I created a little documentation on installing BP through subversion (SVN) including a little guide on creating symbolic links to your SVN folder so you don’t have to copy around files after you “svn update”. Was wondering if a “tester” or 2 could try this out on a test install to make sure it works for others.

I also tried the plug-in on a clean WPMU install without BuddyPress. And some of the same issues happened there too.

Nicola, do you still have any interest in adapting this plug-in to work with WPMU? I don’t know how much time it would take, but I think this would be a HUGE feature for BP. The “Invite Friends” feature is slick. (That’s one thing that does work.)

Surely someone has an answer to this question? How are WPMU users linking author or member links in posts from their non-buddypress home theme to the profile page in the Buddypress member theme?

re-installed with most recent version of both WPMU-bleeding edge and BuddyPress and it seemed to fix the issues.

I don’t think it was a BP or WP issue but a server problem.

thanks for that.

im actually looking for something that would automatically calculate birthday on buddypress. if entered birthday is say, 13, the system would say something like, opps, we require at least year 1997.

(by the way, youre site is sooo great.i like the top members. )

The value needs to be translated instead of hard coding after each update !

If it creates a user in WordPress then it will show up in BuddyPress. BuddyPress is using the wp_users table.

Hi,

I have translated my buddypress to Dutch as I could not find a complete Dutch translation. Now I receive the following error when I click on the cctivity of my friends:

Warning: array_slice() expects parameter 1 to be array, null given in /home/cvanderm/public_html/wp-content/mu-plugins/bp-activity/bp-activity-classes.php on line 235

It also says that my friends haven’t done anything yet so I assume the function is still working. But how do I get rid of this error? I have tried to replace this file with the original bp-activity-classes.php but still receive the same error.

Hi,

I have core, groups, blogs and profile installed.

It shouldn’t be too difficult to add the code to display recent posts by group members, but i wondered if buddypress already provided that option somewhere.

Hey,

I realized that being a ‘friend’ affords you no extra privileges so I have simply remove the friends module, and then applied the fix to stop non-logged in people from access: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=160

Yes “jbzz”, the ability to create events, invite people, rsvp, and send messages to attendees would be really great. Really nice fonctions for buddypress groups. I will use them as soon as they are available, for sure!!

Defiantly,

I have already skinned up a members theme, home theme and a host of blog themes for my users.

Its not hard at all, infact just like normal wordpress themes so expect to see a load available soon.

One thing i wish was easier was controlling the page names / urls buddy press assigns as default.

I have manually changed all references but when i upgrade my changes will be reversed
