ParticipantTry editing in header.php in your theme. If you look at bp-default theme>header.php, on line 46+ you can see the menu tabs, just re-arrange them to suit your needs.

Participant@deanjrobinson As mentioned on twitter before I’m really looking forward to this. How is the twitter/facebook integration achieved? Through existing plugins I assume?

ParticipantI am suprised that such a basic feature of having a global forum is not part of buddypress.
@gregfielding
I don’t see any other plugin that they offer and I need. So 30$ for having a basic feature such as a forum is not inexpensive to me! phpBB has been free for over 10 years and offers much more than just a global forum.July 20, 2010 at 6:24 am #86231José M. Villar

Participant@mercime good call on the categorisation and something that can be easily achieved using multiple instances of my “Groups + Topics” widget (already done
) assuming thats what you meant?July 20, 2010 at 4:29 am #86225In reply to: One Quick Post vs Jet QuickPress
@mercime
Participant@intimez I tested https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jet-quickpress/ on WPMU 2.9.2 and WP 3.0 with BP 1.2.5.2 and it’s working as advertised, it is BP compatible. In addition, if blog creation is enabled, there is a dropdown for which blog/subblog you want your post to be published in. I haven’t tried One Quick Post yet.

Participant@deanjrobinson – cool functions, almost as cool as the Fluency Admin plugin

I would like to suggest adding categories to your Groups i.e. Help Groups for Plugins, Help Group for Themes, etc. for better organization.

KeymasterAndy did not create these plugins. There is currently a bug in the BuddyPress plugin directory that doesn’t attach some plugin authors to their respective plugin. It falls back to Andy’s avatar when the bug occurs.

KeymasterOK, as promised. Here’s how to make it work. Two steps.
1) You’ll have to patch your BuddyPress core files in the following way: https://trac.buddypress.org/attachment/ticket/2540/new_hooks_after_auto_group_join.patch. I’m hoping that the patch will go seamlessly into the core in the next version of BP (it’s less obtrusive than some of the less hackish fixes that Paul was probably thinking of above).
2) Put the following code in your bp-custom.php file: http://pastebin.com/NPSRxG3C.In brief, here’s what happens: when a non-member posts to a group, he still joins the group (necessary in order to be able to post in the group forum). But the user is temporarily flagged as having been auto-joined, and immediately after the post goes through, the user is removed from the group. Also, a little cookie hack makes sure that the user doesn’t get a “You have successfully left the group” message after posting. Let me know if it works.

July 19, 2010 at 8:44 pm #86195In reply to: New Component – prayer plugin
ourfusion
ParticipantThanks for the input so far…
@mercime – The idea behind it would be that we would allow existing groups (both private and public) to have their own prayer requests so that a group that is based off of a small group bible study per say, would be able to post privately so that only members in that group would be able to view them.thanks for these ideas, and any more you may have

KeymasterYou can’t remove it as an action, since bp_get_displayed_user_nav() is a template tag and not an actionable item.
If you’re using a child theme, remove the calls to bp_get_displayed_user_nav() or try hiding the menu via CSS.*Edit – Just thought of a sneaky way of doing this.
Add the following to your theme’s functions.php:

Ali Erkurt
Participant@r-a-y I tried it now and saw that, there is no problem with the groups I created recently. When I navigate to Group Settings and click Save Changes, it’s OK. After I do that, I click to Group Details and click to Save Changes again, everything is fine. There’s a problem about updating group settings I guess. How can I optimize all of groups? I have almost 200 groups.
