    @12thharmonic that would work *if and only if* that install is running WPMU 2.7 and bbPress 1.0 alpha 4+ since the forum integration in buddypress needs bbPress 1.0 alpha series and that can only be integrated with WPMU 2.7 (unreleased). Don’t know of anyone that got this working with WPMU 2.6.5, but if they did, I would be interested in finding out.

    Hi !

    is something on air about achieving harmonization between language files from bbpress and wpmu+buddypress ?

    bbpress is only half traduced by his own .mo, all the rest comes over WP mo’s.

    I tried to mix both mo file, but Poedit said: 167 lines duplicated !!!! A bit to much to continue on this path.

    I take a look on functions.bb-l10n.php (bbpress) and l10n.php(BP), witch are very similar. Just the calls to each .mo shows really different. I tried to hack some functions but nothing got to work.

    Does somebody already found a solution to this problem ?

    Yes, to all of the above. Blog creation works. All user-side BuddyPress features redirect to the signup page. i.e. click on ‘news’ and you get sent to:

    http://example.com/wpmu/wp-signup.php?new=wpmunews

    Everything under ‘My Account’ and ‘Notifications’ is similarly affected.

    From the Admin Dashboard, things work as expected.

    Well, I’m glad someone else has seen this. I don’t see this though:

    the member-theme selection in the buddy press options(sitewide admin) shows themes from my themese directory(the buddypresshome and other standard wpmu themes) instead of showing the buddypress-members theme.

    It’s got to be something in the theme though because I’m running another install using trunk for everything except the themes and it’s running fine.

    Hello,

    i have installed Buddypress the bbPress Forum. Both are the latests builds. If i write in bbPress direct, i can use öäüß and the forum shows them. The look also ok in buddypress.

    If i writhe öäüß into an Buddypress Group forum, i get somthing like that ߠքܼ/p>. In bbPres it looks like that aus /amp/auml;/amp/ouml;/amp/uuml;/amp/szlig; /amp/Ouml;/amp/Auml;/amp/Uuml;

    In both configs WPMU und bbPress is utf8 defined

    Any hint how to solve the problem? It seems to be a problem of the filtering funktion in the buddypress forum plugin.

    Everything is fresh from SVN trunk about two hours ago. No plugins, no themes, new DB. I tested WPMU with a new blog and edited a post, then installed the BP plugins and themes. It’s as if WPMU doesn’t recognise it’s there.

    For example:

    http://example.com/wpmu shows the BuddyPress Home page

    http://example.com/wpmu/testblog shows the initial test blog

    http://example.com/wpmu/members

    http://example.com/wpmu/news

    http://example.com/wpmu/groups – WPMU is treating these like normal and when not finding anything at the URL, is re-directing to wp-signup.php

    i.e. http://example.com/wpmu/wp-signup.php?new=wpmunews

    Clear forums cache when replying to a post.

    Took a quick look and it seems that the cache is serving up a topic and it’s replies. The cache isn’t being updated when a reply is created. It serves up the topic and all it’s replies until it gets stale. Then it goes and gets fresh stuff.

    I’ll take a look around at the other caching activity down in there too.

    Speaking of caches. We got the same problem here. Post a new reply and you get served up the prev page without your new post. wp-super-cache? It doesn’t happen all the time. Just most of the time. :)

    Oh ya, I don’t think these bugs you’ve listed are very ‘outstanding’ at all Andy. An really interesting bug would be:

    “When I view my profile my washer and dryer quit working”. That would be outstanding!

    It’s as if BuddyPress is not installed and WPMU is finding no blog at the URL so redirecting the user to signup. However, BuddyPress is installed and partially working (the options show up in the Site Admin menu).

    Hello,

    I’ve just installed BuddyPress in a sub-directory i.e. example.org/buddypress/ (not sub-domain). Everything seems OK with the blogs, but I’m finding that the members and groups pages are being redirected to the blog sign-up page /wp-signup.php?new=blahblah

    Does BuddyPress run in a sub-directory? I’ve had it working on a sub-domain before without a hitch.

    I’ve had several instances of Buddypress in testing for months, and currently have the latest versions of WPMU and Buddypress on a test server. It seems to me there is a disconnect within Buddypress/WPMU when it comes to the handling of avatars/gravatars.

    What I know:

    – the wpmu admin can set a default avatar to be used within Buddypress for those who haven’t uploaded a personalized avatar or are without a gravatar. This is fine, and seems to work without an issue on my test servers (although the avatar does not seem to follow the user for blogs).

    – if you don’t have a gravatar and attempt to upload a personalized avatar, it ususally screws up and you’re left with either a black image, or no image, or some variation of the crop feature not working. Despite my best efforts and many others in the forum, the avatar upload/crop feature is still buggy and I’ve yet to get it to work consistently.

    – i’ve found that users with gravatars experience no problems at all.

    Since Automattic now owns Gravatar.com, would it not make sense to remove the ‘upload avatar’ function in the Buddypress profile entirely (it is prone to issues given different hosting environments, installed software base, etc.) and figure out a way to make signing up for a Gravatar simple right within Buddypress?

    I am aware of a plugin (Easy Gravatars) that in theory at least enabled a blog owner to sign up for a Gravatar without leaving the site. While this plugin does not seem to be updated and/or currently working, I think it provides a great opportunity to fix this annoying issue once and for all.

    If I’m off base please chime in and set me straight.

    I created a little documentation on installing BP through subversion (SVN) including a little guide on creating symbolic links to your SVN folder so you don’t have to copy around files after you “svn update”. Was wondering if a “tester” or 2 could try this out on a test install to make sure it works for others.

    I also tried the plug-in on a clean WPMU install without BuddyPress. And some of the same issues happened there too.

    Nicola, do you still have any interest in adapting this plug-in to work with WPMU? I don’t know how much time it would take, but I think this would be a HUGE feature for BP. The “Invite Friends” feature is slick. (That’s one thing that does work.)

    Surely someone has an answer to this question? How are WPMU users linking author or member links in posts from their non-buddypress home theme to the profile page in the Buddypress member theme?

    re-installed with most recent version of both WPMU-bleeding edge and BuddyPress and it seemed to fix the issues.

    I don’t think it was a BP or WP issue but a server problem.
