But no, it’s not possible yet. There are developer/s who might be rolling out plugin/s for BP in different multisites but probably not until after BP 1.3 stable is out.July 8, 2010 at 2:44 am #84695Eduardo Franco
Participantok, i have wordpress 3.0 and buddypress 1.2.5
i can activate the plugin, but firts the “event” tab, does’t appear, i fixed this with the code of the page 2.later, the options in the profile don’t show.
so i read i found this.in the line 278 of bp-events.php said:
add_action( ‘plugins_loaded’, ‘events_setup_nav’ );
add_action( ‘admin_menu’, ‘events_setup_nav’ );ADD THIS in the last line:
add_action( ‘bp_setup_nav’, ‘events_setup_nav’ );BUT when i go to “my events” or “invite” or “create an event” the page goes to the home.

Participant@bennadler – Thanks again. Where exactly you have put bp-custom.php ? I tried in all the documented paths, and yes php code wrapped around. My test site is ** subdirectory ** based and cannot get to work. A link to your active site will be appreciated.

MemberHi Work,
I am using WordPress Version 3.0 and BuddyPress 1.2.5.2 at the moment.
This method works like a charm.
Lovely and thank you for the assistance

Participant@anointed – a new component is not required – just add a new function to your custom/functions file that mimics
bp_blogs_record_post(same save_post action hook) but targeting whatever post_type you need. This would allow you to change up the “wrote a new blog post” and add whatever else (meta)July 7, 2010 at 11:39 pm #84681In reply to: how to access to bbpress admin from buddypress??

ParticipantHaha! Thanks for keeping the discussion in this thread.
Integrating bbPress with WordPress is not easy. In fact, it can be a real pain. I have not tried integrating bbP and WP since BuddyPress offered a different solution — group forums.
That being said, have you seen this article? More than likely it is out of date with WordPress 3.0, but I suggest posting a comment in that article and see if @theeasybutton can offer you any additional insights.

@mercime
Participant“Am I crazy to try to build a site on this foundation where I anticipate high levels of users? “
There’s nothing wrong with building a site on WP/BP, it all depends on your server. You could start with shared hosting, but once it gets to a certain number of sub-blogs (around 300 or so) you would need to go multiple DB and upgrade to dedicated hosting.“And, attached to the above, what is the difference between buddypress and buddypress MU?”
There’s only one BuddyPress plugin. And this plugin can be installed in either main site or one of sub-blogs at this time although you can enable multisite mode which is not the same as having several instances of BuddyPress in one installation. Perhaps you mean BuddyPress installed in WPMU, which as noted above works mainly in the main site or subsite.July 7, 2010 at 9:16 pm #84671In reply to: WordPress 3.0 – Run Buddypress on Secondary Blog

Be sure You have PERMALIKS ON , theme folder include BuddypressTemplate Pack files and on editing page below title is right url (example: [ Permalink: http://natfriends.com/site/members/%5D )
Now i trying this at localhost. Is working (WordPress 3.1alpha BuddyPress 1.3-bleeding )July 7, 2010 at 8:57 pm #84668witmann
ParticipantThank you for the info. It’s a pity it’s not normally possible. I’ll try the Virtual Multiblog solution.

MemberHi Paul,
Ok, how do I do this? I’ve never done it before. Could you show me an example of the code and where to locate where the main navigation might be? I can send you the header.php if that helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantI really did not wanna create a new thread as my problem is very similar to this current thread.
The only issue I can’t wrap my head around is all I have is a plain vanilla WP 3.0 install. I got to the plugin page, searched for BuddyPress and installed it. All’s well till this point. The moment I activate the BP plugin, I lose the control panel. The default theme for WP 3.0 is the 2010 theme. Is there something else I’m missing?
For now, I moved the BP plugin outta the plugin dir; so got the control panel back. Any hints/thought?
Thanks.

ParticipantThis is not currently possible. Read the first post in the link on this thread: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/requests-feedback/forum/topic/allow-for-multiple-buddypress-instances-on-one-wordpress-mu-install/
As far as your current BuddyPress install, it seems like you do have an issue. If you want to figure that out, please start a new thread focused on that topic as the topic of this thread is Multiple BP installs on one WP network.

ParticipantI took it a little off topic to provide you with some help. I knew that you were having issues with bbPress and WordPress integration (as you have posted on several threads stating as much). So I was politely trying to provide a little help while asking to not turn this into a bbPress integration discussion. I should not have used the word “anymore” in the last sentence of my previous post.
Since your assertion was that bbPress does not integrate with BuddyPress, and whereas that is technically true, I knew that you really meant WordPress. Therefore, your assertion is not true. bbPress integrates with WordPress, it is just a tedious, difficult process.
Yes, this thread is about bbPress but it is also about SimplePress. I did not want it to turn into another “bbPress does not integrate” thread. Let’s compare bbPress and SimplePress integration with WordPress. In fact, I have changed the title of the post to better reflect the true subject.

Participant@Jeff Sayre are you saying I am taking it off topic? I wrote one sentence about integrating bbpress and buddypress in a thread about integrating bbpress and buddypress.
