Member@mercime Yessir. WP 3.2.1 and BP 1.2.1. I have went through the process and walkthroughs. The were all copied successfully and I now I need to edit the 13 BP templates to match my theme. But BP is still using core templates rather than the templates residing in my theme. The admin bar is working and all links are working just fine.

@mercime
Participant@wendymerritt first thing I do when something is not kosher with install is to change to bp-default theme and deactivate all BP plugins except BuddyPress. Either theme or plugin is interfering with group creation.

MemberNot sure what you mean by which count but when you click on members, it says how many members I have. how do I customize the theme. Do I have to change something in theme files? if so what do I take out and what do I put in?
Thanks for your help!

MemberSeems that JS is messed up on the wordpress admin interface, along with the issues above the editor doesn’t show content and I can’t switch between Visual and HTML view.
I’m using the default buddypress theme and I now have no other plugins active. I also reset the plugins (active_plugins field) in wp-options table and then only turned on buddypress. I have not customised core code.
Was previously running 3.2.1 and 1.2.9. I’ve upload/installed the plugin in various ways to make sure nothing went wrong.
Seems a JS issue to me? As if wordpress required functionality has been overwritten. The buddypress admin bar dropdowns work.
Is anyone else having this issues?
Regards,
Express

KeymasterWhich count, where? Ultimately this is just a matter of you needing to customise the theme to your liking

KeymasterThere’s no end difference between installing and upgrading. Existing child themes should continue to work, as should those guidelines on the codex. It’s possible someone updated the codex incorrectly, or for an earlier beta version where we fiddled with child theme style sheets a bit (and then added more compatibility code in). Feel free to update the instructions; log in to wp-admin on the codex site and find/edit the Page.

MemberAlso… I just wanted to comment that it would be really nice if the documentation for Buddypress is more organized. Currently there is information about 1.5 mixed in with 1.2 and even earlier. Is it that difficult to separate major versions and keep it organized?
I came across an article in the codex talking about enqueued CSS, with lines of complex code including instructions to update a variable when changes are made to bust cache.
I am sitting here waiting for some answers without working any further on this project, thinking to myself WTF does enqueue stylesheet and bust cache mean, I cannot even get comprehensible answers googling them, and hoping that I did not waste numerous hours working on a pre-1.5 project powered by BP.
i do appreciate all the hard work put into BP, but just because it is open source doesn’t mean there is no need for any logic behind it. Obviously there is no expectation for serious projects to use it out-of-the-box with the default theme and default components, so in my opinion, it is essential to explain to your users what the next version means and what needs to done for a smooth transition. Instead of publishing several articles about an unreleased version, perhaps it would have been wiser to have done that instead. If I had the knowledge, I would have gladly offered that.
I really hope I don’t move to another platform as I love WP and really liked BP’s usability when doing my research.

KeymasterThe current stable version of the template pack has not been verified as compatible with BP 1.5. You can get the dev version from https://github.com/boonebgorges/bp-template-pack

ParticipantPersonal activity streams don’t seem to be working either if you are using the template pack.
PS: The personal activity streams on buddypress.org doesn’t seem to be working anymore either and all the old activity is completely wiped out.

ParticipantFor anyone looking, use the most recent github version of bp-template-pack for getting your theme BP 1.5 compatible – https://github.com/boonebgorges/bp-template-pack. Be wary of jquery conflicts and note that you may need to use the old method of editing 13 files instead of the more graceful method mentioned in the instructions.
