v1 is delayed until WPMU 2.7.1 is released so the guys can get automatic update built in etc – as far as i’m aware
However RC1 or the latest trunk build from SVN seems stable. Theres just bug fixes going on and i’ve just launched a BP site using an SVN build and so far so good.
Don’t delay – seems fine.
I have been waiting for almost a year. I am getting old …
Anyone know it?
Hi, I installed bbpress to my buddpress site, but the default theme looks so ugly.
I like this buddypress forum. Is it powered by bbpress? How to get the theme?
Eric
First of all i wanna thank for wonderful buddypress.
I’ve created a new account on my buddypress site. My personal blog had the address domain.com . I’ve used the export tool from domain.com to move my blog to mydomain.newdomain.com. After import everything seems to be ok excepting one small problem. On Site Wide Activity Widget i cant see anything from my blog. I make new posts every day but nothing is showing. I see only the comments that i leave on other blogs.
What could be the problem?
Thank you!
Hey, I’ve created a test site that I’m using to mess with BP. Just sorta diving in and poking around at this point. However, I hope that I will be able to start some social networking websites in the near future and I’m excited about the prospect of using BP to do that.
social2.ephillips.net
But the avatar uploads functions are not in WPMU, they are all in buddypress core. There’s no way to just alter the bp_core_check_avatar_size() function in bp-core-avatars to check for minimum 150×150? Can’t it just use the getimagesize() function since it actually returns width and height? I noticed it’s actually already being used in several functions.
Disable the home theme from the admin panel. Then, go into the Blogs panel, find your main blog listed, click ‘edit’ and you can get it to use any theme (regardless or not of the other permission setting).
Search on the forums, lot of topics around that

Hello all
I am very new to buddypress .
I did install buddypress and appears as working good .
but other than admin , like general user of website can also make a blog and select a budypress theme .
I don’t want allow the general user to use buddypress theme in their blog
Is there a way in bp-core-avatars to require users to upload avatars of 150×150 pixels or bigger? Right now if they upload an image smaller than that Buddypress puts a big ugly black border around the image.
How do you add items to the buddypress bar or next to the search bar in members profiles theme?
I want to add
Home
Blog
Members
Groups
Blogs
in the buddypress bar or next to search bar in the member theme instead of where they original reside?
Hi
How did you remove the admin in the profile page.
Regards,
Charles Pisano
Donnacha – I got it, thanks.
How do I put login-search-bar into bb-press header?
i want to completely rid of the sign up/login on the bb-press theme and instead include the login-search-bar that is included on the buddypress-home theme, how do i do this?
All the php functions are designed for the directory http://www.mysite.com and i want them to function at http://www.mysite.com/forum
how can i do this?
Thank you

It must be because you are running an older version of BP alunsina. Sign up goes to the registration form. What happens when you upgrade BP? White screen of death? There have been lots of changes recently including changes to the directory structure for the member themes. See: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=1675
That was effective rev 1211. Make sure you update the member and home themes also. Lots of changes in the security area from wpmu 2.6 to 2.7.
When you upgrade to the latest bp what do the apache error logs say? That’s the only way to find out what is going wrong. White screen of death means that a fatal php error is happening.
Let the competition begin! Mine is flying through the ether at this very moment. We still got ‘ether’ don’t we? Sorry that it’s boring, uncontroversial and reveals no secrets.
Ya right.
Hi!
I just noticed this recently and dont know if it has worked before. I upgraded to WPMU 2.7 but has not updated Buddypress yet (tried but got blank screen so reversed to backup and has not gotten around to re upgrading it yet).
Anyway, my concern is that the sign up button on the nav bar just goes to log in when in an specific blog. It works fine in the main page though. What can I do to fix it up. I really need it to work so that my community blogs (of sir burtadsit) will work properly. Thank you!
i made a french translation; Where can i give it to you ?

Nice move Andy. I had a hard time getting my head around the purpose of Member Themes, and after reading Using the BuddyPress Themes on the Codex and now this change has been made, it makes more sense.
Thank you very much for being so kind and for your interest to tell me all the solutions. But if i will use openx, i will be able to use it for all the blogs they will be registered? If yes,can you tell me in big lines how can i do that if i have several templates for the users to choose from?
I m also wondering what is the best template to use for home theme?
Went live today: http://www.nikerunningclub.nl
Still have to finetune some stuff. First time I used WPMU and BP, but liking it a lot and getting the hang of it. Unfortunately had to hardcode somes stuffe due to time shortage.
Try using ads plugins that provides widgets and install bpdev-widgets ( it’s included in bpdev plugins ) and put the widget in the users & groups page
(I know it will not help you, but it could be useful to know
)
