@r-a-y nope removing the leading lash results in the same single render issue. The STYLESHEETPATH seem to be the way to do it for now and this does seem to be a WordPress issue with locate_template() so I’ll take that up over in their neck of the woods. Thx for the help, I was banging my head for over an hour.
You can try setting the memory limit via wp-config.php first:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
If that doesn’t work, then do what techguy says.
My site has taken quite a battering over the last week or so, such that the volume of spam registrations I am receiving is causing my web server to crash.
I’ve been doing some digging regarding the spammers and found that more than one of them is using “Link Farm Evolution”, I don’t to post the URL here but if you Google you shall find!
Surely there is something illegal about this product? Is there anything WordPress or Automattic can do about this?
Your problem with locate_template could be your leading slash.
Try without and see what happens:
locate_template( array( 'library/components/buddypress/buddypress-postloop.php'), true)
locate_template() is a WordPress function, so any bug with it would be a WordPress issue.
Guys,
I have seen a lot of problems with uploading avatars. Actually I have a problem with it too.
I’m using wordpress 3.0, BP 1.2.5.2, and you can see it working here http://www.avesso.com.br/social
Avatars are uploading correctly but they aren`t showing at the pages.
I try to follow a tip that I found here about create a bp-custom.php and it does not work.
The diretories permissions are 777.
Can anyone help me?
The issue at GoDaddy shared hosting is that only so much memory is allocated to WordPress or WP/BP. On shared hosting, you aren’t going to get the performance you would on dedicated for VPS. I experienced incredibly slow load times with just WP, never mind BP on GoDaddy. I would move to a WordPress friendly host, like MediaTemple, who’s Grid Service offers up to 100 MB of php memory. You’ll need more php memory than 1and1 or GoDaddy offers in their shared packages to run BuddyPress. I’m already crapping out with Memory errors on 1and1, who won’t allot more php memory on a shared account. I’m assuming the same for GoDaddy. I’ve now moved 5 clients off GoDaddy with WordPress sites due to slow load times. They claim you should use WP-SuperCache to serve cached pages, but even then, the first time any user loads a cached page, it takes 3 to 5 seconds. From page to page to page, you’re crawling. I may be incorrect in saying that every user would experience that issue, but it could be accurate too.
Hi James,
Just set your front page as “Your latest posts”:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Settings_Reading_SubPanel
See if that works for you.
Do you have WordPress Single-User or Multi-User installed?

Hi, I see other posts about this but none specifically for my problem. Any help is appreciated. We’ve created a custom wordpress theme that has now been applied to the buddypress section of the site. The problem is that the right column side bar with the log in, activity, members, and groups is missing. How do I get those integrated into the site and which files do I need to work on? Please let me know if you need a link or a screenshot. Thanks in advance.
So As my problem about blog disappearing I read somewhere here that in WP 3.0 we should create a network for the blog to appear. and yes it did. but one problem I face. The base wordpress which my blog prior to installing the buddypress become one of the blogs of buddypress. I mean it was added to the blog directory of Buddypress i installed.
How can I remove my base wordpress installed into the blog directory?
Hi modemlooper, I tried what you said. Actually in my theme it was exactly like you stated. However, after editing in wordpress theme editor, nothing changes…. what can be the problem?
I have a WordPress 3.0 multisite buddrypress 1.2.5 site running and I need to move it to a new URL. I can just backup and copy all the files over but I am concerned that I also need to change some of the settings so that blogs etc are changed to have the new URL – What files do I need to change the new URL in?
this is all that shows in the forum set up
bbPress forum integration in BuddyPress has been set up correctly. If you are having problems you can re-install
NOTE: The forums directory will only work if your bbPress tables are in the same database as your WordPress tables. If you are not using an existing bbPress install you can ignore this message.
cant find groups set up anywhere
please help

According to my plugins page and the buddypress readme file, I am using 1.2.5. I guess I can download again – strange that I ended up with different code. However, buddypress was working fine for a couple of weeks. Then after no code changes to anything in wordpress or buddypress, this error popped up.
This currently isn’t possible.
Such a feature has been mentioned before and is on a list of requested features, so hopefully something will materialize in the next few months.
I am pretty new to WordPress and BuddyPress so please bear with me. I have a new install of WP 3, Buddypress, and Another Free Classified plugins running on my site. Everything seems to be working fine with the exception of creating groups. I am getting a page not found. I installed everything through the dashboard and it seemed to go through with no problems. The directory the link is going to is http://www.phillipscountyonline.com/groups/create. Of course, without creating a group I can’t get my forum going. The forum site looks good so far, but I won’t know if it is fully functional until I get the groups going. I haven’t been in to “mess” with the FTP because I didn’t want to goof anything up. Any help would be appreciated! Anyone have any ideas?
Hi. I looked for this problem all over the place but can’t seem to find anybody finding an issue with it. Basically, when you’re browsing a blog site on the wordpress MU install, the buddypress admin bar has a redirect_to that sends the user to the main site instead of back to the blog they’re looking at. I think this is rather silly so I went into the admin bar code and saw that it is obviously the intention of the developers to do this. Now, I changed the code myself in the bp-core-adminbar.php and put the redirect to be get_bloginfo(‘url’) instead, which obviously did the trick, but I’m wondering if there’s a way I can change that without a hard code change. If I upgrade at some point, I’ll have to remember to do that every time. Is there a way I can change it so I don’t have to worry about it later on when I upgrade? Is there a filter hook I can use? Thanks in advance.
Howdy. I’m experiencing the same problem. Not only group creation is involved. After not being able to continue to the select group avatar step whilst creating a group. I go back to the groups page index and the group is there. However if I try to create a topic I get the error: “There was an error when creating the topic”.
Though I only have one group created, the group count says 4!.
Regarding the discussion capabilities for groups I have installed bbpress through the built in installer in buddy press. bb-config.php looks okay. All the involved directories have the right permissions.
I deleted all the files from the server, dropped the db, re-installed from ground without any additional plugins and it still produces the same error.
I wonder if any of the developers can give us a hint on what to check.
Regards!
Martin
PS: I’m running WordPress 3.0, Buddypress 1.2.5.2.
BuddyPress 1.2.5x hasn’t really been built with the WordPress 3.0 menu system in mind. I know we’ve got some page title bugs on a WordPress network/WPMU install which I hope to get time to fix in a couple of weeks so this might clear up then.
