    Hi,
I’m using BuddyPress with the extendes profiles.
When a visitor tries to register, it may fail from time to time. After the submit, however, there is no error, but he lands directly back on the registration form – without error or anything else. But then the email address is already taken.

The question is what can be the reason that he lands again on the form after the submit and where is the email stored in the database if the registration is not completed/successful?

in wp_users I do not see anything about it

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,

I’m using the default BP registration page and have to use the legacy themes for various reasons. But I’m having a horrible time customizing the form!

One thing I’d like to do is apply a page background. I’ve tried using .page-id-####. I’ve tried using my Generate Press theme to apply a page layout. But it seems as though I can’t apply anything to this page other than some changes via css to the form itself (and that’s been difficult).

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I have a multisite install with bp on 1 site. I followed the docs on adding the site-id in wp-options. Everything works but when I went to edit the registration page to add a new field at sign up the profile fields does not show up. I cloned my site to a non multisite install and the field shows up. I checked the capabilities and I need manage_ooptions with both network admin and site admin. Any other suggestions?

    Hello guys.

I need to create a social network on BuddyPress and I have some questions.
I hope you can help me.

1 – In BuddyPress do we configure a database when we start in WordPress?
If so, do I do this directly with the platform where I host my site or with WordPress?

2 – In BuddyPress can I put that ‘social access’, that is, the person uses a Facebook or Google login that they already have?

3 – I came to see that we were able to customize the person’s registration on BuddyPress. This information goes straight to the database, right?

4 – I saw that it is possible to create groups, my question is if there is a possibility of being private groups.

5 – With the registration information, is it possible to do email marketing and invite others by email and by cell phone?

Thank you all for your cooperation and I look forward to your responses.

Our web site is at https://www.gleanr.com.au/. Its a member site and we use Ultimate member plugin into Buddypress member area and its a WordPress site. We are having issues with people registering into the site with what appear to be bogus email addresses. We have an email activation process that follows new member registration. We use the google recaptcha tool which sometimes has the choice from images in boxes come up and at other times is only a tick box (I am not a robot). Its very random and seems out of our control.
It seems that some people registering with bogus email addresses can activate their account (which is weird) and they have been creating spam groups in our member area. So in summary, my questions are:

    1. Are there any plugins or obvious processes we are missing to stop the bogus registrations
    2. Are there plugins or processes that can prevent bogus groups being created and at the very least provide an easy pathway for the site administrator to be involved in group approval process and/or be alerted whenever a new group is created.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

I have a plugin that I need to use called Pie Register which I use to issue one-time codes to visitors… This is essential to our operations. However, I have noticed that the registration page WILL NOT work if buddypress is active. I therefore need to disable EVERYTHING related to registration on the buddypress plugin (as I don’t need this functionality – it’s not a public site and only users I create should have access anyway). Is there an easy way to do this?

Hey, do you know if it is possible to synchronize Memberpress custom registration fields of specific membership with BuddyPress custom profile fields?

For example, a Memberpress Business Name registration field is only available for a Business Membership with a Business Name BuddyPress field.

    Hello
I have a serious problem so please help me ㅠㅠ

When I register as a member on my site, my friends living in Japan do not seem to receive the activity activation email.

I live in Korea now and I get an email.

I tried it with a few friends living in Japan, but none of them received an email.

Similarly, I and other friends who live in Korea can log in to SNS.
Friends living in Japan will not have a new account created.

    Is registration restricted by country?

I am trying to use the [bbp-register] shortcode on a page but it just shows the shortcode, not the registration form.

    1. I have the latest version of BuddyPress and BuddyPress Docs installed and activated.
    2. I have tried using several other themes, including twenty twenty-two.
    3. I have tried loading in an incognito window.
    4. Same problem happens with other bbp shortcodes, like the login shortcode.
    5. I’ve tried deactivating all other plugins except BuddyPress.

Anyone know why the shortcodes aren’t working for me?

A litespeed style sheet is not being loaded because it is loaded from http – instead of https.
You can see the error by opening your browser’s inspection tool and then the console.
    This is the error:
Mixed Content: The page at 'https://www.moviemakingbay.com/mmtb/new-registration-page/' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure stylesheet 'http://www.moviemakingbay.com/mmtb/wp-content/litespeed/css/5810e95e71643d10ac36591f4668ddc7.css?ver=1a34c'. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

Your issue is not related to BuddyPress.

This release caused my registration page to break menu, and I can’t fix it. For some reason it only happens on the registration page. The menu breaks and lists as a list before the registration page and looks extremely bad and makes people not register. PLEASE HELP> https://www.moviemakingbay.com/mmtb/new-registration-page/

    Hello

In a project already in production (with an exclusively private access and about 100 existing members), I want to add a discussion space, and BuddyPress seemed to me to be the ideal solution.

However, I would like to :
    – keep the native WordPress registration form (already modified)
    – automatically attach users to BuddyPress (when I install BuddyPress, I don’t see them in the members!)

I already use (among other things) the “Members” extension in WordPress.

    Thanks

    Hello everyone,

I’m trying to build the frontend part for my blog and use WP and BP as headless CMS through their API. But I can’t get the registration to work as I expect. What I would like is to

    • Have a registration form for new users to sign up.
    • Once they’re registered and after account activation, they appear in member list so that other users can make friendship request to them.
    • When they’re registered and after account activation they can log in (with JWT) and then display the memeber list to make friendship request.

What I’ve done, what’s not working

    • When I try to make a “create member request” via POST /buddypress/v1/members -> I get an error “rest_cannot_create_user” because I don’t have rights to create new members.
    • When I try to make a “signup request” via POST /buddypress/v1/signup, it registration seems to works (a user is added in WP) but he’s not visible in member list via GET /buddypress/v1/members.
    • After account activation, the user is still not present in the member list
    • After the user has logged in via JWT (POST /jwt-auth/v1/token), he can access to member list but he is still not present in the member list.
    • The only way I found to make the user appears in the member list is to log in with the user credentials on the wp-admin interface.

How can I solve this, i.e. how can I make a new user visible in the member list without having him to log in through the wp-admin page ?

And this may be related but what is the difference between “user signups” and “member creation” ?

    Thanks,
    David

    Hello,
i have big Challenge and i want to know, if it’s possible.

I need a Solution to create Company Profiles with Fields about the Adress, ZipCode, City etc… This Company can create a user (employee).
This User can invite another User(employee) to this Company.
If he do that, the Company profile Fields must be Synced with the Employee Profile Field Data.
The Employee Fild Data about the Company must be the Same as tthe Company.

    My Acutally Setup:
    User Creation: BuddyPress
    Company Profiles: With BuddyPress Groups
To create a Group (Company) and a User Registration i use Buddyforms.
Buddyforms Create a new Post in a Custom Post Type with the Company Information an attach this Post to the Group.

Maybe is it possible, all BP Group Members will be synced with this custom fields?

Or maybe i need another Solution?

Disallow specific characters in registration login

I would like to know how to prohibit specific characters of the @ type in the registration login and also to know if it is possible to put a minimum and maximum of characters on the description.
