I found the Recorder Tabs plugin. This definitely helps with the order of tabs in the profile page but I still don’t know how to remove the unwanted tabs. I just want to remove them from this bar and not other menus.
This is the order of my nav bar
Media – Articles – Docs – Activity – Profile – Friends – Group – Forums
I want the Activity – Profile – Friends – Groups – Forums to disappear but still be in the drop-down menu.
Can anyone help me ???
ask this on the bbPress forum
For bbPress issues, please use their support forums.
Hi,
I have all themes and plugins updated. I’m using WMPLMS and on the forum, I can see the reply, divided, delete, etc. buttons but I’m not able to click on them.

Hello,
I would need some Help with my Website. I have installed Buddypress and Bbpress to create a cool forum, however when I tried to upload a Profilpicture I cannot crop it, it appears as a little point on the side. I can only save it and the picture appears croped as Profil picture, but not like I wanted to have it.
I am using the Theme : Dyad 2
Can someone help me? that would be great!
My Website: https://aybidahlson.com
OK,
I don’t want bbpress forum replies to show up on Buddypress activity stream. I have researched this problem for days and cannot find a solution. I have tried 3 different plugins and they do not work anymore. I have come across this question multiple times but no one seems to give a clear answer. This question has gone back a least 9 years. I find it hard that Buddypress or bbpress has not found a solution to this problem. Please help!!!
@kingfisher64 Not sure if that plugin has integration with BuddyPress. Since that is a paid plugin, you should be able to ask at the plugin’s forums whether it is compatible with BuddyPres. If so, how to go about the integration with BP registration. Good luck!
@cmsplay Glad it worked out for you 😀
Re font size smaller, just add the following just under themargin-bottom: 24px; :
font-size: 12px; // or whatever size you want
In general, the key difference is the focused discussion and engagement found using Group Forums with the bbPress forums. Just like you see here in our support forums. The good thing is that bbPress plugin has the same lead developer and you can be assured of the seamless integration between BuddyPress and bbPress.
BuddyPress Sitewide/Group Activity streams are automatically generated content on all actions happening sitewide/group like a new member joining the group, member status updates, new forum topics (if bbPress is activated) etc. See https://codex.buddypress.org/administrator-guide/activity-streams/ So while you can , favorite, delete, or comment on each generated activity update, you can see it’s miles different from having a forum in your site.
I hope that helps you and good luck on your BuddyPress community!
Hi, I have BP and forums installed on the website https://www.dewereldwijven.com/ All is in the root, because we want to be able to show parts of stories wich are available behind a login. We use Paid Membership Pro with Woo for this.
We have not released it yet, because we need to do some other things first.
My question is that since we have BP with Forums installed the normal search is not working anymore. When I put in a search function it wil always go the the Forumpage without searching the word or words we put in …..
Does anybody have a solution for this? A snippet or a plugin which can help solve this?
thanks,
Akiram
Ok, I’ve found out: BuddyPress is not a forum – my mistake, I’m sorry.
Additional I’ve found out, there is something wrong in my wp_options table, which does not show the content of the BuddyPress pages to me.
So right now, for me is my problem solved. Thank you for your help!
I already mapped the pages in the mentioned settings.
Do I really need to install bbPress for a forum? I thought BP would be a forum too. Am I wrong?
@sandaap
Try to map your pages with setting >> BuddyPress >> Pages
For topics and forums install bbPress.
Hi there Mercime.
My site is more than six months old. So it is not new. My theme is the same age. I have not imported any forums.
Please try to supply answers to the following questions.
Wordpress Version – 5.4.1
Buddypress Version – 5.1.2
bbPress Version – 2.6.4
Host – Wordplus
I dont know how long the problem has been there as I never noticed it.
As mentioned above I can give access to a staging site for you to see. Even if anyone knows how to hide the duplicates I would be grateful.
Thank you
@shonty Is this a new installation or is this an old install where you changed from another theme or imported forums from e.g. phpbb to bbPress, etc.?
Just like shanebp, I cannot replicate the issue as well.
Do provide more info about your installation – https://buddypress.org/support/topic/when-asking-for-support-2/
Hi @cmsplay,
You can change the bottom margin of the paragraphs by adding the following style in your theme/child theme:
.activity-list .activity-item .activity-content p {
margin-bottom: 24px; /* Or whatever size you want */
}
As for the forums, bbPress is compatible with BuddyPress. See https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/
You have a WP issue, not a BP issue.
You will have better results asking here:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Or ask whoever coded your website login page.
BP has Groups which could be used for competition – each group could be a competition that has its own forum.
For Teams you will need to write custom code.
Many’s the time users post a message on BP Groups Activity, but then want to edit their post after they’ve posted it, to correct typos etc.
Is there a way I can add ‘Edit’ functionality to BP Groups’ Activity posts after they’ve been posted, and perhaps before they’ve been replied to?
I notice that the forum here at Buddy Press Support, has that functionality
Thanks for any suggestions.
You can find some answers here:
update group activities just for admins
Keep in mind you’re using Youzer which is overriding a lot of the standard buddypress plugin’s templates, so you’d probably be better off asking in the Youzer forum.
Hello,
In the BP core members widget, there is a reference to the latest activity of a user. The function to retrieve this, is using ‘bp_core_current_time’, which is using ‘current_time’.
In this function, the ‘gmt’ value is set to ‘true’. But in our case, it should be set to ‘false’ so the right time is used (we are not in the UTC timezone).
How can we achieve this?
I’ve tried using: http://hookr.io/filters/bp_core_current_time/
But with no luck.
I’ve seen this problem on the forum and on the internet quite a lot, but there wasn’t a clear answer that I could use. Hopefully you can help me out.
Thanks in advance!

Hi, all. I have a theme that I use and would like to keep the profile on the theme. I also installed buddy press for my forum on the same site, and if you view someone profile on the forum it shows their buddy press profile.
Is there anyway to keep both profiles (theme and buddy press) separate from each other? Thanks
Only groups are created in BuddyPress. Blogs are created in WP. Forums are created in bbPress.
The bbPress forums are here.
These are the forums for BuddyPress. The bbPress forums are here.
I was browsing dogsuniverse.com and see they have links for forums, groups and blogs. How are these created in BuddyPress?
Thanks.
