I have WPMU set up. Buddypress installed with multisite enabled. I tried installing “New! Site Wide Forums” but the install button didn’t take me to BBpress. I installed BBpress separately. Now I’m getting You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page messages all over the place. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling all my plugins, changing the page locations for the forums and nothing gets rid of this message. I’m pretty much going to have to start over from scratch unless anyone has a suggestion.

– WP/BP versions? WP – 3.3.1 / BP – 1.5.3.1
– Are you on Windows or Linux server? Linux Server
– Have you changed to bp-default theme? Yes… I tested a few themes.
– Have you deactivated plugins except BuddyPress to isolate issue/s? I have a total of 4 Plugins active… Better RSS Widget, Black Studio TinyMCE Widget, BuddyPress, Private BuddyPress… Originally I thought it was the Private BuddyPress plugin that was causing the issue. I deactivated it and the problem continued.

I’m wondering if anyone of you may have an idea if it’s possible to have something like a “Verify-System” between users. I saw the “BuddyPress Verified” Plugin which is really great but there is no ability to verify by users or ad new text.
So I thought maybe someone else had the same idea and found a solution.

This a great discussion because I’m in Neononcon’s and Hysteriux’ shoes somewhat. I’m a web publisher who’s preparing to revamp an existing site to WP, and my potential devs are telling me I really need to incorporate BP as a major component. But I’m not clear about certain functionalities and if BP can really do what I need it to do. And I’ve looked at many of the examples from the links nicely given above (thanks!) and elsewhere, but still do not see my answers. So may I ask 3 very specific questions that can hopefully be answered by those here more experienced than me? Yes? Here goes…
1. Can BP Groups have separate “discussions” (like forum threads) INSIDE the Group? Not one single thread but unlimited threads. Just like a Forum. Here’s a hypothetical situation: A Group called “Photo Critiques” where each User would submit photos in a separate thread within this group. And others can them comment and critique that User’s photos. In that thread. And there would be a Sticky thread at top explaining the instructions, etc. Doable?
2. And each separate thread would have full photo uploading capability (or “side-loading” if photo is already housed somewhere). Doable?
3. And there could be a dedicated Photo Gallery/Album for THAT Group as a whole. Doable?
Is BuddyPress suitable this scenario?

Unfortunately I don’t have access to php MyAdmin. I had the site owner check the database and he says he doesn’t see the above tables or bb-config.php in in the WP root.
In BuddyPress the forums page is associated with forums.
What can I do to troubleshoot the installation?

I guess I can disable the buddypress blog directory and replace it with a blog directory via plugin or other. I need to add my current users as members, since they are not seen by the bp network.
Try `echo bp_core_get_userlink( bp_loggedin_user_id() );` like Buddypress’s standard login form uses in the sidebar.
Have those users logged in since you’ve activated BuddyPress?
So far I’m still in need of assistance.
Anyone can tell me where do I look in Buddypress or BBpress for the code that pulls updates from forums to activity stream?
My forums image thumbnails doesn’t get the right css class at activity stream.

I made a fresh installation of WordPress (multi-site enable) and buddypress.
All is working fine in Groups, Forum, Activity.
But the is a huge problem:
I have 3 members correctly registered but appears “No members were found” in the members page and /wp-admin/network/index.php 
how can i resolve this problem?
I searched the wp and buddypress forums but i can’t find help.

No. I installed the same theme and plugins on another domain and it works there… I already manually reinstalled buddypress and bbpress. And I pressed the reinstall wordpress button on the dashboard updates…. This is beyond my knowledge.
I tried to start from scratch with wordpress and then buddypress. I guess the solution is easy. but I am stuck…. so a little hel! Also Brayjason – it is nice to know that I am not alone. so thanks for your input

Categories are the menu under the logo…pages are the very upper menu, buddypress is on the top of the page…the black strip with the “In” word

I just installed BuddyPress.
Then I went to install the forum. I did the (Installed) Forums for Groups installation – then I went to the forum and created a new forum. just added at title and pushed publish. then I viewed the page – and it is BLANK. so what am I doing wrong here
hai everybody, i need your help, in buddypress every user must be have an image called ”avatar”, but i want every user have two image beside their avatar, for example every user have their ”First Avatar” and their ”Second avatar”. Can you help me to make that thing ? , i have try to duplicate the default ”change-avatar.php” code, but when i try to test and delete one of them, the other one avatar followed and deleted.
Hello, if i could use the original wordpress registration it would solve all my problems.
It allows the user of 1 username, caps, spaces etc.
If i disable the buddpress plugin, create a user account with the wp register, and re enable the bp plugin… i can use the account i created just fine.
Any help on this?
the only noob way i can think of is creating another wordpress install on another directry say site.com/bp/wp
and use the same database details for both and then have the register page from bp redirect to the wordpress register…

Sorry, I cannot read the language and can’t even tell where the categories are. What specific links are BuddyPress pages? If it’s an issue with categories, you should contact theme developer.

What Page did you associate with “Members” during the Installation Wizard?
