ParticipantShould integration with an established bbpress install be OK?
One that’s been going a while?
Cheers

ParticipantI’ll take https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/224
Clear forums cache when replying to a post.
Took a quick look and it seems that the cache is serving up a topic and it’s replies. The cache isn’t being updated when a reply is created. It serves up the topic and all it’s replies until it gets stale. Then it goes and gets fresh stuff.
I’ll take a look around at the other caching activity down in there too.
Speaking of caches. We got the same problem here. Post a new reply and you get served up the prev page without your new post. wp-super-cache? It doesn’t happen all the time. Just most of the time.

Oh ya, I don’t think these bugs you’ve listed are very ‘outstanding’ at all Andy. An really interesting bug would be:
“When I view my profile my washer and dryer quit working”. That would be outstanding!

MemberThe Facebook Connect plug-in works beautifully on regular WP, but not WPMU. I’ve heard on other forums that there are just a couple of bugs keeping it from working with MU, so it might be very easy to implement…for someone who knows how. (I don’t.)

MemberThis may have been discussed elsewhere in the forum, I apologize in advance if it was.
Plugin: Auto Delete Messages/Inactive Blogs after X Number of Days.
I’m sure messages take up space in the database – why not delete when after X number of days, where X is a number that the admin defines. The same thing could be done with inactive blogs as well. Of course it would automatically send a warning out to the user warning them that an update is recommended or the blog will be deleted.

MemberI read someone’s forum post elsewhere saying that the plug in should theoretically work with WPMU, however, for some reason something isn’t being created properly in the wp_users table or something like that. The user reported running the mySQL directly in phpMyAdmin, and saying that this fixed the problem. But I don’t know how to do that.
I’m just offering this in hopes that it helps someone (smarter than me) to help this plug-in work in WPMU.
Thanks,
Mark

ParticipantLet me add that you need the list item code as well, so something like this:
<?php
function add_forum_link() {
echo '<li><a href="' . site_url('forum') . '">Forums</a></li>';
}
add_action( 'bp_nav_items', 'add_forum_link' );
?>Trent

ParticipantHey,
I realized that being a ‘friend’ affords you no extra privileges so I have simply remove the friends module, and then applied the fix to stop non-logged in people from access: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=160

KeymasterThe forum line was removed because it was not implemented, it may reappear if theme support for a global forum is added.
You can easily add this back into a plugin:
function add_forum_link() {
echo '<a href="' . site_url('forums') . '">Forums</a>';
}
add_action( 'bp_nav_items', 'add_forum_link' );I’ll investigate the settings not showing, the changes made should not affect that.

Thanks

ParticipantBest look in the WPMU forums for things (plugins) to help. Off the top of my head, some of the better ones are WP-Hashcash, Signup Question and Admin confirm new blogs. Hashcash is available at https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins and the others are at http://wpmudev.org/plugins/
Loads of good ideas though in the WPMU forums and that is the best place to start looking.

ParticipantLooks like erichamby went with simple forums.
I am having a similar problem, one that I have had from the beginning.
groups search-works-check
blogs search -works-check
member search-works-No members matched the current filter.
I have had this problem for 1 month, but kept silent hoping a new trac would fix it. Not to be. Does anyone know what might be causing this issue? And do you know what table in MySQL is called for this data?
Thanks…

MemberCan you clarify…does this plug-in work with BuddyPress/WPMU? The installation instructions seem to be for WordPress in general, not MU. And I saw in another forum that this plug-in breaks WPMU.
Can you verify that it works with BuddyPress? If so, can you provide installation instructions?
Thanks.

ParticipantAFAK aka AFAIK usually means “as far as I know”. Forums are already in the 1.0 release, but none of the original posters other points. They area actually all being addressed by plugins with the exception of internal photo galleries which are coming after the 1.0 release. There is flickr plugin on buddypressdev.org though as well as Youtube. The invite system is there, but not finished yet.
