Ok, so I think I am still experiencing the CSS issue on page editing screens because I am developing a child theme of bp-default. I updated the functions.php file as provided on the ticket but am I supposed to alter my child theme functions.php file? I have no idea how that would go. Maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree? Please help!

endif;`I’m using WHMCS Bridge which creates a new user when somebody signs up to WHMCS.
This is great, but because it uses the email as the signup name, which can easily be changed to whatever the user wants, the @name given is pretty much the email address (such as @userdomain-com).
This isn’t good as it is giving spammers a field day, being able to figure out so many email addresses on the site.
Is there a way to either use only the first X amount of characters in the user name or, better still, giving the user the option to change the @name, even if they can only do it one time.
Is this possible?

Topic: Permissions for bp forums?
I thought I posted yesterday, but appears my post is gone now. I got BP to work, but not the forums portion of the groups. I get this message:

Topic: Automatic Role Upgrading
I’d like to set some threshold of activity on my BuddyPress site after which users would automatically be upgraded to Author privileges. Is there some combination of plugins and settings that could do that? Or do I have to monitor all users and do it manually?

Hi, How to disable user to post blog post, as well as hide the ‘Dashboard” at the top of the nav bar. I installed buddypress in a single site and don’t want user to access to the Dashboard besides the admin. Even by setting the user’s role as member, they still can write a post and pass to admin to review. I don’t want this, I need the member totally stay out of the dashboard.

Hi. I’m new to it all, just got WordPress working, and now I have a second domain for another install of WordPress that I hope to be a BuddyPress site. I read somewhere (can’t recall where) that I should be installing and configuring WordPress manually if I am going to add BuddyPress, and not using my host’s automated WordrPress installer script. Not something I’m completely comfortable with (the script did it correctly for WordPress install on my other blog). Is this the case? Or does experience say it doesn’t matter (using softaculous script).
