Topic: Auto-Notifications Question
Heya,
I’m considering using BuddyPress for a client and (while I’m downloading it now) I had a question regarding the setup of auto-notifications. The primary purpose of the press we’d be creating is to help users to find my client based on state (there is a representative from each state that would sign up).
Is it possible to have the new user action A.) Collect the State information of the new user, and then B.) Send a notification of the new user to the appropriate State’s representative via email? This would then allow the State’s Rep to add them as a friend and contact them through the press. The reason I ask is I don’t expect all the rep’s to check the site daily and would like to ensure new users aren’t ignored.
Thanks in advance for any help/thoughts/suggestions.

Topic: Favourites Plugin?
I was thinking about a plugin that would add something of a “Favourites” to Buddypress. It kind of ties in to a sidewide tagging component, so I don’t know if it should be apart of that, or be separate…
What I was thinking is that users can go to a group, event, profile, forum, blog, blog post, wire, photo, whatever and click on a button “Add to my favourites” and on the user’s profile page there will be a section “My Favourites” and it would list all the items in there. Maybe they can be grouped in sub ‘folders’, such as “Cats Favourites” and “Dogs Favourites”. Kind of a like dynamic folders, or “search” folders. “Special” favourite folders could be “Latest Blog Post from Favourite Friends” or “Latest post in Favourtie Groups” and they would always contain the latest posts (obviously).
Is there any interest in this sort of thing, or am I alone in this? Any additional ideas?
Topic: login problems
Does someone have a smilar problem like the following one?
I installed buddypress on a dedicated server and the testsite runs so far okay. But when trying to log in my account whith firefox 3.06 on a mac system I have to wait about 4 minutes to finally log in. The same occurs with the flock browser. Once I have logged in with the firefox browser I can login and logout within the regular speed.
But this does not apply with the safari browser or using firefox on a windows machine…!?
