KeymasterSeems you’ll need to bump up the amount of available memory in your installation. There are lots of documented ways to do this if you do a quick search of the web.

ParticipantI just spoke to my server support again because I figured out that the PHP setting for memory_limit was set at 32M on their end and no amount of .htaccess hacking could bypass that. I politely asked if they could increase the limit for me to 128M and they wound up setting it at 256M! I’m so lucky to be working with a hosting company that’s willing to do that for a shared hosting cheapskate like me, lol. The company is Servage by the way in case any of you are interested. If you go to them because of me, be sure to use this referral link so I can get some free months and some extra space for referring ya! Hope I didn’t break any forum rules by posting that. Feel free to edit that out if it does. Anyways… I’m going to install W3TC again tomorrow and I’m betting that it’s going to work this time.

KeymasterThe bb-attachments table wasn’t created properly.
I remember this bug when it was a bbPress plugin. You’ll have to manually create the table yourself in PHPMyAdmin (hopefully you have access to that!).
Here’s a post on the bbpress forums with the SQL query you need:

Participant@josh101 the intention is to help folks thinking about using BuddyPress. Will try to keep tutorials as simple as possible & also add BP functionality to some of the most used WP themes.
Lots more tutorials & themes will be added soon.
Thanks for joining up.June 30, 2010 at 1:53 am #83539In reply to: CometChat – Facebook style chat for BuddyPress

Participant@cometchat Do all of the packages have buddypress support on that page? Right now I have the skysa bar which is free so its not as good but I got it intergraded with my site except for the avatar and it dose not have friend support plus Im using there api which means no support as it is alter with the extra code. Im kinda leading towards the $49 but its branded but with skysa it cost me 99 a yr to not have branding. Which I dont plan to upgraded to. i just cant see how someone can pay and still have a branding? Then pay like 70 to remove it? This seems to be more priced to people who have a large site. Now if I had like 300 user I can see buying this but with only 3 of us who dont even use the bar we have now and the countless spam account joining everyday I think I will stick with skype in tell I get a large group of 300. So for now its in my book marks.

wp3.0 – mutisite enabled – no plugins (except buddypress 1.2.5) – Buddypress default themeedit: I have several installs on same host running similar setup except using bp 1.2.4 with no problems (well, not this one anyways)

Participant@mercime thanks, know it’s slightly confusing.
In reality we are converting the current BuddyPress theme to our WordPress theme & enabling BP features on that.
Will revisit the tutorial soon and see if I can explain any better.
Hope it helps for now though…June 30, 2010 at 12:27 am #83527In reply to: Removing Groups From Forums

Participant@thekmen From my point of view though, it looked more of converting WordPress theme to BuddyPress-compatible theme
In any case, great job on the tutorial. Cheers.June 29, 2010 at 11:49 pm #83519In reply to: WP Theme Conversion Tutorial

ParticipantSo you basically want to force Buddypress to work like a regular messageboard…

ParticipantWhy would I not? I like the fact that it is all integrated, wordpress, buddypress, and a messageboard. I wanted it to work like a regular messageboard, but when they start a new thread or comment in a thread it shows up their buddypress stream the way it does when you comment on a blog post.
I don’t use buddypress yet, I am waiting until I can get things to work the way I want.
