Hi Everybody,
i’ve set up group forums, then created a group and added a forum topic in this group. Works perfectly so far…
My problem here is, that i get a message “sorry, there were no forum topics found” when i hit the “forums”-tab to see the “forums directory”
This only happens when the group is set to non-public
May be i’am wrong, but i would expect that i see the forum topics of groups where i am a member of. Even if the group is non-public.
As an admin-user this is the case.
– I did a basic installation of wordpress/buddypress with no other plugins so far.
– Versions are latest as of today.
– fresh subdomain install
– shipped standard theme
– lampIf anyone can help with this I would really appreciate it.

tdoubleuI have a newly installed latest BP with WordPress 3.3.1 without multisite configuration.
When I tried to upload a picture sized 160kb for my avatar, an error message showed up telling me the file must be less than 98kb for the avatars.
However, my wordpress install allows file uploads to 250MB max, so I’ve been wondering why BuddyPress is limiting so much. And…I can’t find any configuration page to set avatar max upload size for BuddyPress.
Does anybody know how to fix this problem?
I didn’t write the resolution, here’s what I did.
1. Create bp-custom.php
2. Add define (‘BP_AVATAR_ORIGINAL_MAX_FILESIZE’, #); where # is the file size
3. Upload it under wp-content/plugins/ (do not upload it under budypress)Hello everyone!
I am trying to setup buddypress on my pc to test it out and see if I can eventually start a site. I am a bit new to wp. Whenever I install buddypress, it seems to work but when I log in from the homepage it takes me to http://127.0.0.1/wp-login.php and all I see is a blank page. It does actually log me in, I can go back to the home page and then browse the site fine but I cannot stop the initial blank page from popping up every time.
Here is some info that may or may not be useful:
-I am running windows 7
-I have wamp installed and working
-wordpress works fine when buddypress is deactivated
-I am not using any other plugins, everything is set to the default settings minus changing the permalinks for buddypress. Nothing else was added to wordpress, it’s just there to get buddypress up and testing
-I can uninstall wp, delete the mysql table and reinstall everything from a clean slate and still see this problem
-wp is in the root directory
-I have turned on the wp debug and I see no errors. There are no errors in the php or apache logs either.Any help would be much appreciated, look forward to hearing from everyone!

I have a very big problem with buddypress. I’m using an anti-spam and WangGuard, I have changed the registration link, but there are so many spams on registration : at leat 3 spam registrations per day, and they send messages to all members.
I cannot make a moderation user by user, is there any solution to not allow spams and fake accounts to register ?Hey there,
I am new to developing with WordPress and Buddypress and I cant seem to figure out how I can show the full image that has been uploaded as the Groups Avatar instead of the page just showing the cropped and / or thumb-nailed version.

One of these aspects that’s not really buddypress related- it classically sounds like permissions issues as that is what 403 means
so not sure why your tech says perms are ok, might be a case that file perms are ok but that the web server hasn’t got correct access (group or owner) to write to files ?either way it’s going to be something that we will not be able to help with too any great extent, check your server access logs try and track down the issue there, also ask your techie to check that the web server does have correct perms to write to files – can you do stuff like media uploads ok?
If it matters, we’re running WordPress 3.3.1 (with the current version of BP) and the active site is at http://maclab.guhsd.net/blog/
District tech has verified permissions are set correctly. He suspects something odd is happening with the htaccess file. I’m more of a graphics guy than a coder so I’m unable to offer any insight into the issue. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.
Oh, and if the test site at http://maclab.guhsd.net/blog2/ becomes visible (once the guy at the district waves his magic wand), it will look horrible as we’ve not yet applied the new template.

I’m currently trying to update my teacher’s site and we are trying to get it all set up on a test server to make sure it runs smoothly. The url to the test site is http://maclab.guhsd.net/blog2 and our issue is an Access Forbidden 403 Error that occurs when we try to update our permalinks to Numeric from his old Default links. We have to contact a man at the school district each time to remove a huge chunk of code from our access file that spawns every time we try to make a change like this. Any idea why this is happening? Happened when we tried to install and set up BuddyPress the first time.

Hi,
I’ve got BuddyPress working with all the default sections. But I need to add a loop to one of my wordpress templates to display the activity stream for a specific Group.I can get the stream to appear for all site wide updates or to show a list of the Groups that exist but cannot get the activity stream for the Group ‘Showreels’ to appear.
I’ve tried playing with the loop details here but can’t get it to work:

First of all I would like to say that BuddyPress really looks like a promising tool. Now I wonder if it would be the right tool for me to use. I hope that you guys and girls can help me out.
What I would like to achieve:
– The purpose is to have one general domain: http://www.domain.com
– A user (called SuperUser from now on) can sign up to create his own small community; for example http://www.domain.com/communityname
– That SuperUser can invite different other users (by use of an email address). So it would be invite-only
– The price that the SuperUser should pay for his community depends on the amount of users he invites.I tried to describe it as clearly as possible. If you need more information to provide an answer, I would be more than happy to answer.
