MemberBuddyPress Private Community is in the Fail list here https://codex.buddypress.org/releases/1-5-plugin-compatibility/, however the error listed in this table seems to be for another plugin.
When I install Private Community, it does create a php error, but I found this error is not created by the plugin, but by a BuddyPress bug described here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-buddypress-private-community-when-clicking-on-a-protected-page-i-get-error.
I have made the fixes described for this bug, and Private Community now seems to be working, although I am still testing.

MemberOk, well I installed a new theme on SoClo.org, that solved the problem of the bar going from one side to another, but the features are still not there. Features such as the Avatar Beside the website name is not there. You will have to look for yourself. Again any support would be appreciated.

ParticipantI am looking to do the same thing but no luck in figuring out how.
Each member having their own blog with it’s own theme seems to fragment the community I’m trying to build.
Basically I would like for members to become “contributors” to the main blog. They are the author of that blog post and get credit for it and their profile will show a list of all posts they’ve made. would also like to be able to use some sort of front end posting.

ParticipantYes. This means that Custom Community Theme needs to be upgraded. And the good news is that the theme devs have submitted their updated version compatible with BP 1.5 to the WordPress Theme repo. Probably will be updated after undergoing theme review by end of next week latest.

DoctorDR
MemberI have spent a little time porting this plugin over to BP 1.5, so that it now enables a profile banner image to be uploaded just like a Facebook timeline.
The inject_css function targets the div#item-header container (in the bp-default theme), however there are a couple of functions that are needed to make the user experience smooth and trouble free;
1. add a crop function after image has been uploaded, but before new header is displayed (I’m taking a look at the standard bp-default header customisation to see if we can adapt this), but would welcome any suggestions.
2. the delete function really needs to be javascript enabled with a bit of ajax, in the same way that ‘Delete My Avatar’ functions within ‘Change Avatar’. It doesn’t make sense for a user to select the (delete) radio button and then upload an empty input field.
3. I’ve noticed that the bp_core_add_message is not being cleared after a successful upload – any suggestions on how this can be fixed?
4. ideally for non coders the plugin would need an admin page to customise the ‘inject_css’ parameters to suit the theme. I have mine set as a single image (background:url() no-repeat scroll left top transparent), but some themes might wish to allow the choice of repeating a background image, or even providing for some CSS3 gradient fill code.
So, apart from adding image cropping and a bit of javascript it’s pretty much ready. If anyone is able to offer suggestions on the above fixes, I’ll wrap it up and fork it back onto github.

ModeratorJust so we can be on the same page.. are you using a child theme you created or are you using an already created one? Is it a child theme of the default theme?
Have you made sure in the style.css of the child there is the following:
Template: bp-default
This assumes that the child is the default theme, if not that bp-default should be the name of the parent theme.

ParticipantIf you’re using a custom primary navigation menu, this new plugin will help you with the My Account links – https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-profile-menu/
If your CSS is messed up, make sure the ids and classes are consistent with the other menu items.
No idea about notifications.

I’m really enjoying the theme.
I’ve done a few modification for the mobile theme to make it fit better.the css I modified:
I was wondering if you had a way of adding the My acount and notifications tab to the main menu bar? any ideas how to do that. I manage to do it but then the css style is all fucked up.

MemberI decided to scrap the roots framework and just use the Frisco theme since its already working with 1.5 and is a pretty nice theme as is. Although its a great framework, its easier to customize a working solution rather than create a working solution out of something I customized. I am contemplating creating a Roots based BP theme in the near future though. Is there a list of working 1.5 plugins yet? It seems every plugin I was using is not working… most importantly bp-media which I though was supposed to work well with 1.5. @mercime I promise not to mention you in every post I make here lol. thanks so much for your help.

@mercime
ParticipantSure, there’s bound to be some conflict with two kinds of bbPress forums installed – Group-centric and Sitewide. Could be a bug.
– First thing, are both using the “forums” slug? You’d need to change the slug of either the Group one or the Sitewide one.
– Second, deactivate the sitewide forum by deactivating bbPress 2.0 plugin and change to bp-default theme. See if you can post topic to the correct group forum.October 5, 2011 at 10:58 pm #122532In reply to: Removing Powered by W and B

Participant== i got a message to the tune ” you cannot edit this file” ==
At this time, WP prevents theme editor for BP-default child themes. So you should download bp-default theme’s footer.php to your computer and edit it there. After you edit and save footer.php, upload it to your server via FTP/cpanel, etc. wp-content/themes/name-of-your-child-theme-folder/October 5, 2011 at 10:36 pm #122527In reply to: Broken Link

I was not sure what to put in the Author URI so again just copied the buddypress default Author URI
