Participanthi @sonic1243,
you have to add get_sidebar in to your custom activity template.
See in one of the bp-default files how it looks alike. (archives.php for example)
January 20, 2013 at 6:08 pm #151221In reply to: Add list of Group Forums in Group Forum template
danbpfr
Participanthi @lrv,
Now at the Group Forum page listed only topics from all Groups
for sure it’s default behaviour !
But below each topic title, aside author’s name, you have also the group forum name.
And if this is not enought, you also have the built-in Group widget who list all the existing public groups. And if they have forums, it’s also (indirectly) a forum list. And this widget is showing on all pages not only on the group forum template.January 20, 2013 at 4:30 pm #151216In reply to: Embedding images via url/link

ParticipantWhat I was really hoping is that there is a plug-in available, which would allow me to better manage my BuddyPress users. For example, I would like to be able to view and sort on all of the fields in my registration form, including the custom fields that I have added to the form. In addition, it would be nice if the plug-in allowed me to download the information to CSV or some other easily usable format.
sounds like no one has created such a plug-in as of yet…
January 20, 2013 at 2:23 pm #151208In reply to: Downloading all site member profile info?
danbpfr
Participanthi @jakewho,
if your goal is to collect serialized informations about your members, you have to create your own data mining solution i guess. π
profile informations are stored in 4 different tables: wp _bp_xprofile_data, fields, group, meta
So if you are confortable with msql queries and php, you can recreate your own custom BP Profile Component.
If no one answered to you, it’s probably because nobody want to reinvent the whell.

Participant@mercime Thanks for the mention! Just wanted to drop a note in here that the BP-WP Profile Reviews plugin you mentioned has been updated. Many issues were handled in this release. I do keep an eye on the forums and a great way to get a hold of me is email. Thanks again!

ParticipantOK, I’m sure that BuddyPress has a big issue! When you have a group and allowed the group forum, so everything runs well, until the group forums to disable and then enable it.
Appears this error (see below) and group forum topic “falls” into the sitewide forum as private. When clicked on it, takes you back to a group forum topic with the same error!! BuddyPress is mad and my project is stopped and I’m screwed. I am sorry,Β I have a lot of work the last few days, and all work is useless.

ParticipantSo with 1.7, does that mean buddypress will be down to sitewide forums and bbpress plugin instead of three choices?
January 20, 2013 at 4:05 am #151187intimez
ParticipantI believe it allows anyone to browse any group without joining but after their first post, they will auto join the group. Seems to work that way with the latest version for both wordpress + buddypress.

Participant<cite>does my text need single quotes?</cite>no ! The text is outside the php part.
But you have to modify the quotes to single quotes when you copy/paste from here. Simply see how other code is written in the file.
If your site went blankΒ it’s because you leave a empty line at the end of the functions.php probably.
If you paste my code at the end of the file, } must be the last line of it.
FYI functions.php doesn’t close with ?> as usual php files.
You must also use a text editor as notepad (and save as text – ANSI without BOM) or better notepad++ to edit php files, but never Word or something like this. Or at least the WP file editor….

@mercime
Participant@diondeville You’re welcome π
@tarkham can’t quite get what you mean.
>> bbPress slug = sitewide forums = discussions right? So example.com/discussions
>> So if you kept the slug of group forums = forums, then example.com/forums
Why would you redirect the URL of either to another?January 20, 2013 at 1:15 am #151173In reply to: Text under comment box on BuddyPress Default theme

Participant@chouf1 and @mercime, thanks for your replies, but I think I need more specific instructions. In both cases I put the code at the bottom of the functions.php file and in both cases my site went totally blank. Where/how do I add the filter.
@chouf1, does my text need single quotes?
Thanks so much for your patience.

To expand the whitelist, you can do it. Read here how:

BlockedI don’t understand the difference between users and members. We have thousands of spam users and it’s not possible to mark them as spam either when we delete them. It feels like they have a negative effect on our site, but maybe I can just leave them there?

Participantas of bp-groups-loader.php:147 you can use from within bp-custom.php
`
define(``'BP_DISABLE_AUTO_GROUP_JOIN'``,true);`Read also here: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/turn-off-auto-join-groups-only-group-members-can-create-new-topics-or-reply/

ParticipantThank you @modemlooper,
the code is ok, but it will work only on the first field group.
It would be better to have this “information” on a custom field group.January 19, 2013 at 10:11 pm #151157In reply to: Extended Profiles Help

Participantoh i figured she was just talking about as an update. That code you have there is pretty cool @modemlooper would that work with any oEmbed or just youtube? you know me and code but it looks like it would work with any oEmbed. Also is that something which would be placed inside bp-custom? BTW i like your site design.

How would I go about adding that site for example?
