@mercime
Participant== BuddyPress breaks the responsive layout of the theme on its pages. ==
To clarify, you’re using the WordPress responsive version as seen here -> http://themble.com/bones/#bones-showcase and https://github.com/eddiemachado/bones
After activating the BP Template Pack plugin, you still go through Step 3 of the Appearance > BP Compatibility process to surround the BP template files with HTML structure of Bones. Scanning Bones’ pages.php, you’d need to change 16 BuddyPress template files in your bone’s theme folder in server.

ParticipantIf you’re using the BP Default theme, you won’t see a link to “create a new account” if Registration is turned off.
@i25sa looks like you have more urgent issues than registration, see http://socialtimes.angloway.com/members/ Did you go through the Installation Wizard after you activated BuddyPress?

Perhaps in your theme’s functions.php, hooked in the after_setup_theme action.

ParticipantI did NOT install the theme nor the phpfreechat. We paid a developer to do this. However, he has been very unresponsive at our request to get him fix this problem.

ModeratorTo be honest my first thought is some scripting clash with the behaviour you are suggesting. However, that’s hard to guess – is a link to your site possible? I would probably suggest you try with the plugin deactivated and maybe the default theme and the plugin. It could be your theme also – it’s hard to gauge.
Would you be able to tell us more about what theme / chat plugin you are using?

Participant@mercime Just to update, I have found that the issue with the ‘Tasks’ and ‘Projects’ view under ‘My Account/To Do’ is seen when using the Buddypress default theme as well as my child theme, so it would seem that this issue isn’t related to the CSS that I have used to move the sidebar to the left. Thanks again for your help with this.

MemberI disabled the Suffusion Buddypress plugin (but kept those template files in my child theme) and switched to the Buddypress Template Pack for loading the Buddypress javascript and everything works fine now.

ModeratorWordPress comes with jQuery rolled in so therefore does BuddyPress. You can see how to safely add scripts here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wp_enqueue_script
If the avatar cropping isn’t working though the first step would be to check and see if there are any plugin conflicts. Deactivate all plugins then if that doesn’t work set the theme to default to test. A link maybe to your site if that is possible could help track down something should the above not work.

Participant@mercime Thanks, will do. The username for viewing the screenshot is ‘guest’ and the password is ‘stackoverflow’
June 18, 2012 at 6:01 pm #136023@mercime
ParticipantThat screenshot requires username and password.
On another note, I see that you’ve posted about similar “Tasks” issues even before the change of sidebar location at https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-bp-gtm-system-strange-things-happening-with-task-list-view-in-wordpress-34?replies=1 so I can also suggest that you post this GTM issue at @slaffik ‘s forums at https://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-gtm-system/forum/

ParticipantIt was not working before putting the captcha, however, I will try the default theme like you suggested and get back
June 18, 2012 at 4:21 pm #136018@mercime
Participant“It’s working when permalink set as default” –> What is “IT”? Your WP installation? BuddyPress REQUIRES pretty permalinks and you have to resolve that first in your localhost. Deactivate BuddyPress and BP plugins then change to Twenty Eleven theme. Go to WP forums which specializes in localhost installations and resolve permalinks before activating BuddyPress https://wordpress.org/support/forum/localhost-installs

ParticipantHave you tried removing captcha plugin to see if registration works then?
If you removed captcha and it still didn’t work, have you changed to bp-default theme to see if issue is corrected?
June 18, 2012 at 4:10 pm #136015nickharambee
ParticipantI spoke a little too soon. This works for every page except the ‘Tasks’ and ‘Projects’ sub menus on the To Do tab for the GTM plugin. On this view the the sidebar disappears and the content appears outside the container as you can see in this screenshot. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Thanks.

Participant== If i tries to change to other, it give error page. So i never tried to change it. ==
Sorry, but BuddyPress REQUIRES “pretty permalinks” and will not work with default permalink. You will need to resolve permalinks first before posting here.
Deactivate BuddyPress and BP plugins then change to WP Twenty Eleven theme. Then go to WP forums which deals specifically with localhost installations https://wordpress.org/support/forum/localhost-installs to resolve your permalink issue. Please provide more specific information about your localhost installation.

Participant@chennareddya you have different issue/s altogether which you have posted in different topics posted by others. Not good. Please stick with the thread you posted where you are being assisted at https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/sign-up-error-page/
@sobuddy, copy over sidebar.php file from buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/ theme to your bp-default child theme folder and remove lines 8 through 59 per https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.5.6/bp-themes/bp-default/sidebar.php

@mercime
ParticipantClearly that is not the default behavior when you click on the Comment link in Activity Stream (check out testbp.org) therefore something else is triggering that behavior. Change to bp-default theme and deactivate plugins except BuddyPress and see if issue is corrected.
June 18, 2012 at 6:25 am #135986@mercime
ParticipantCheck out the RTL stylesheet of bp-default which brings the sidebar to the left https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.5.6/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/css/default-rtl.css

@andersonjn I see members, groups, activity … which BP pages are not loading for you?
I also saw that you need to tweak the styles of your BP pages for the twenty eleven theme. Check out the style modifications done on twenty eleven child theme with BP template pack near middle of this page https://codex.buddypress.org/theme-development/theme-dev-bp-template-pack-walkthrough-twenty-eleven-bp-1-5/3/
