ParticipantOK. The thing is The Northvantage doesn’t provide support for buddypress related issues, that’s why i came here actually.

Participant@epatrick Your last post crossed with mine probably. With these sorts of issues you need to contact the theme authors really.

ParticipantWhat i mean by “They don’t show up correctly, the CSS or the design is degraded.” is that these pages have lost the original theme CSS/design.
See the theme design
http://www.ingetaweb.net/groups/See how it shows up within directory buddypress pages:
http://www.ingetaweb.net/groups/manifestations-evenements/The theme colors have disappeared.

ParticipantAfter a quick look it’s clear this theme is fairly complex and integrates a number of plugins BP being one, so in theory this is a BP compatible theme; for issue therefore with this you really need to direct them to the authors on their support forum:

ParticipantIt’s actually not obvious what your issues are. With this sort of question it’s actually important to briefly describe the issues as well as simply providing links as useful as they are.
They don’t show up correctly, the CSS or the design is degraded.
‘correctly’ can be a matter of opinion as can ‘design degraded’ you need to be technically specific.

ParticipantYour BP version is outdated by four point releases you should be on a minimum version of 1.6.5 – it’s important to keep abreast of releases if only from a security point of view.
If in dev stages I would advise you actually install 1.7 RC1 and make use of theme compatibility it brings to the table and if having gone through the template pack process removing those files.
There are guides in the codex to working with 1.7.

ParticipantBy the looks of things first thing you need to do is go into your account and change your display name that kicks your activity stream into life – I note you have nothing on there at the moment – this may be the cause of issues.

MemberThanks.
Humm, +1 to WP and BP but seen as Android doesn’t fully support it I see no point in making the feature available to users. I’m still hiding the upload feature on mobile devices via CSS media queries

Participant@mercime,@Hugo,@bphelp,&@chouf1,
I was able to achieve the desired result by slightly modifying the code suggested by Mercime.
here is what UI have done .
Instead of “pad-registration” I added =”padder one-column” in my register.phpIn my style .css ,I added div.padder one-column { padding: 19px; }
All modifications have been done only in my child theme folder only.
Is this method advisable?
Instead of commenting the line:218 (1.6.5) at the end of the file // get_sidebar( ‘buddypress’ ); in child-theme/registration/register.php, Can I remove the same? Will it cause any issue?

ModeratorWorks with ios 6 and up and Android has some support. You need WP 3.5 and BP 1.6 +

Participantstatus updates (notices) are stored in the bp-activities table.
I don’t know how you can really move them from a group to another, tables relations are a bit complex.
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/what-are-mptt_right-and-mptt_left-in-bp_activity-table/
You have t ostudie the activites table structure and inspire you from the 2 two plugins who helped you to migrate somehow.
Nothing better to say at the moment.

Participant@pdillon809 those files should be placed in a folder named buddypress inside your child theme and remember to keep the directory and sub-directories structures intact. Those files should not be placed at the root of your child theme.

ParticipantCouldn’t write that page much plainer really, it was intended as a simple primer.
No files are required in the child theme if you are letting bp theme compatibility handle the BP template process, if you wanted to edit just one you would copy it to /buddypress/ preserving the structure that’s seen in the legacy templates folder if you wanted to edit the styles that can be done by copying the styles to /css/ in your theme.
You sound as though you have a mixed bag of theme compatibility and full template file overrides going on or template pack still at work, something confused somewhere.

ParticipantI agree with @bphelp – child themes are the best option. I’ve been using child themes to make changes to main themes but I’m not yet able to understand how to achieve this with BuddyPress. I have read @hnla ‘s document but the instructions are not clear (at least to me).
I think the issue is lack of a header file but that’s not mentioned in the guide. The pages load but without ANY styles. The registration page has a header but not activity. Activity page begins with div id=”buddypress” and has no footer either. I’m sure this is easy to fix but I want to use the recommended method.
Is there a document that clearly states the files required in the child theme? I have copied ALL the files from the legacy folder but @hnla ‘s document appears to state that only the files that require editing need copying (so long as the directory structure is maintained)
Sorry for not “getting” this – I’ve tried doing the research but it’s never clear whether the instructions relate to 1.7 or the “quite” different previous versions.
A list of the contents of the child-theme folder are listed below:
activity (taken from ../bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/)
blogs (taken from ../bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/)
css (taken from ../bp-templates/bp-legacy)
forums (taken from ../bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/)
functions.php (contains a couple of functions – created by me and not bp related)
groups (taken from ../bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/)
members (taken from ../bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/)
registration (taken from ../bp-themes/bp-default)
rtl.css (empty of rules)
shortcodes_bp.php (couple of shortcodes – created by me and not bp related)
style.css (child theme required file)April 5, 2013 at 8:46 pm #160010In reply to: Translation Problem file

Participant@chouf1 I’m sorry, I totally understand what you mean. Sometimes I’m in such a hurry that I forget to explain everything properly and clear :P.
Anyway the plugin I use is CodeStyling Localization.
Like I said, I also tried to edit the po file of wordpress and buddypress with notepad++ and when I update the old file in the ftp nothing changes unfortunately.
