install and activate BuddyPress Courseware. If you find some issues, you can see whether others have had same problem as you have and find resolution OR create a new topic in plugin’s group forums at https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-courseware/forum/September 27, 2010 at 1:16 am #93495In reply to: friendship chain 4 buddypress?

ParticipantSorry, but I haven’t heard anything about it for a while. I believe the term you’re searching for is “Friend of a Friend” or, “FOAF”.

ParticipantOk great. Thanks so much for this information. I will let you know how it goes.
Is it better to enable Multi-Site first? If I recall, I think I downloaded BuddyPress/Courseware and then I enabled Multi-Site. Maybe that was part of the problem?
Thanks again!

@mercime
ParticipantYup, those are abnormal behaviors for a WP multisite installation.
I would suggest that you make a backup of files and database, then re-install from scratch – clean wp-config.php, delete .htaccess file and drop database tables. I would suggest not using “Enable Multisite Plugin” and Create a Network manually. Get your feet wet already with the nitty gritty.
Read this BP Codex article – Before installing BuddyPress – specifically about double checking WP “wellness” before activating BuddyPress https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/before-installing/#wp-configuration for a less bumpy road to BP social site.

ParticipantWhen you close a thread it’s really helpful for those that might happen across it with the same issue to explain briefly what resolved it for you – if possible!

ParticipantIt’s not possible with the current profile implementation to have structured fields made up of several component parts (they’d be useful though!).
As a workaround – you could group them together in their own profile group – and then it would require some rework of the edit / view profile templates to present the profile as you want it.

ParticipantI don’t see any wp_bb_ tables in that list, that though doesn’t necessarilly have a bearing on the page not found, unless the forum componant in not installing means no path to be found.
The sub domain isn’t an issue, it’s just a domain, as long as everything is working in the doc root which is the more important aspect, I’m currently working on an install that is working as a sub domain of the top level domain , no special steps are required for that.
